The Sancutary is open for carnival. There was only one in use and that was us. It is adults only area. It was worth every penny extra.

Flame time....lol..hahah....
Just got off a cruise and my TV was either on the front camera or the Map view. At first I was not happy, but then I realized how awesome it is with a week with no news....
As I ate my Bitter and Blac near the end of the cruise I thought - wonder what is going on in the world...and was at peace....
-
Loved it! Would do it agin. Staff fantastic, crew fanstatic, cruise director fantastic. Perfect - nope...but I just cant complain for the price/value we received. There ya go....
-
I am waiting for the new story —
“Hotel in Butte, Montana has broken pipe - rooms flood”...I mean seriously....anything these days at sea is sensational.
-
Make sure to use the fact you got him “status” all through the cruise. He should treat you extra special :)
-
Just got off her. Crew was fanstatic.... honestly the bones of the ship are pretty similar to newer ship so talk of being “old” in my opinion dont matter.
If I had any complaints it would be -
- Comedy club is smaller that other Fantasy class ships
- Sea Day Brunch was slow or not always warm food...they seem overwhelmed.
but - normal wait staff, steward, and other crew were awesome and I would not hesitate to go back.
As far as ship size - Large and small ships are all different experience. Not better, not worse - different and I like both experiences.
-
Just got off the Fantasy and heard about this. I would love that deal! This is an ocean going vessel....it can handle a little water!
On the copyright deal....the best way to solve that is just draw your picture of what you saw ;)

Headed out on her Saturday, but been on the Elation several times. Bigger is not always better. Both are very different experiences - not bad or good - just different. With that In mind, I enjoy the smaller ships for a change and try to do them every few years.
As far as maintenance and appearance, in general you could get on an older boat or a newer boat and not always be able to tell which one is older. Sure if you look hard enough and been on a lot of ships maybe....but you will like her!
-
I have only done it in an AFT balcony. It was great...Not sure it will work in a cove...not long enough.... but if you can...enjoy!
-
They servers will generally not give you an unopened beer. You could put some beverage in a water bottle, but it wouldn’t be that good. I just buy a “walking bottle” in port and just enjoy during the day.
-
Dream is great, but is a different experience from the smaller classes. Not better, not worse - just different. Can have crowded areas, but not obnoxious. Lots to do and lots of activities. Would have no problem recommending her.

Thanks for the replies. So my issue was they WERE letting everyone in later zones go ahead and debark which is why the lines were so long. We left around zone 5 being called and the people all around us were in 12 and exiting. Like I said, I wouldn’t mind waiting where I got in line if there weren’t so many folks that weren’t supposed to be getting off.
-
So my wife and I generally skip the priority debark and go enjoy one last leisurely breakfast in the MDR before we get off the ship. After eating, we generally head out a little after main zones are being called. Normally it hasn't been an issue but the last couple of times the lines are really long with folks who are not in the right zone getting off.
So if we run into that again, is there still a priority debark process after they start calling zones? I really dont mind waiting usually, just frustrating when they are calling zone 5 and zone 12 is in line....

Depends on the ship. Sunshine are all fresh. Guessing the latest ships are as well, but cant confirm.
-
Yep...I got all my notifications and alerts on my watch without an Internet package. Was quite nice to remind me of events. There are also some stand alone GPS apps that let you see where you are as well as a watch face that has your location.

How about Mobile? Do they have a nice lounge? Haven't been there since the Elation sailed from there.

I have to say Carnival is doing a pretty good job in a difficult situation. Getting into the port was crazy busy this morning. Took about 45 minutes at 10am and it was only getting longer. We pulled in front of Julia and then unloaded luggage at the door. They had us park outside in a lot next to the stores and hoof it back over to Julia. I will say my only complaint is they still charged us $100 for uncovered parking offsite. Not sure how they are going to handle us getting back to our cars when they bring us back to Erato....so that will be interesting.
The Galveston folks were manually checking us in on a piece of paper since the other cruise lines computers were at the check in desks. Some folks didnt have S&S cards ready and had to stand in line at customer service once onboard. They took everyone’s picture as we entered the ship so that also took a while. The folks were very friendly even though they had hardly slept since checking in a ship yesterday.
So yep..there will be a long line of complainers I am sure...but I have to give kudos to Carnival for pulling it off. They could have easily pushed us until tomorrow.

Sounds like Uber is the best bet - and I don't mind paying for it, I just wanted what was easy and convenient. Too bad they don't have a Porter and luggage collection right at the public transpiration drop-off. Looks like overall they have a pretty good system out there in Seattle for getting around.
-
So we are staying right near the Needle for a few days before a Carnival cruise out of Pier 91. The bus stop is right outside our place and goes right to the Pier bus stop with just 9 stops.
Anyone done this? Looks like a quick easy ride, but I don't want to lug suitcases all over the place. Are there Porters right near the bus stop? If not, I am going to take an Uber/Taxi - this just looked pretty easy.
-
She didn't really lose it....she put it in a very safe place. I do that all the time...but every once in a while I forget where that very special safe place is located.
-
If there was a way to safely (and non-destructively) tie the ends of a hammock to the sides of the balcony, I would do it in an instant! A simple net hammock could fit in a suitcase easily. However, I suspect there is no way to secure the ends of a hammock to the sides of the balcony, and ever if there was, I wonder if they would allow such a thing.
A hammock generally won't work in a standard or cover balcony - not wide enough so you are like a banana. I have used them in extended balconies and it was fantastic. I always used good straps and took it down when I was not in it...never had any issues.
-
That's why they did not call you to execute these plans.
Best answer of the day.
I like you John! We might just have to cruise together one day.

Here is the update...we will return to San Juan once clearance is granted. Guests are welcome to stay on the ship in San Juan until Sunday. All guests will receive a full refund of the cruise, all pre paid shore excursions and gratuities will also be refunded. Guests will also receive 50% off a future 2 to 7 day cruise. If we do not receive clearance from the coast guard by 9:00 pm, Carnival will arrange travel from St Thomas to our homes.
Sweet....sounds like a good deal to me...:D
Heck - being bussed to a hotel and being uncomfortable for an afternoon - that sounds like a typical Time Share presentation....but these folks got a lot better reward lol

So I can stay on the boat for 7 days? Full Refund? $150 Credit? 50% off future cruise....now that is a darn good deal....and yet - someone will still complain.

Yep….that’s me. You’re probably wondering how I got here….
In my defense, there was a little rum involved. Thanks for keeping what happens at adult night staying at adult night. Go #TeamPink
Was an interesting cruise for sure.
