  1. I have read in various brochures that the Voyager class ships have Chops Grille, the sushi place and Portofino but when I look at the deck plan I can only locate Portofino?

Also, at a travel show I attended recently the RCI rep said there was the possibility of a dining package deal including the Chef's Table and specialty dining. Was that available on your trip?

Thank you for your review, I followed it very closely.

    God bless you:)

Thanks! Glad that you enjoyed it.

Unfortunately, the Voyager of the Seas only has Portofino at the moment. This should change after her drydock scheduled for 2014.

Other Voyager class ships like the Mariner have been to the drydock recently and they have had the upgrades.

  2. Wow! What a great review and wonderful pics. Thank you. I am a first time cruiser and will be on this ship in Sydney on the New Zealand cruise in December as well and we are very excited.

I just booked my cabin 2 weeks ago and all the E1 cabins for three are already sold out except for a couple on deck 6.

Can you please tell me if there is a refrigerator in the cabin?

Btw, the food and menu looks good. :-) I'll have to lose a few kgs before I get on so I can eat all those calories.

Which sailing in December would you be on?

Yes, we diet and lose weight so as in order to go cruising and to eat!

While on the ship, we were also 'gym maniacs'. While my kids were in the kids' club, wifey and I were pounding the threadmill. No harm doing a 30 minute run on the threadmill almost every day. Keeps the metabolism high and we have more energy to play harder later on!

Is there a refrigerator? There was one in our Junior Suite. But I'm not very sure if there are refrigerators in other cabins. I think yes.

Can anybody help us out here?

  3. Thanks so much for the great review, we are on Voyager in October, and staying in Singapore for a few days prior, have noted down your suggestions for what to do while we are there and very much looking forward to seeing your lovely City!

    Welcome to Singapore!

Don't miss our latest attraction - Gardens by the Bay!

I haven't been there myself but should be going within the next couple of months. Friends and colleagues who have been there say that it is absolutely awesome!

  4. Thanks for the link.. yes is Legend Of The Seas trip to Malacca last year. This year we sail Sg to Phuket just before you.I did check the RC web seem like till next year for Asian trip they only have LOTS. Can I just check how much u paid for the trip inc air tkt ? thanks

Mariner itineraries have not been announced. Look out for them.

How much I paid, for the Voyager 8 night sailing to Shanghai?

We booked the cruise through RCI website direct. It was under $7,000SGD for 4 of us in a JS. As for flight, it was 600+ per passenger for the one way flight back from Shangai. We flew with Cathay so has to transit in Hong Kong.

Flying direct non-stop on SQ or China Eastern would be significantly more expensive.

If you book the Singapore-shanghai sailing through royal Caribbean Singapore office, they do packaged deals with airfare and hotel stay in Shanghai included. I don't know the cost though.

  5. Wow really !!! will discuss with my family .. Mariner bigger than LOTS ? We sailed LOTS last year we still pefer VOTS.. haha

'LOTS' - are you referring to Legend of the Seas or Liberty of the Seas?

Legend is a Vision class ship (70,000 GT) while Liberty is a Freedom class ship (150,000GT).

    Voyager and Mariner are sister-ships.

    See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MS_Mariner_of_the_Seas

Mariner was recently refurbished. I'm quite keen to sail on her!!

  6. Regards this breakfast area for Gold Pass, is that people on the first rung of the Crown & Anchor- ie Gold level?

Did it still use the same buffet?

Where did the higher level C&A passengers sit? Just curious.:)

No, no. Gold Seapass card holders are definitely not the same as Gold level on C&A. :)

Gold seapass card holders are only given to guests staying in Grand Suite and above, as well as Pinnacle Club members.

To answer your other question, yes the food from the same buffet line. Gold seapass card holders just have an exclusive seating area. This is very useful because the Windjammer does get very crowded in the mornings, especially on Port Days. You may not always get a seat!
