These prices are insane! Adios DCL!

Out of boredom and curiosity, I decided to check my Mom's Booking Dashboard on RCCL website. She has already been upgraded to the 6:00pm seating and we are all set! Thank you all for your ideas and tips!

Just curious - if I email rcldining@rccl.com - will I get a response or does it go into the abyss and you find on on embarkation day. Also, my party is one adult, plus three kids and we are looking to add another adult. Thanks again for the tips!

Hopefully, the facts will come out in the courts and if they did breach any protocol, etc. Disney should be held accountable. If they followed proper procedures, then it was just a horrible accident. We shouldn't be too willing to sue, but should be very glad a system is in place to allow it.

Okay - let's try this...

Just received this from my TA...hope it helps! Can't tell if the file was attached though. Seems not to have worked...sorry. :(

Do ships, we are on RCL, have absolute times to be back on the ship while docked overnight? I would not much is going on late at night in Bermuda, but was curious. Thanks!

This is more of a parenting question than an "is it allowed" question. Will he get stares or be banned from the MDR in shorts....absolutely not. Is not wearing shorts the right thing to do and does this situation present teaching opportunities...absolutely yes.

We are going in July and never thought of asking that question. Thanks!!

Wow! Thanks for the responses and you have given me hope. Love the cruise critic crew! Thank you!

I haven't seen pictures of these rooms before and always assumed (incorrectly) they were the small portholes. I am curious as the one porthole room is listed as 241' too. I would think it would be smaller based on the porthole differences. Thanks for posting!

Asking this question I realize there is no absolute answer and we most likely will be hoping the gods show favor. My immediate family has been booked on Explorer OS for some time and we were able to get 600pm MDR. Last week we just added Grandmom last week and she is at 830pm MDR wait listed for 600pm. What are the chances of her getting the 600pm?
Obviously, if she doesn't we will just not eat in the MDR. Just curious, as I know there are lots of experts here. Thanks!
For bonus points, we most likely will add Grandmom and Pop In-Law's booked next week who will also need to be wait listed. What are the chances of all of us getting to sit together in the MDR? :)

Very interesting and makes sense...thank you again for all the tips!

Thank you for the information! I am curious about how St George changed since the ships are unable to dock there. Usually, it is the other way around. We are only there for two days and plan one day at Jobsons Cove/Warwick Long Bay and the other at the Aquarium and Hamilton.

We are looking to use buses as our main mode of transport during our upcoming cruise. Any experiences to share? Also, can we purchase our two-day pass on the ship or at the Dock? Thanks!!!

Never cruised Carnival personally, but my kids (9, 7, 5) were on the Carnival Dream with my ex. They had a wonderful time. However, I did the Disney Dream with them last summer and was completely blown away. Yes, it's more money, but I would at least do it once. I do like the other cruise lines, but Disney is in a class by themselves.

I used SAS last summer and they were great. Van was filled to capacity, but you can't beat the price! :D

Thanks for the tip and we are already booked. Cost of the trip up to Vancouver, plus additional cost of DCL equaled a family suite with butler on Norwegian. So, again my heart will always be with the Mouse, but I have to spread the love around. :)

I would agree with this ranking. If we could afford it, in terms of cruise cost and travel expense (DCL limited departure port options), I would almost always cruise with DCL. For example, we can't leave out of Vancouver for our upcoming Alaska cruise (I have free miles on SW and they do not fly there) and there is currently nothing scheduled leaving out of the Northeast this summer. We are looking forward to a quick 5-day getaway sans flights.
They provide outstanding service and product and do have my loyalty to an extent. I wish I was in a position to give them all our business, as I do believe they deserve it.

Can anyone provide some insights into the eYouth Tablet? Is it something you keep while on the cruise or just the registration device? Thanks!!
-
The good news is even before our upcoming Alaskan cruise, I have something to put on NCL's feedback form. They don't have to give 10% like DCL, but an easy 3-5% off next cruise would make it amazingly easy to understand. We hope to do Hawaii with NCL in 2015 and any discount would be great, so I will keep looking into it. Happy Saturday!

Core prices are the same, but you can get some very good OBC's from reputable, Disney centric TA's. Booking further out is cheaper, especially when dates are first released.
-
Oh my gosh...I hope someone from NCL is reading this thread. I have now traveled on DCL and RCL. There is no question DCL has the easiest and best program. I am hoping to sit down with someone on the ship in August, as I want to do NCL in Hawaii in 2015. They need to make this program easier. Thanks for all the insights!

You are paying $150 for a $250 voucher. Great value and worth it. Do NOT think of it as extra money to spend on the cruise you are on. NCL keeps advertising it that way but you already got the discount on the reward certificate you just bought. Bottom line you are charged $150. Go home and you have something actually worth $250.
First, thank you for the responses...greatly appreciated. I think I get it now, but am sure I will still have questions on board. Thanks again!
Summer 2015
in Disney Cruise Line
Posted
Not sure who "they" are...but I personally am not mad. Am I disappointed...yep. Will next February most likely be my last DCL cruise, perhaps.
Here's what I saw today - our February President's week cruise - 7 days to Caribbean for the five of us - $6,500. New summer 2015 announce and same group, same category for 5 day Bahamas on Dream - $6,600. Same 7 Day cruise...over $9,000.
Love Disney and its is my favorite cruise line. However, they just priced me out of the market. Glad to see that there are still folks that can afford it without blinking an eye. Have to keep the economy going, I guess.
