They thought the yacht club was better than the retreat?

What was it like sailing with mostly Europeans? We’re they friendly?

We are strongly considering it. Waiting till we get on the ship next week to make sure we like MSC. As noted above on Divina the restaurant is not within the YCbut it was a nice stroll before and after dinner. And also noted above, the thermal suite on Mera is outstanding. That’s odd but not a big deal to us. I’ve never had a bad cruise, just some have been better than others. It is compared to all these mega ships out there now.

We decided not to use NCL air. Don’t even think we’re going to keep the NCL cruise.

When I checked earlier today, the multi city flights were quite a bit more than round trip. Also had to deal with a layover in London, where they could potentially lose our luggage and I have to get on another flight. I’m terrified of heights and flying. Round trip Rome is nonstop. One and done would be so much easier for me and hopefully my doctor will give me something that will knock my wimpy butt out! She usually gives me Ativan for domestic flights. We were looking at flying into Athens and out of Rome to avoid the flight from Rome to Athens. We also like the convenience of it if them both being out of Rome.

Yes, the weather appears to be the same as here. Hot or hotter! Lol I am aware of the dress code for churches. I take chill pills but I guess they aren’t quite strong enough for things like this. Lol We have not booked anything new. Still discussing. I found another option dh is more open to and that’s two MSC cruises round trip of Rome with 3 days in between. One on the Seaview and the other on the Divina. Financially it makes more sense because of flights. It also gives us all the major places we want to see. No this or that, we get it all. Plus it would give us time to go to Florence, Rome and possibly Venice which were at the top of our list. Plus Santorini and Malta. Sounds amazing! I don’t know if we’ll ever get back to Europe. Too many other places we want to see.

I’m sure we will. I mean, we can’t go wrong going to Europe! I can’t help it, I over analyze everything and it takes me forever to make a decision about everything…from what color to get on my nails, to planning a cruise, buying a house. Everything. It’s sucks to live in my brain. 😝

No, the crowds. Oh, and btw, a rainy day in Paris is better than any day at home!

On FB, the Europeans are saying July and August will be worse and y’all are saying it won’t be. I’m so confused! Lol

The restaurant being outside the YC would only be a minor inconvenience. I can deal with that. The spa is the least of my concerns. I’m really not much of a spa person, outside of facials and massages. Lol Service, cleanliness, pool deck and itinerary would be important.

We’re looking at hopping off the Seaview and onto the Divina next summer. We would book the yacht club. I seem to recall reading some poor reviews of her. Is it a nice ship?

So if we book when flights first open we would have a good chance?

How do you go about doing that? I see a way to buy tickets with miles, but not how to upgrade.

Not super expensive nor a budget hotel. Something walking distance to good food that is clean and nice enough. I guess along the lines of a Courtyard by Marriott, Renaissance, or Albergo del Senato, not a Motel 6 or Ritz. Season would be June.

Did they charge a lot for the upgrade?

We will be on the Seaside.

We have a cruise booked from Athens to Venice for next summer. We booked with the "free air", which cost about $1500. Since you can only deviate by a couple days, we would only use the first leg, but it still looks cheaper than what we could buy two one way flights to Athens. My question is, would we be able to upgrade to premium economy because I don't want to fly that far in economy.

We have a cruise booked with NCL for next summer, Athens to Venice. They only let you go one or two days on either side of the cruise which doesn’t work for us. It’s super cheap though, apx $1500 for both of us from Charlotte. I’m wondering if we should keep it for the low fare to Athens and just not use the return flight. Does anyone know if we have the ability to upgrade cruise air? We do not want to fly standard economy that far.
