  1. I stayed in room 14272. The layout had the extra sliding doors from the living room but no bathtub in front of the window.

The balconies are different sizes. I know that they say that deck 14 is one of the smallest. It was more than enough for my family of four. It depends on how important the size of the balcony is and whether you plan on having a party out there.;):D

I do have some pictures of the room and balcony if you would like to see. I can't find the link to my review that had all the pictures.

  2. Thanks guys. I know for sure I wouldn't be able to do forward at all. I just want a larger balcony and the aft ones are huge.

They are awesome on the breakaway. The Breakaway was my first aft room. I had the corner portside, and it was amazing. Enjoy. :)

    The views are really nice.

  3. I was wondering is there a difference in rocking form Mid ship and Aft on the Breakaway or any ship?

Unfortunately, I suffer from seasickness, so I am super sensitive to every little movement.

On Breakaway aft, I felt more right to left movement.

On midship, I did not feel the same rocking/movement.

I personally, feel the worst when I am high, forward. Thats just me though.

I love the aft views so much that I do not care about the rocking. lol I just make sure I go to the DR and get the patch and I absolutely love those aft views. :)

  4. Sounds like an experience and a lot of fun....Gotta do it!!

The two drinks going down quickly so you don't get cold should bring on some smiles quickly!! :D

    Thanks for your comments.

    Don

That's exactly what happened to me. A novelty and being able to say we went to an ice bar. I was sooooo cold that I downed my two drinks-- I do not drink alcohol at all- got very lightheaded and as per hubby, I sang Barney songs the way back to the room. Yikes.

A novelty, something to talk about and glad I went for a few.

  5. There's also a huge amount of difference in the exposure from deck to deck. Ours on deck 9 had a very large overhang - meaning that there was easily 100 sq ft covered. If you did not want to bake in the sun or if it was raining, that was very handy.

    Tom

Thanks for mentioning that. As you can see from the picture, I had some sun on certain parts of the balcony. Depending on the time of day. Very good point. Thanks again for mentioning it.

  6. All of the penthouses have the same inside square footage. The difference in the range is because of the difference in sizes of the balconies.

I don't remember the exact order anymore, but I believe that 9 is the largest and 13 is the smallest (but still quite large).

I agree. Even the "smallest" is quite large.

I stayed On deck 14 and it was definitely large enough for the four of us plus our two guests who visited from cruise critic.

I guess it depends on whether you want to have a party on your balcony or just want to relax. :)

    This is deck 14

  7. I stayed in 14272. This is a picture of balcony 14270.

I did hear some noise from h20 at night. It wasn't a deal breaker for us, but some may find it worse than we did. The aft views were amazing. And we could see the fireworks from the balcony since it is portside.

  8. I kept the suite a surprise from hubby and the kids for almost two years. If I did it, so can you. :)

I kept showing them pictures of rooms similar that we have had on prior cruises. I picked a mid ship balcony room and told them that that was our room.

I hid the mail from ncl. I did everything to make sure they did not find out.

When we got to the pier , poor hubby was looking for "our" room number and I was walking toward the lady holding the haven sign. He looked at me like I had lost my damn mind and just stopped walking. When I finally managed to drag them all into the room , and then they saw it wasn't a joke, the kids started jumping up and down and hubby gave me a big hug and kiss. The staff were laughing and were amazed I was able to not tell them. :)

It was so hard but it was so worth it in the end. Seeing their surprised faces at the pier was absolutely priceless. Me, I was so exhausted mentally and physically from preparing and planning this trip all on my own. Lol. But definitely worth it to me.

    Enjoy your cruise. :)

  9. The S6's have one bedroom and a sleeper couch in the "living room" which is extremely firm. Others said they got some sort of padding from the cabin steward to soften the couch for sleeping.

Definitely ask for pillow toppers. We had two toppers on and my kids still felt it was a little hard. They didn't complain but they are used to a memory foam mattress, so it may have felt really firm to them. :)

  10. I was in 14272. I loved the balcony door in the bedroom as I didn't have to walk past sleeping kids to go outside. :)

In that room, there was the closet in the bedroom plus two other smaller closets.

I did not think the shower was small. That's just my opinion. The bathtub was also very nice size.

I was also able to see the fireworks from this balcony as it is portside. Beautiful view.

It really depends on what you are looking for in a room. I personally need a window at least where I sleep. Not all feel the same.

    Enjoy. That balcony is amazing.

  11. I bring a photocopy of the back of my credit cards when traveling internationally and keep this list separate from where I have my credit cards. If my cards were to be lost/stolen, this gives me the contact numbers (toll-free in US or collect calls outside US) to notify the companies. I have also been known to email this information to myself (on an account easily accessed abroad) as a back-up.

I do the same. There is also a program, I know they have it for the iPhone, that you can photocopy passports, license, credit cards etc, into your phone. Front and back of the cards. This was so helpful on our cruise. The program is called lemon wallet.

  12. Thanks, anyone else have experience with it? It would be neat to be able to communicate by text instead of leaving sticky notes on the ,iron in the cabin, but then again, not sure I want to carry my phone with me...

We only used it to check our bill and made reservations once. We didnt use it for texting because we also, did not want to carry our phones with us.

You can also put a dry erase board on your cabin door for messages. :)
