  1. JP, your Schnitzel looks yummy. Must try your sauce. Hard to find veal or pork escalopes here, so I often bread chicken With some chives and Parmesan. My favourite dish as a kid was Veal a la creme with mushrooms.

On another note, I have just viewed your Banff photos. They are absolutely stunning. Even despite the weather they are beautiful.

Hope you enjoy your concert in Saratoga tonight. Who are you going to see?

Mudhen, congrats on the new house. It must be so exciting. The area sounds fantastic being so close to the Sea.

Looking forward to hearing more. I’m sure you’re so happy now being located so close to your family.

Jeff your view is Idyllic. Really enjoying soaking up the Sunshine, and nice leisurely meals outside.

Our lawn is starting to turn brown due to no rain and water hose restrictions.

We can’t cut ours at the moment, keeping it long, in case it burns.

  2. Thanks all for your kind messages.

    Mysty, enjoying the daily funnies.

Love your burger Jeff, you get perfect grill marks.

What brand of extraction fan do you use and do you know the strength of the extraction? We have a new hob with chargrill for a long time but haven’t installed it yet as we need to cut the counter for it to fit. Will definitely require a powerful extractor.

Sofia, Gorgeous weather here in Dublin too. Delighted you can enjoy with family. Sounds like you are having a lovely time. We are told we have the sunshine for another 10 days:beer-mug:

Interesting to see the return of Mark Conroy to the board. Hopefully It is not just in the short term.

  3. Davy wavey, sorry to read about your friend. I understand how angry you can feel under those circumstances.

Mleh very sorry about the passing of your friend.

In December 2016 my Mom was admitted to a private hospital suffering a compressed fracture of the spine. She also suffered from Emphysema.

They treated her but she was still in terrible pain and because it was over New Year they obviously needed to free beds they released her at the same time as increasing her meds without monitoring how she could cope with the higher dose.

We had just arrived in Orlando on New Years Eve and woke on New Year’s Day to the news that she had stopped breathing and had 3 heart attacks on the way to Hospital. We flew home under the assumption that she would be dead before we could arrive home.

She spent almost a year in hospital, 3 months in ICU.

When she came home she needed full time care. She died last month as a direct result of negligence and greed.

In Ireland, the health care system is appalling. If you have to go to Hospital by ambulance you are brought to a public hospital to wait maybe days on a trolley in a public corridor surrounded by other trolleys with no privacy.

Even though you pay Thousands a year on private insurance if you are sick outside the hours of 10.00 -1800 (private A&E) that is your fate.

My mother didn’t want to die in a hospital corridor on a trolley, she refused an ambulance.

We drove her to a private hospital where she had to be resuscitated and given cpr by her nurse in the car while I was holding her.

    She never regained consciousness.

The Hospital were fantastic, and she died with dignity and we had the privacy to say goodbye.

We have one scandal after another here, with cover ups just like in the U.K.

    nothing ever seems to change.

  4. Good Afternoon all .....

Yo’re photos are making me hungry Jeff.

Just home after a 3 hour drive, with an empty fridge.

    Do you do delivery?

  5. Beautiful photos Sakaara! Thanks so much for sharing them! Hope your son recovers soon! Enjoy Westport!

    Thanks Mysty,

Glad you enjoyed them. Thanks for the good wishes.

Minor injury to a son who seems to be very accident prone..

Last year he missed almost 6 months of school after his friend accidentally hit him on the head with a golf club. His friend was very enthusiastic to take his shot and didn’t check to see if it was safe to do so.

He got a second concussion on his first day returning to school sports a few weeks ago, hit by a rogue Gaa Ball :')

  6. In Achill in Mayo on the West Coast Of Ireland this weekend, collecting our son who was studying Irish at the Gaeltacht. Due to a foot injury he is returning early.

I will post some photos to show some incredible Coastline and stubborn sheep.

This is my first visit and I will definitely return.

Staying in Westport, so dining there tonight.

  7. Jeff,

Are you able to view the Irish TV Channel RTE?

They make some really great TV shows.

Have you heard of Love Hate? Excellent but very violent. It was one of the biggest and lucrative tv shows made, over here.

I think this show was sold to the US too. RTE is similar to what you were saying about the BBC, being paid for by tv license.

Loved your recommendation on the Aussie show Rake. Hopefully Season 5 later this year.

Enjoy the twin Torps. Maybe Amazon might decide to ship to us in the future, as no luck with Sub directly yet. Tiny population here in Ireland, might not make financial sense.
