  1. Don't tell my DH (cuz he'll never let me on CC again!) but reading all of the threads about suites and the perks made me want to book one! So I did! At first DH was like "WHAT???" but I keep telling him all of the little thing his butler will do - he is coming around!

    Looking forward to being butled!

At least you were kind enough to tell your husband. lol

I booked in 2011 and I have not told him or the kids. They will find out soon enough.... lol :)

  2. The signs say they are not allowed in tubs without adult supervision, but it doesn't say adults can't supervise from a lounge chair. It wasn't that bad, and truth be told, the kids aboard on our week were better behaved than some adults (see above post). The only time I was really grossed out was when a little girl (maybe 7 or 8 years old) was holding her nose and swimming underwater in the hot tub...eeeewwww! I would be afraid she would catch something (pink eye, Cocsackie (sp.) virus, etc.) I even asked how often they emptied and cleaned the tubs and it wasn't even my child!!

We have a hot tub at our home, and it isn't safe for a child if you keep the temperatures up to 102-104 degrees. However, the hot tubs on the ship aren't kept as warm.

Thank you so much for clarifying. When we were on the Jewel, I thought I saw signs about no children and I wouldn't let my daughter go in. :(. I remember one hot tub for children in the children's area. My poor daughter couldn't go in that one because the kids were belly flopping, spitting etc.

Some adults are worse than any out of control child. How do you think the child got to be that way???? Lol. :)

Thanks for your review. I love it and I can't wait till Sunday!!!!!

  3. Hi Capri...thanks for reading. I had prearranged my transportation to the pier via http://www.dial7.com. I believe you can still get a $3 off coupon online that you can use. All they instructed me to do is to call them when I had retrieved all of my luggage, which I did. They gave me the limo's car # (which is stenciled on the outside of the car) to look for. I headed out to the passenger pick up area, and within about 5 minutes, there was a Lincoln Town Car that came, # listed on the outside, and picked me up. Very easy and very quick.

I used them from LaGuardia. I'm sure they have service from JFK, too. Just go to their WEB site.

I've had issues with airport taxis in NYC. On 3 separate occasions, they tried to pull the old "I don't have change for a $50 bill. Meaning for a $25 fare, they were trying to get a $25 tip. So, I now prearrange transport out of NYC.

    Good luck.

Thank you so much for an awesome review. :)

I was looking for a cab service to get us to the pier. Thanks so much. I forgot all about dial7. You just made the transportation planning so much easier for me. Thanks again. :)

  4. Oh, I know. That's why I wanted to switch from deck 13 to deck 12.

When I got the pictures from Gambee, I sent the pictures of the 2 S6 to my PCC. Still haven't heard back from him. I don't care, because I'm on deck 12 baby!!! :)

Lol. I do remember reading what you were going thru with your PCC.

How much of a difference between the decks?? Hhhhmmmmm Everyone will have to start measuring each deck to know for sure. Lol

That balcony is so big. :) ( from pictures). :)

  5. Congratulations!! :)

I fought with my PCC over the size of the balconies for the S6 and he's still pretty peeved with me I'm sure, but he didn't offer us any senior discount and my DH will be 50 at the time of sailing.

And as hard as I've tried, the supervisors won't change me to another PCC. :(

Aurora, I am bring my tape measure to measure the deck on 14. It's the least I can do. Bear did the most awesome time consuming spreadsheet. :).

  6. I am so sad you completed your review. I looked forward to reading it everyday.

I am looking forward to the breakaway in July. Your review helped me so much. I hope you enjoy the Breeze. I will be following your review as I have never cruised with another cruise line, only NCL.

  7. Thank you so much for such an awesome review. I can not believe you were walking around in rain and wind from hell, to do a video tape review for us. That was above and beyond. :)

Thanks to you and Mom . :). You took time out from your vacation to help CC members. Thanks just isn't enough :). Lol. Can't wait for your next review. If I wasn't already booked on the Breakaway, after your review I would have booked. :).

  8. Hi there, I'm glad you enjoyed the review. I was just saying to David that I'd request Lani next time. Give a call to the concierge desk and see if it's possible to have her assigned to your room. She is super helpful and very nice.

    Enjoy your cruise!

You can request a particular butler????? First time in a suite, so please pardon my ignorance...:)

  9. Gambee, I can't find the words to tell you how awesome your review is !! Thank you thank you thank you. You have helped me so much in my planning for July. ;)

I also want you to know that I too, avoid large social groups. I avoid them like the plague. ( I probably will not go to my meet and great :( ) I really and truly know how hard it was for you to approach Peter Max and deal with the customer service fiasco . You did great. :)

    Thanks again.

  10. Just off the Breakaway 5/26 and had a deck 14 S6 14872 and loved it!!!

The bed in this suite is by the balcony allowing me to get out of bed each morning and walk right out onto the deck without disturbing my sleeping sister in the living room. I was able to leave the door open at night and have the wake lull me to sleep. I do not care about a bathtub and did not get in the tub in the suite once. It is larger though then the tub in the other suite configuration.

Bobbye came to visit me and noticed the living room area was not as wide? or maybe she said as long? as hers on 10 maybe by a foot or two, but there was no big noticeable difference to me. There was enough room to walk around comfortably for 4 people if you are booked in this suite.

As for the noise, we never heard any noise from the buffet on deck 15 but yes we could hear the party on 16. The bass when the balcony was closed, the music when out on the deck. Our solution of course was to go join the party!! It always ended by 1 am but never kept us awake - never.

The only negative I had was our butler Roy was non existent but Anna our cabin steward was great and got a nice share of his tip.

Thank you , thank you, thank you so much !!!! I have been waiting for sometime to post who has been in deck 14 aft Ph!!!! I am booked for 14272.

You answered all my questions except one. Lol. How was the balcony size??

Thanks again. I am so happy you enjoyed your cruise. :)

  11. I just received my pre cruise email for the breakaway and she said that Ryan wIll be my Concierge for my cruise.

IMHO... don't go thinking the worst of Ryan, just go and form your own opinion. We had a concierge that everyone raved about and I thought they were just okay. We had another that some liked and some didn't (unfortunately we didn't - but that worked out great for our steward as he as great so he got the tip they would have).:) We also had a butler on our first cruise that I really didn't care for but had her on another cruise and she was much better. Of course that is completely her choice but she was very stand-offish and we usually like to find out a little about the staff.:(

Hope you have a great cruise!:D

I agree one thousand percent. I always keep an open mind. I never had a suite before, so I don't even know what to expect from Haven staff. :).

I work too hard all year at a stressful job and I look forward to my vacation time with my family. :). I just want my aft views and my family next to me.

    Thanks.

  12. By the way, we are on deck 10 and the "noise' from Spice doesn't bother us at all at night when out there. It's there, but not loud enough to be annoying. Don't hear it at all inside.

Thank you !!! I will let everyone know about deck 14 in July!!! I haven't seen anyone post from that deck yet. I am also packing my tape measure. :). Enjoy!!!!
