  1. Is there a way I can preorder distilled water for my husband's breathing machine?  I don't want to have to find a place to buy it ahead of time then lug it onboard.  Last cruise we were on (not Celebrity), we preordered and it was waiting in our cabin.

Due to the smoking allowed in the huge, centrally located official casino, I would think there must  be gamblers who would welcome slots in non smoking areas like the Ocean Bar area.  I think the slots will be there forever.

Keeping my fingers crossed that there will be some non smoking nights in the casino, because I am one who likes to sit down at a slot machine and play for awhile.  I won't go if it's too smoky.  Some people like fine wines, some like fancy dining, some like spa treatments.  Isn't that why we cruise?  There's something for everyone!  Believe me, if I really wanted to gamble all night, I'd go to Vegas.

A couple quick questions for those of you familiar with HA - would be most appreciative of any info. We have cruised many other lines but are HA newbies, and are learning that HA does some things differently.

With the Signature Beverage Package (part of the Have It All promotion) drinks up to $11 are included I believe. On other lines, if you order a more expensive drink they just charge you the difference (i.e. $13 drink they just charge your account the extra $2).  If I understand it correctly, HA charges the full drink price for anything you order that's more than $11, correct? And if you want to upgrade to the better drink package, you must pay full price for that once onboard? Not just the difference between the two package prices?  I love to try new wines and hubs is a bourbon fan , but it seems silly to pay full price when there are many included in the package already.

Are there any shore excursions in Mazatlan or Cabo that you would recommend? We are booked for one for PV already.  We are in our 50's and no physical restrictions, love lots of walking and beach time.

We plan to get covid swabs done Friday morning to sail on Sunday. We have Kaiser and they promise results within 72 hours - and it has taken close to that long for us for some earlier tests.  I know HA says if you can show you've been tested on time but not received results they will rapid test you at the port.... but that makes me a little nervous. I hate to pay several hundred dollars out of pocket for a test at CVS or Walgreens as a back up that we might not need though. Suggestions?  We will be flying to SD on Saturday and staying over at the Wyndham near the port, so if there's a rapid test suggestion near the port maybe?

Thanks in advance for any advice you long-time HA travelers could share!  Super excited to sail in a few weeks!

We sail this weekend, and I've been paranoid about testing.  Will get rapid test at CVS on Friday, with backup appointments later in the day at Walgreens which we will cancel (just in case).  We also got 2 free home tests from the public library which we will bring along with us (just in case).  I'm sure it will all work out just fine.

@Cruzmama are you looking for suggestions?  We did the Mexican Riviera in March 2020, and in Puerto Vallarta did the excursion to San Sebastian.  I see it is still offered post-COVID, and I can highly recommend it.  When we did the tour, it was a small group of around 12 people, all from our cruise.  We stopped at a local tequila distillery, had lunch, stopped at a coffee plantation, and then to San Sebastian.  We had a great time, and would highly recommend it.

    Thank you.  Sounds fun!

  5. Two weeks away from our cruise!  Normally, we would book our own excursions in port, but since cruising is a bit different now should we stick to ship excursions?   For those who have recently cruised, is it safe to book a catamaran port excursion or take a water taxi on our own?

  6. I would like to use delta points on our flight back from Rome after our transatlantic in April. Can Celebrity do this?  Or is it best to do it on our own?. Will more flights be opening up for May?  They seem high now or will they just get higher?  I just don’t know how long I should wait to book.

In Puerto Vallarta your ship will likely offer a full day excursion to Las Caletas which is a private beach area leased by a decent local tour company (Vallarta Adventures).  That excursion would fit your criteria as it is private, clean, has food/drink and decent facilities.

Thanks, Hank.  Did you do the Las Caletas tour?  And, yes, we are going to the usual ports in Mexico.

  8. Back to the original question - I think people will have to show proof of vaccination in order to cruise.  I'm not sure how they will enforce it, but I think a lot of other businesses will require this in the future.  After the first phases have been taken care of, perhaps there will be the opportunity for the crew to be vaccinated. I think that will be a necessity.  I look forward to cruising again perhaps next November, but at least by April, 2022.  I will continue to wear a mask as long as necessary.  My question is, do any of you WANT to get back on a ship if NOT vaccinated?  I don't understand why anyone would want to take that chance, but feel free to enlighten me.  I'm certainly not criticizing  anyone for their choice, I just think you might be limited if you don't.
