  1. It is all going to depend on how many children are on your cruise and how many register for Camp Carnival. On our recent B2B on the Glory there were so few kids that they automatically kept two age groups together.

It never hurts to ask when you go to Camp Carnival the first evening. The worse they can say is no.

  2. Does anyone know if there are still sugar free deserts. We will be on the Liberty in a couple of weeks. My husband is diabetic and always looks forward to the deserts more than the main course.

We sailed on the Glory in December for the first week of the new menus. My mother-in-law is diabetic. The sugar free choices are not listed on the menu but she asked and they brought her out something every night that was sugar free. just ask your server.

  3. Guess we will wait to find out what they leave for her. A gift is a gift plus we are on a cruise so what is not to be happy about!

She is most excited to have a sail and sign card the same color as her Nana and Pawpaw. The priorities of a 6 yr old:)

  4. A Platinum cruiser who is traveling with children under 18 can get each child a $5 game credits. We just went to the casino and they will ask you the child's name and cabin number. The children do not have to be platinum.

  5. The current gift is the cooler tote bag which is very nice. We got 4 of them on our B2B in December.

The $5 in game tokens is nice. She has been getting those since we became Platinum.

We were just hoping for the possibility for a Platinum gift that a 6 yr old would like. We do realize it is a gift so we aren't complaining....just hoping!

  6. We were on the B2B with the first week being the old menus and the second being the new. Overall our experience with the new dining was positive. We were a group of 5 (4 adults and 1 child). My mother-in-law is a diabetic and they took the sugar free option off of the new menu so every night she had to ask if they had something sugar free. A few nights all they had was ice cream.

My concern about the shared dishes is they don't seem to be prepared if only one person at the table wants the item. My husband is the only one of us who eats calamari but the serving was meant for several people. Also the pie a-la-mode was for the table and could not be ordered in a serving size for one. We were all family so it wasn't the thought of sharing from the same dish but more portion sizes for how many wanted the item.

I have to agree that the S'mores parfait was AMAZING and we are still talking about it. The best dessert we have ever had on a Carnival cruise. We also loved the Port of Call selections.

  7. My granddaughter has been cruising since she was 3 yrs old (she is now 6) She loves Camp Carnival but eating dinner with them is one thing she does not enjoy. The dinner situation seems a bit chaotic. I thoroughly feel safe dropping her off at Camp Carnival but I am a bit nervous at dinner. She has gone to dinner twice and the second time they called me to come get her. She was so upset. She has never wanted to do dinner with them again.

We sail tomorrow for her 8th and 9th cruises so we will see if she will give it a try this time.

We love everything else about Camp Carnival!

  8. We also have a private tour booked. We are going to visit a school to drop odd supplies we have brought and so our 6 yr old granddaughter can see how their schools look.

We will also be visiting the monkeys as this is a favorite with our granddaughter.

  9. We used Boden tours last time we were in Roatan and we were told that they had never missed a ship yet. They are extremely professional. We are doing a private tour with them this time and we are extremely excited.

My FIL has health issues (bad back) and he was easily able to walk from The ship to meet our tour guide last time. Like others have said after the tour you will be dropped off as close as they can. You will still have to walk across the port complex to board the ship.
