Sitting here in our hotel room anxiously awaiting time to head to the port. We stayed at the Courtyard Kennedy Space Center in Titusville. GPS says we’re 22 minutes from the port. This hotel is new and very nice. They gave us a free upgrade to a river view room. I don’t know how much the rooms cost, because we were able to use our annual free voucher. Breakfast is available but not included, which is fine. We were prepared and brought protein bars. They have a mini Starbucks so the coffee is good. This will be our first cruise with MSC and from what I’ve read here and on FB, our expectations for the yacht club are very high!

We had read the same which makes us hesitant. We won’t book anything until we get on the ship tomorrow and make sure we like them well enough to. 🤪

We intend to! That’s why I was asking if there were any benefit in getting there earlier than 10:30. It doesn’t appear there is.

We’re looking at the same cruise, but getting on in Naples.

Our plan is to leave our hotel around 10. It’s apx 20-25 minutes to the port, and we have to park, so that will get us to the tent around 10:30 or so. I will be sure to let you all know what I think of the ship and MSC. Thank you! There ya go!

I didn’t know this was an option. Thanks! My doctor usually gives me Ativan to fly. I’m terrified of planes and heights, hence why we’ve waited so long for a trip like this. Hopefully she will give me enough to knock me out!

We both have the AAdvantage credit cards. His is with Barclays and mine is Citi. But then we wouldn’t be able to use our miles. He’s not tall. We could both stand to drop a few pounds. We fit in the standard seats but the extra width would be nice, especially for him. I’m sure we will. I just want to be comfortable enough to sleep so we can hit the ground running when we arrive. That flights sounds awful but you had a great attitude. I think comfort on our flight there is more important than the flight home. Thank you!

Next June, the Equinox will be in Europe. I’d be happy to cruise cheap too, especially on Celebrity!

Are you doing the Barcelona to Rome itinerary? We have that booked on the Equinox next June.

My friends took me into the retreat to check it out. Nobody else was in there. I certainly wouldn’t have started helping myself to a seafood buffet or stayed of others were there. They also had us in their suite a few times and invited us to join them one night for dinner, which they were charged for. It worked, we booked a suite before we were off the ship!

We aren’t big drinkers so one will be sufficient before lunch. Lol I think we’re planning to leave ours by 10 and it’s a 20-25 minute drive.

Just two more days until we get to try MSC and the yacht club for the first time. Super excited!! I understand we can show up at the port whenever we want and I believe someone will be at the tent around 10. Correct? My question is, is there any benefit to getting there early? Like, if we get there at 10 would we get in the ship any sooner than if we get there around 10:30-10:45? Do they escort all the YC passengers at the same time or a small group at a time based on when they check in? I’ll be ready to get to Top Sail and have a cocktail as soon as possible! 😁

We’re looking at AA. Their PE seats are wider.

Our miles are on two separate credit cards. We each got one to take advantage of the bonus miles up front. If we keep the cruise we currently have booked with Celebrity, we will have to fly into Barcelona and out of Rome. We are willing to pay extra to be more comfortable, within reason. My husband is a big guy. So are you saying you flew economy but in a pay extra seat? Exit row seats are narrower than the others?

We’ll probably park first. Everything except our beach bag will be on wheels.

The luggage tags we printed have Yacht club on them.

That makes sense. But it looks like there is a YC line outside. Is there?

I’m confused. Do we drop our luggage off first or park first?

I have looked at that several times but as a novice, I found it confusing. The miles it says it requires for the various categories is way less than their website when I do a mock booking.

So you don’t see it on your way to the parking lot either?

What international partners? What’s better about them? I don’t know what J or F is. The furthest we’ve ever flown before is Aruba.

Yeah, I'm not going to worry about the weather in our decision. With my job, I have to go in the heat.
