  1. Thanks! That’s where the private tour was recommended. I came here to ask specifically about the Celebrity tour.
  2. We are looking at a tour by Italytours.eu that someone recommended. It’s quite a bit cheaper than the Celebrity tour. They do give a full refund if we don’t dock and it says guaranteed to return to ship on time, but doesn’t mention getting us to our next port in time if we miss it. The next port is Rome, where we get off so it’s quite important we don’t miss the ship so we can pack up our belongings. Here’s the description of the tour: Stunning Amalfi Coast Excursion – visit the 3 most important towns & pay less! When your cruise ship docks in Naples or Salerno, enjoy breathtaking views of the area’s beautiful setting on this semi-private shore excursion to Positano, Amalfi & Ravello. Take some amazing photos from the view point over looking Positano and explore the central Piazza dei Mulini, connected to a narrow downhill path and a few flights of steps that lead to the oceanfront. This must-see destination offers a unique opportunity to discover the natural landscapes as well as the culture of Positano. Follow narrow streets to the Church of St Maria Assunta, a great example of medieval art. Continue your trip to the charming village of Amalfi, situated right on the coast. Explore Piazza Duomo while our driver will recommend where to eat. Enjoy a traditional Italian lunch (own expense) before discovering the beauty of the magnificent Cathedral of St Andrew, named after the patron saint and protector of Amalfi. Visit the 13th-century Museo della Carta (Museum of Handmade Paper – own expense) and discover original paper presses, still preserved and in full operation. As your driver chauffeurs you around the picturesque coast of Amalfi, enjoy splendid views of the small villages and the sea as you take in the beautiful scenery. Finally, you will reach the village of Ravello. Perched on top of a mountain cliff, Ravello is famous for some of the most beautiful seaside villas in Italy. 3. Did you enjoy it? Did you have a guide in Pompeii? Did you stop at Positano at all? It’s $270 pp, but we do have a lot of OBC. Here’s their description: Your private adventure begins at the port in Naples where you'll board a private charter for a scenic drive along the coast with your knowledgeable guide. Along the way, you'll catch a glimpse of Mount Vesuvius, the tallest of a row of volcanoes visible from the coast. After a brief respite in Positano, your journey continues onward to the fabled town of Sorrento. Sorrento served as the backdrop for numerous Mediterranean myths and legend, and you'll get the opportunity to explore the iconic, picturesque destinations. Our coastal trek concludes with a stop in the ancient city of Pompeii. As we clear the city's gates, you'll feel as if you've been transported back to 79 AD. Rustic and full of character, you'll marvel at the stunning architecture and warmth of the locals. Highlights Take in awe-inspiring views of the Amalfi Coast's stunning landscape on a private drive. Visit the preserved sites in the ancient city of Pompeii. Explore the fabled town of Sorrento, which is the site of many local legends. Did you travel by train from Rome to the Amalfi Coast? How long did it take? We haven’t decided how many days we can stay after our cruise. We want at least 2-3 in Rome. If we can stay longer, we aren’t sure if we should head to Venice or the Amalfi Coast.
  4. I did turn my phone upside down, no worries. Thanks for sharing! I had to look up Comic-Con to see what it was. Lol
  5. Both of you have fun! We still have 27 days.
  6. We have AAdvantage credit cards, but have recently started using them so we don’t have tons of miles. (Under 70k on each currently) Can we purchase an economy seat and use miles to upgrade to premium economy or purchase premium economy to upgrade to business class from Charlotte to Barcelona and Rome (or Venice) to Charlotte?
  7. What options will we have for coffee? I understand they don’t have specialty coffees like cafe mocha and such, but do have cappuccino. I’ve never had a cappuccino. Do they offer alternatives such as almond or oat milk for those? Do they have creamers?
  8. Do you have any pictures to share? We are planning Florence day 1 and this private tour day 2. However, we are staying in the ship. It seems crazy to pay for the retreat and not go back to the ship to enjoy it. Still yet to be seen if we will add Venice at the end of our trip. We’ll know more once plane tickets open for our dates so we can see how much they will cost.
  9. Looking at this tour: Small Group: Exclusive Tour of Italy's Amalfi Coast. What does small group mean? Has anyone taken this tour? Just wondering if it actually takes us into Positano. The description only says a brief respite there so I’m doubting it.
  10. Does anyone have current pricing for their hair salon? On my last Celebrity cruise they had a good price for three blowouts, which I quite enjoyed, although I didn’t like the way he styled my hair as well as I do it myself. However, just having someone to wash and blow dry it was awesome. I may also be interested in an updo on gala night.
  11. We aren’t high level, just a deluxe suite. I don’t want a $20 bottle of wine. I’ll let dh pick out something we can take to his brothers after the cruise.
  12. What’s the best red wine we can request?
  13. My husband won’t be able to sleep if it’s too hot. Thanks for the advice!
  14. So you think the cheapest time to buy is when they first come out? I didn’t realize we could upgrade with points. I’d have to save a lot of money to drive away from here before a long flight. I didn’t realize they could change a nonstop flight to a connecting flights after they sold tickets, especially since you pay a premium for the non-stop flights.
  15. Yeah, if the weathers nice I will be much more likely to be on the pool deck than the spa.
  16. So we don’t need reservations to use the thermal area of the spa? That would be ideal, because I’m not a huge spa person so it would be like, nothing better to do, let’s go.
  17. Do yacht club guests need reservations to use the spa?
  18. I use a clean one every day. I don't want to bring that many with me. From what I've heard, it's not going to be a problem getting them in the yacht club, but I will bring disposable wipes just in case.
  19. Sure am! Charlotte, NC! lol We can buy those here as well, but I don't like them. I buy cloths made specifically for the removal of makeup, with my makeup remover, followed by my face wash. I also have a liquid eye makeup remover I use with cotton pads.
