  1. We did the Yukon Green jeep tour our of Skagway. We were the only people on the tour and theses are the best pictures from all my trips we have taken . We stopped several times along the way to photo ops and learning about the history. I do believe you will enjoy this excursion.

    Good to know. It's significantly more than my original Avis reservation, so I started to worry that I made a mistake. Not that a Jeep over a mid-sized car isn't already a better choice, right?! :rolleyes: :)

  2. * Stay out of the casino.

    * Sleep in at least ONE day.

    * Not force DH to do anything he doesn't want to do. (If all he does is sleep and eat, it's his vacation too. :rolleyes: )

    * Not spend every day sadly keeping track of how many days are left.

    What we WILL be doing...

    * Misty Fjords excursion

    * Behind the Fun Tour

    * Green Jeep Tour in Skagway

    * Salmon Bake

    * Nick & Nora's.

    * Rest/Relax

  3. We have been going on a cruise to Mexico every year for the last few years and even though the ports are the same ,we manage to do something different each time both on board the ship and on shore!

    I am not quite sure what we'll do this time but things we haven't done yet that are on my list include:

    ordering room service

    parasailing

    singing Karaoke instead of just listening

    Just to name a few.

    Do it! The Karaoke, that is!

  4. According to this little app, I've just entered the single digit zone! WHAT?!???!!

    Technically, my countdown hits fruition the minute I leave my house to head to the airport on July 8 at 4am...but this'll do!

    Hubby and I last week at our local lake fishing for bass...but the looks on our faces say we're ready for Alaskan Salmon!!

  5. ...with ZERO expectations.

    I am in a Junior Suite on the Miracle...which I booked under Early Saver last year when the itinerary was posted. Granted the price is more expensive from when I booked originally, but in doing mock bookings, the other JS is still available as well as several Grand Suites...which are currently listed as the same price as the ONE JS still available.

    I'm thrilled with my suite, but I may just see what happens for the heck of it. They will probably say no, but the only stupid question is the one that's not asked, right? :rolleyes:

  6. I wish Carnival could expand ports on this side - - bring back San Diego, maybe add San Francisco, Santa Barbara, Portland, etc.

    It would be kinda neat if Carnival did a coastal tour like Princess does: start in, say Long Beach, and then go up the coast and back (hitting, of course, Ensenada or Vancouver/Victoria for international check-in). We don't have a lot of ports to choose from at this point: Long Beach and Seattle (seasonally). That's it. :(

    Hear our pleas! ;)

  7. Just off the Dream last week. I received an awkward beach bag/cooler. The top half is a small mesh net beach bag and the bottom of the bag is an insulated "cooler" that will hold about a 6 pack. Awkward part is if your bag is full, and your "cooler" is full, you have to tilt the bag over to unzip your cooler part hoping not to spill everything out of the bag.

    It also has the logos of CCL's products on it. I wish it was either a beach bag or a cooler not both. Seemed cool at first but not real practical for real use.

    I'm still trying to figure out what the hell to do with it....and I live 5 minutes from the beach...LOL! :D:rolleyes:

  8. I agree SoCalKJ, I loved Jace on the Inspiration. I've been on that cruise 3 times (4th will be next week). I don't remember the previous CD's but he stuck out. I really liked his personality. I look forward to seeing him next week.

    Yeah, I think I liked the sarcastic tone. Not rude, but funny.

  9. Hey everyone,

    The Ports

    We still haven’t found anything we love doing in Ensenada, so we took a quick walk around and immediately got back on the boat. We did La Bufadora last time, so we didn’t want to it again. Wish I knew some “secret fun” things to do there!

    Done this twice now. Best time EVER! :)

  10. We booked our next one immediately after the season posted LAST YEAR! We're now 3 & 1/2 weeks away...

    The first exciting goal was like yours...

    Then it was exciting when it hit 365 (one year), then 364 (less than a year)...

    Then 100, then 99 (official double digit status!)...

    Now that it's under 30 days, I'm literally losing my sh... with excitement!

    So...lemme tell ya: I get your excitement!

    (Now, if I can just stay in the moment and not be depressed that I'm back before I even get on the plane to go, that'll be a miracle! No Pun Intended - that's the ship we're on! :D)

  11. I have more fun looking through the photo gallery at everyone else's silly poses! I've tried to sneak taking photos of them - but don't wanna get busted for theft - not that I'm gonna BUY someone else's photos, right?

    Port pics are classic! Half the time, people aren't ready when they snap the shot - there was one dude chewing a banana and looking to the side - that was hilarious!

    Or...the couple who posed for formal photos and the two foolios in their white robes, fresh from the pool photobombed them - this couple was SO AWESOME - they bought the photo and posted it here on cruisecritic in their review. I loved that pic so much, I copied it to laugh and laugh.

    Isn't THAT what this topic was started for??? :confused: :rolleyes:

  12. Aside from ourselves...LOL....

    We loved this married couple from 2005...from Britain...can't remember their names, but they were hilarious and adorable...and really loved their jobs. This was the 8-day Spirit out of San Diego.

    The cheesy Aussie with the rollerskates and the disco fro...uh...maybe not so much. (Alaska, 2011?)

    My most recent fave was Jace from my 3-day Inspiration. I just loved his wit and dry sarcasm.

  13. It's a small port (DH and I actually live in So Cal and made a day of it last year just to get away). There are a few really fun things that you and your child can enjoy together...and these aren't things you have to book through Carnival.

    First thing is the little golf cart rental - it's, if memory serves, like less than $50for an hour or so and it comes with a map and you pretty much just drive around the island and check out the sights.

    Second fun thing is the arcade on the other end of the main drag...on the way to the old casino (that'll be probably more fun for your child...LOL!), but DH and I actually got into one of those goofy booths where you sing along to whatever song we picked and our heads are morphed onto the dancing bodies and then we got the DVD as a souvenir. Way hilarious (since we picked "Single Ladies")!

    Next is the Underwater Submarine tour - pretty quick tour and lots of fun! You go under and get to see all the fish/water life from a good sized submarine. You can even purchase food pellets to feed the huge swarms of fish that you're sure to see. http://www.catalinaadventuretours.com/tours/ocean-excursions/semi-submarine-the-nautilus DH and I got tickets from Groupon, but it's still something that's reasonably priced.

    None of these, as I mentioned, are things that are required to be booked onboard.

    Hope this helps. :)
