  1. I do see some elements that are similar Sidari. The 2 story atrium section as well as the outdoor promenade decks look alike. I'd like to see her when she's finished to make a better comparison though, but I guess her completion schedule has been moved to October instead of this past March.

  2. Thank you so much for the great information, Skier52. I've always had my heart set on an Eastern Mediterranean cruise because of the scenery/historical landmarks of Greece and the little islands of Italy and thought maybe we'd do a land tour of mainland Italy someday so that we could spend more time there. But.......Stockjock, your iten. looks awesome. ;)

I have to choose carefully because we really hate the 11+ hr. flights from LAX to London, et al. And I'm the TA for us, albeit non-professional, so I will get the blame if things go awry.

I've always considered Oceania to be my/our choice for a Mediterrean cruise in the future. But I/we've recently jumped ship from NCL and will sail on MSC Divina this December to the Eastern Carribean. I can't wait to try MSC and hope we love her enough to trust MSC for our future bucket list cruises!

Again, thank you so much for your input Skier52. It really helps!:)

Did someone say real pizza Mike???:D

The pizza onboard Divina is no joke!!!! All of their ingredients are imported from Italy and the pizza chef at La Cantina Di Bacco makes them fresh for you!!! Don't even get me started on the plank of appetizers you get before your pizza arrives!!! Can't wait,,,just two more weeks!!!!!!

  3. hot dogs and burgers? how about the awesome pizza? Best on any cruiseline; actually better than what we can get at home! And don't forget the international section of the buffet where they have fresh cheeses made on the ship and too many other yummy things to name!

    Marianne

Incredible pizza!!!! We'll be making a bee line straight to La Cantina Di Bacco once we board in two weeks time!!!:D

  4. Hi, I have just read on another thread (but one that was about 3 years old), that you can check the balance of your on-board account via the television in your room...is that right? Thanks :)

That is correct Orange,,,you can also use the MSC app once you are onboard to check your balance as well. I've had very good luck using the app, but others have not so it's kind of hit or miss.

  5. I'm Mike's TA and while I'm not on board till this coming Saturday, let me see if I can get these to attach. It's sample menus I can pull up from a dedicate TA site for agents with MSC.

They're in PDF format and only let me do 5 at a time. Hope you can read them.

Chip to the rescue!!!! I never gave any thought that you might have access to those menus,,,Awesome!!!:D

  6. Wow, sounds awesome Kathleen! :D I'm looking forward to your review.

Would either of you have scanned copies or photos of the menus in the YC? Also, do you know what type of diet soft drinks are available? (I assume Diet Coke, but am wondering if there are any others.)

    Thank You!

    Alison

Coca Cola Light, Coca Cola Zero, Sprite Zero and Sugar Free Red Bull

I haven't been able to locate any Le'Muse dining menus however. My TA will be onboard Divina this weekend and he is staying in the Yacht Club. I'll see if he can take some pics of the menus, if not,,I'll be onboard in two weeks so I'll be able to get that information for you.:)

  7. Just returned from our spring break cruise aboard the lovely Divina in the amazing Sophia Loren suite. I will write a review later but am happy to answer any questions in the meantime. Let me say that in four cruises on Divina, all in Yacht Club but the first time in the Royal Suite, it was the most amazing, incredible experience ever!

Great to hear Kathleen!!! We've stayed in 16008,,the other YC3 and loved that stateroom!!! I just wished the balcony was laid out differently,,but would book that stateroom or The Sophia Loren Suite again in a heartbeat!!:)

  8. Hi everyone,

We will be setting sail later this year, for a Caribbean cruise on the Divina . I know that there is no self laundry facility available on-board, but can anyone help me with the laundry/ironing services that are available please? Is everything charged per item or do they do packages that you can buy on board? So, 10 items for $?

    Thanks is advance :):)

There are two packages available Orangecat.

The LAUNDRY SERVICE PACKAGE covers the entire duration of your cruise, enables you and all of the occupants of your cabin to have your garments laundered: (maximum 20 items per cabin and per cruise).

THE REGULAR LAUNDRY PACKAGE: Items collected before 10:00am and returned before 5:00pm the next day for $25.00

    or

THE EXPRESS LAUNDRY PACKAGE: Items collected before 9:00am and returned before 5:00pm the same day for $40.00

There will be a form for these packages in your stateroom. Just complete the form and drop it off at the reception desk.

