  1. You would think they’d put their YC guests at their best beach.
  2. I guess I was referring to the carousel lounge, but just found out the Seaside doesn't have this. Thank you. I will book once we're onboard.
  3. I heard the YC beach is rocky and nearly unusable now. I’m hoping this is not true.
  4. Great, thanks! It said we have to make reservations for the show. Is that correct?
  5. Thanks! That is very helpful. Disappointed I don’t see any good coffee drinks. I’ll just bring the chocolate flavored collagen powder we put in our coffee at home.
  6. We love to bask in the sun to work on our tans.
  7. Enjoy! We will be visiting family an hour and a half from Port Canaveral, which is what prompted this last minute booking.
  8. Yes! We felt we were getting a lot more for our money, not just with the upgraded room but also the yacht club perks. It only took a few hours to get my husband to spend the extra cash.
  9. Could someone please share the current wine list? We will be on the Seaside in the yacht club if that makes any difference. It appears that includes the best drink package. We love a nice glass of wine with dinner, which is always a struggle with “included” wines on a ship. We are even willing to pay an up charge if there is an option for a good Cabernet or Bordeaux by the glass. My husband enjoys a nice glass of whiskey in the evening. What are the best included in our package? Do they have specialty coffee drinks? Like cafe mocha and such?
  10. I don’t know, rude people are always rude.
  11. While the Havana area sounded very appealing, we ended up booking the yacht club with MSC. It was only a little over a thousand more to have a deluxe suite verses and interior Havana cabin. We figured with all the included perks with the yacht club the Carnival cruise would end up costing as much. We’re excited to try the suite life! Also, sailing out of Port Canaveral is way more convenient than Miami!
  12. So no COVID testing to get on the ship? I know I didn’t have to on Celebrity in December.
  13. 🤣 As a current educator I completely agree! A child’s failing, many blame the teacher. Behavior issues, most parents are completely blind to how their child behaves when they aren’t around. And the clothes they send them to school in now, my dad wouldn’t have let me walk out of the house in! I sometimes wonder if the parents think they wear something over those sports bras while they are in school. Most have an OPEN zip up hoodie on with them. Can’t dress code anymore or the parents throw a fit so we were told not to.
  14. From what I’ve read, I doubt we will spend much time outside of the YC. We will venture out for shows or other entertainment. That’s what we booked. Yes, we only paid about 60% for a deluxe suite in YC (7 night) compared to what we paid for June 2024 sky suite for 9 nights. And the Celebrity cruise is on the Equinox so no retreat pool. These will be our first suite experiences and will see if we find Celebrity worth the extra $. We had no complaints with Celebrity in Concierge or Aqua class. I would say the entertainment on X is their weakness so I’m happy to hear it’s better with MSC. What didn’t you like about Seaside? How do you go about getting the status match? Not that we have anything special because we started with Carnival and aren’t brand loyal. The live music in their lounge be a nice plus! Any other bars we should try? For instance, we like the Martini bar and World class bar on Celebrity.
  15. I don’t believe we have ever purchased it before. However, we did for this cruise and our upcoming Mediterranean cruise due to the cost and with flights involved and all.
  16. In normal circumstances no, but if one of us were sick enough to possibly have it I would test before a cruise so I wouldn’t spend it to someone that may not tolerate it as well.
  17. I see we have to pay for some shows. What’s up with that? Are they worth it?
  18. We will be taking our first cruise with MSC and will be in the yacht club. Do they have some sort of formal night on a 7 night cruise? Will my husband be required to wear a jacket or will a dress shirt and tie suffice? He doesn’t currently own a jacket that fits and refuses to buy one to wear once. What do most men wear in the YC dining room other evenings? I’m not worried about myself, but dh just likes to be comfortable. Are there any special events we need to plan for, such as a white party? Any tips for a first timer?
  19. At our age we never felt the need for medical insurance. However, with COVID you never know if you will catch it and not be able to go.
  20. Thanks for all the details! The elevator thing sounds awesome! Hopefully the stars align for us at some point during the cruise.
  21. Nice way to spend your milestone birthday! I agree about special occasions! We will be on Celebrity for our 30th anniversary next summer.
