We're thinking about booking a cruise on the Dream out of New Orleans. We're considering a balcony room on Deck 7 or 8 in the middle of the ship. Looking for opinions on which would be better - a room near the elevators for convenience, or a room further down the hall for less foot traffic. Thanks!
I booked a cove balcony on deck 2 right off the elevator. I chose deck 2 so that I could see right out to the ocean, and because the cove balcony has a little more privacy. I chose near the elevator because it's fast easy and convenient.

I am in no way a Carnival Cheerleader, however I like what I get for my money. I get a lot more options of free food and I think they stop at great ports.
I will go anywhere that doesn't require me to cook, clean, or do anything work related. NCL IMOP has all these great places to eat (and just like carnival its the same thing every cruise) however I think they charge too much money for it. If I am already paying a high price for the cruise, and then I have to pay for everything I want to eat it isn't worth it. I am happy with the food that carnival has given. I have sailed NCL Jewel, Gem, Breakaway. Carnival Sensation, Miracle, Conquest and up next is Dream.
I don't have anything agaisnt NCL however it isn't for me.

On the dream August 16 sailing. I booked deck 2 cove balcony. In all my cruises I have never stayed higher than deck 2. Not because of finances, I just assumed you felt less movement and heard less noise on the lower decks. I like to be closer to the restaraunts and all the other activities that may be going on for the evening or day.

Any singles going on the August 16, 2015 cruise out of NOLA on Carnival Dream?

Booking with a travel agent can be good. It's up to them and their discression if they want to charge you the fee. However they do offer low prices and other great perks. It's all about who you know and what they know.

My boyfriend is a cigar smoke here and there. I was wondering if the Dream had a place for cigar smokers?

She won't eat fish. Her first rule was nothing with a face but then she decided that clams and scallops were out too. She is still eating cheese, milk, yogurt and eggs.
We did finally figure out where she picked up the idea. My brother raises chickens and rabbits and any that don't sell become meals. So far he has sold all of them but it has always been discussed as the back up option. I think she saw where food really comes from and decided she didn't want a part in it.
I have been one for 7 years. My daughter who is 15 and wants to be a
Veterinarian decided she wants to be a vegetarian as well because she doesn't understand why people would hurt animals. It's been a year since she has had any meat.
-
I'm one of those vegetarians that people say stop lying I am a Lacto vegetarian pescatarian lol. What that means is I don't eat chicken, red meat, pork or drink milk. I only eat fish, I do eat eggs. I have always had great meals on cruises. Does she eat fish?

The Dream does not have Guys, Red Frog, or Cucina.
Not sure on Blue Iguana.
Andy
The dream has Red Frog and Blue Igana, along with some other upgrades.
-
Besides Taco Chips, what are some things that you think the blue iguana would benifit from having as far as food, or condiments.

I am cruising out of NOLA on the Dream. I really hope to see Fast 7, Avengers, Transformers, and Unbroken.
-
Just think of it like this. Somewhere in this world in a couple of cities there will be about 500 kids that can't go because they have school, so that's about 500 kids you won't have to deal with and you go and enjoy your cruise!
-
I'll be on the Dream August 16. I always cruise this month because of my Teacher schedule, and the fact that I have kids. This will be my first cruise where I am not taking my kids with me. I noticed that some parents take their kids on cruises and let the ship watch them.
I am in a Balcony on level 2. How were the lines and how was chair hogging?
-
What happens when you want to watch the sunrise? What time are people allowed to go out and lay on the deck?

Playlist productions is the new version of their production shows.
No live music and 4 males and 4 female singers and dancers.
Lots of flashing lights which are great migraine triggers.
Or epileptic seizures

I think we take for granted that for about a week of our life we don't have to cook or clean our homes. We may not like all the food but there will be some food that we will like. I think with time nothing stays the same and I know we like to see carnival increase their product not decrease. This is why I try not to do too much of anything too many times. It leaves less room to complain.

When you're out on the big ocean or you're just sitting back and the captain or cruise director comes over the loud speaker Goooooooooood morning. It just sends this happy feeling through my body.
The fact that I don't have to cook or clean at all.
-
everything I guess. I do love to hear the voice come over the loud speaker, it makes me feel like I am on vacation (i know silly). I can do without the hairychest contest, ice carving, and so much line dancing. I say 3 good line dances (wobble, cupid shuffle, electric slide) but 20 minutes of line dancing is too much for me IMHO. I think they need to revamp the lido deck entertainment.

They used to have pretty good production shows and now they give us playlist.:(
What does everyone mean by playlist

Sorry you are right. I was assuming 7 nighter.
It's a 7 nighter. There have been so many rules changes, I am just trying to make sure I have it all right.
-
No, it's included in your fare. And offered on the first elegant night. As many as you like. I've heard people boast they have had anywhere from 15 to 25 of them.
That's too many lobsters, I would be sick after that many. 5 will do lol
-
No. You may have seen a menu with steakhouse selections which has a surf and turf for $20. This is available every night. The lobster is still free on 1st formal night.
Are there still two formal nights?
-
Question : does carnival charge for lobster now on elegance night?
-
I leave in 41 days for the dream. I would love to steal your video idea for my review

Getting married in 2017 was wondering which cruise line is the best for this.