  9. Thanks, Mike! Those OBCs are much more generous than NCL's. :D

The certificate must be used within 18 months from the purchase date:

: It cannot be converted into cash, and is neither transferable nor refundable

: It is applicable to the prices stated in the brochure

: It may be combined with the "Early Booking" promotion and the MSC Club member discount; it cannot be combined with other promotions and is not applicable to CATEGORY YC2 and YC3 cabins

: It may be used to book cruises of seven days (or more)

: It may only be used once and for one cabin only

    Inside Cabin : $100.00

    Ocean View Cabin : $150.00

    Balcony Cabin : $200.00

    Suite : $300.00

    MSC Yacht Club YC1 : $400.00

  10. A couple of questions from a newbie, if I may. What do these coupons represent? Do you have to actually book your future cruise or is it a future OBC for whenever you do book? (Time limit?) How much current or future OBC credit do you get? And why would you spend $100 on one if you could get one for $10, (except for the YC1 limitation), for the same price?

Also, I was able to book one of the square YC1s. Are the bathrooms any different from the rectangular cabins?

    Thank you in advance!

    Ali

Juneau,,,you can purchase a future cruise credit while onboard for $10.00. You can then redeem this certificate towards onboard credit on your next booking. So for instance, we purchased one back in August while onboard Divina. When we returned back home, we booked a YC1 stateroom and in return received $400.00 in onboard credit. AS the category of stateroom decreases,,so does the amount of onboard credit you receive,,the minimum being $100.00. So it's a great deal if you plan to sail MSC again in the future.

Sorry I can't answer the second part of your question,,there are a few resident MSC stateroom experts that can give you better information on the square staterooms. If you know your stateroom number however,,you can browse youtube for videos,,,there are plenty of them out there.

  11. LOL... Yes, the extra tips were given in cash. :) MSC tries to discourage tipping extra but we do it anyway.

Exactly Cruiser!! We brought our butler and room steward into our stateroom to tip them,,,we have heard that any cash tips must go into a pool to be split.

  12. I'm new to MSC and will be on the Divina, in the YC, this December with my husband. (I can't wait!:))

Can gratuities be paid through your onboard account or do the stewards/butlers/servers, etc. prefer cash?

    Thank you!

    Alison

Welcome Juneau!!! You can pre-pay your gratuities if you like or have the daily service charge added to your onboard account. We prefer the latter so we can earn points towards our rewards membership. If you feel the service you received is above and beyond your expectations,,you can tip extra to that individual.

  13. Wow, that's awesome! Thank you Mikesa1721! I'm liking MSC more and more. (And I'll drag as many of my NCL buddies along as I can.;))

    Alison

We love Divina and especially the Yacht Club. Having sailed the Yacht Club twice so far, I can tell you it is truly an incredible experience,,and MSC's rewards program is second to none so please take a look at that as well when considering MSC. If you have any questions,,please hop over to the MSC boards,,we'd love to help answer any questions you might have.:)

  14. Swarovski Crystal staircases???....... "What a girl wants, what a girl needs". ;)

To everyone looking at MSC~~~ I had a heck of a time on their website and finally just called in. T.G. I did- it got me $200 ($100pp) OBC. Make the call.

;) BTW, you can reserve it for a week for free or do a reservation for only $200 for two people. (I think non-refundable.)

Juneau,,,your deposit is 100% fully refundable as long as you decide to cancel before the 75 day pay-off date.:)

  15. Good morning from a fellow Georgian!! This drink sounds very good and will have to try it sometime. Hope you like the Divina as much as we do. Just remember, she has a very European feel. If you need drink service while sitting in the bar or around the pool, just get the attention of one of the bar servers walking around. They are not in your face trying to sell drinks. If you find a server you like and look for them a few times, they will remember you and come to you for your order. Also, as you may have read, the MDR service is laid back and not rushed - usually. Of course, if you are in the Yacht Club, then no problem with service of any kind. Enjoy your cruise and look forward to hearing your opinions.

Great advice for the first timers Cruiser!!!!

  16. i booked in online after buying the cruise to save time but now I have no luggage tags? The website is useless and the person that called me said luggage tags were emailed already. Now I have to try and get a hold of someone and beg for luggage tags. I am starting to get a bad feeling about this cruise line. This could be first and last cruise on this line, hope not.

John,,as long as you have completed and printed your web-check in and received your boarding pass and printed that, you will be fine. Once you reach the terminal,,the luggage tags are removed and new ones are applied to your luggage so don't worry if you didn't receive them.

  17. Mike, or anyone else who books from the USA, can you tell me if it's possible to pre-book but not pre-pay from the US website? All I'm finding are pre-pay options that require a credit card number to complete. Thanks!

Yes Pluto,,,You can "reserve" or "pre-book" drink packages, shore excursions, spa treatments,,,etc. but just as FLAMOM stated,,they are limited,,especially the spa treatments. To reserve items to your booking, first go the MSCCRUISESUSA.com website. Next, select "ON BOARD SERVICES" from the top menu bar. From the drop down menu, next select "BOOK YOUR PACKAGES & EXCURSIONS". Finally enter your booking information into the appropriate fields and then you will be able to select from the different options which are available for your sailing. Be sure to select the "CHECKOUT" button after you are finished making your reservations and also it is very important to print and bring a copy of your reservations onboard with you.:)
