  1. Oh my god, what did you do?? That's terrible that you weren't able to use the made-to-order sandwich bar, but the pre-mades were not to your liking. Personally, I refuse to tolerate any cruise ship that doesn't have a tableside made-to-order sandwich trolley.

I have a spinal condition. Threw my back out picking up a 45 lb piece of luggage day before the cruise. Thought I would be okay. I wasn't. Suffered with intense pain the whole trip. My fault alone. I know better. Getting help from my neurologist now that I am home. Thanks for asking.

  2. Can't mention anything on this last cruise. Worst food I have ever had on ANY cruise. And I am not a fussy eater.

On previous HAL cruises have loved the food - it was very good IMO.

A few honorable mentions on this last trip on the Veendam:

Escargot, bread pudding, Dive In burgers, and the fresh roast turkey they had at lunch ONE day was as good as always.

    The rest could go overboard...JMO

  3. Good Afternoon All!

Please forgive me if this has been asked a million times before. I have searched and have not landed on the answer.

We will be in Hamilton on HAL cruise and would like to take the public bus in the afternoon one day down to Elbow Beach just to walk around a little, not spend the whole day or anything. I assume Elbow has a public beach? If so, and we take the public bus from Hamilton down to the Elbow Beach stop, how long of a walk is it to the beach (on Tribe Rd?) It doesn't look too long on the map, but maps can be deceiving and we are seniors.....spry, but senior! (ie: no disabilities) We usually walk a mile or so at home with no issues, so can anyone tell us approximately the length of the jaunt we are thinking of taking? We just want to see that pink sand up close!

    Thank you very much.

  4. Thank you all for your good wishes...I am eagerly awaiting this cruise. Have not been on one for a few years due to an ill family member who has unfortunately passed away last August.

I am "almost" packed as we go to Boston for a few days prior.

We are both excited to go, we have never seen Bermuda....we are probably the last 2 people on the planet who have never been there. Heard it is a beautiful place....!:D

  5. We are trying Celebrity for the 1st time this year too. From what I hear from my TA and from what I read on the boards, they seem to be a good cruise line. Different from HAL, bigger ships, etc, but with nice amenities and good food. We will see! Would have gone HAL in November but no itinerary was right, at the right time....so Celebrity won out.

Hope you have a good time on your cruise even though you have a bit of a wait.....
