  1. On our September 2021 Encore cruise, about a dozen officers showed up and visited with people.  They just kept their masks on.

We have a M & G scheduled for our April 3rd cruise on the Bliss so I guess we will see if any officers show up or if it ends up as a visit with other passengers.

I was just on the August 21st sailing on Encore and my bid was accepted! I bid from from an inside to a balcony. Many others on my sailing had bids accepted for various balcony categories, and many said their bids were pretty "low". I spoke with another passenger that bid less than I did ($200 less) for the same upgrade from inside to balcony and also got the upgrade. I think most of the bids are being accepted due to the lower capacity, and they want our extra money, lol. Good luck!

When did you find out you got the upgrade?  We are sailing on the Encore on Sept 18th & put in a few bids to upgrade.

  3. Looking for a 2 bedroom 2 bath hotel room in Boston for our pre-stay in mid-September.

We would like to do the hop on hop off tour since we have a few elderly people with us. A hotel near one of the stops would be nice.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I know we could do 2 rooms but have done the family suite before and it always worked out good.

  4. Hello,

We are looking for a pre-cruise hotel for our RCCL Cruise in September. We have never been to Boston and know nothing about the public transportation system. We will probably have one full day to tour before boarding the ship on Sunday. We realize that Boston is very expensive to stay but we would like to have a reasonably priced hotel close to things to do.

If anyone can recommend hotels and tourist ideas it would be appreciated.

  5. Onboard Dress Code

Smart Casual: Ladies: Skirt or pants (no holes, rips or tears) with a blouse. Gentlemen: Pants (no holes, rips or tears) with a collared shirt.

Formal: Ladies: Cocktail dress or pantsuit. Gentlemen: Suit (black tie is optional)

Note: Swimsuits, robes, bare feet, tank tops, baseball caps and pool wear are not allowed in the main restaurants or specialty restaurants. T-shirts, shorts and flip-flops are acceptable for lunch.

Dress Code Policy says no tank tops - Does that include the dressier tank tops that ladies wear now? I can understand not allowing your everyday basic tank tops. We are going to be in the Caribbean in August and I purchased several decorative tank tops to wear.

  6. Thank you. The cruise in 2011 was my reward for getting back into my size 14 formal gown. :) unfortunately now I'm struggling with a different problem of having to keep my weight up since I was diagnosed with cancer a little over a year ago. Thankfully I have my good eating habits I learned with nutrisystem to actually keep my calories up in a good way now.

Sorry to hear about your battle with cancer - hopefully all is well.

I am now on day 9 and down 3 pounds. I have noticed that I don't feel as "pudgy" around the middle. Baby steps - one day at a time.

  7. sherilyn70 - Wow - you are an inspiration.

I see you have been on a few cruises.

We go on at least one a year and it is usually NCL. As you can tell by my signature I have been on 16 so far with one booked for this August and one for Sept 2015. As far as i'm concerned it is the ultimate vacation.

  8. Is this the package available on all ships? Will be on the Dawn in 3 weeks and was debating bringing our own vs buying on board and with a $15 per bottle corkage fee might make sense to just pay the $22 a bottle for the first package.

I'm not sure if this is the same list on every ship. It might depend on their inventory.

  9. Thank you for posting, very helpful.

Can you have some of your bottles in your cabin or just at the restaurants?

I didn't actually purchase the package. What I was told is you get a voucher for each bottle you buy and when you want the bottle of wine you just give the voucher to your waiter or bartender. You can have the wine where & when you want.
