Larnaca - Gatwick 13.35 land 16.50Got a revised invoice for 18th September from Manchester showing flight times
Manchester- Larnaca 08.15 land 15.00 TUI 2660

Seems strange that a number of TAs I just checked aren't showing Jewel cruises out of Limassol athough RCCL website is still showing cruises as available. There are many balcony cabins available which is a bit concerning. I received an invoice today showing a recent change I made to our Sept 18th cruise, it also showed flight timing for the first time.

Just had an invoice from RCI. Our flights from Manchester are now showing. We are booked on a direct TUI flight to Lanarca. Flight times are good. Departing at 7.45 from Manchester and arriving Lanarca14:15. Return 15.40 Arrive 18:55.
Thanks for posting. Hope those flights are the same timing in September

I got told that the flight times given are just a placeholder and that actual flights will be given 30 days prior.
They told my TA that they are hoping to charter flights hence the waiting til 30 days prior to gauge if they have enough people for a charter.
After looking at Skyscanner I saw the flights detailed by an earlier poster, and came to the conclusion that Royal will probably be chartering a flight or two from the UK and may need to pick up passengers at more than one airport. What will be will be, and at least we will be cruising (hopefully)

Having booked Jewel out of Cypus for September, the invoice arrived today. It does say the flights are provisional, but it's showing Manchester departure at 7am landing at Larnaca at 4pm. I was surprised to see Larnaca rather than Paphos, but there will be very little difference in the transfer time. What did surprise me was the arrival time being 2 hours later than I would have expected even allowing for the time difference. It makes me wonder if two flights are involved or that we may land somewhere to pick up extra passengers. I usually book cruise only, so am not familiar with fly cruise arrangements. Has anybody any ideas about this ?(bearing in mind it will all be conjecture) TIA

Yes, a lot of people are saying it's a hassle to get to the Bahamas and then get to the cruise port, but to me that's part of the "adventure". I can fly nonstop from DCA and I'm sure it's easy enough to get a taxi or a transfer to downtown Nassau. I don't expect check-in to go as smooth as Port of Miami, but I don't let minor inconveniences bring me down.
These cruises probably won't be as cheap as normal cruises, but if you can afford the flights and cruise fare and don't mind a few hiccups along the way, go for it.
We've embarked in multiple ports throughout the world, and sorry to say, Miami was the most chaotic

Me too. UK, US or European TA depending on price

It seems almost unanimous that flying in the day before is preferable. This could explain why flying on the Saturday was £200pp cheaper than Friday. We weren't fussy either way, so chose the cheaper option

Thank you for this and the subsequent link, though perhaps I can mention that the link says it covers ages 50 to 74 (not 79), so does not leave long for us as already 71, but would be very useful this year as we have both had health issues, though non likely to be big problems.
EDIT
Looking into it and looks like it would be £375 for a couple for the year and once you join you can carry on irrespective of age. We both have public sector experience with pensions to prove it. Looks like COVID is fully covered as well, but need to check small print. Also seem to get free English Heritage membership and other benefits too. Not looked into cruises yet though, so need to check they are covered.
We have free insurance from our bank, but feel insurance extra cost for health conditions is more than extra price with paid for policies.
I didn't realise the age limit has changed since we started the insurance two years ago. I'm not renewing with them this year as my only medical condition is osteoarthritis, but I'll probably look at rejoining before I'm 75 "just in case" of any health problems

Trouble is, unless I am doing something wrong, cannot find any information about travel insurance policy and conditions until you have actually joined so no idea what is covered and at what cost. Having said that if it runs from April to April and is the same price whenever you join it would mean for me paying a full years premium for only 7 months as my renewal is September.
Maybe this link will help?

Someone on another site says that if you have worked for the Civil Service or Local Authority you can usually get annual travel insurance for £295 with no questions about medical conditions. I think you have to join the Civil Service Sports club at a cost of about £40 but sounds good for those of us with medical problems. As I have previously worked for the Civil Service and as a teacher I shall look into it in July when the balance is due for our October cruise. The deposit is very low so I would sooner risk losing that then have to start annual insurance now when the cruise may not go ahead
I took out the Civil Service Sports Club annual travel policy so we didn't have to declare my (late) husband's health conditions. You get full cover providing you aren't travelling against medical advice, so it was reassuring that in the event of a claim they wouldn't try to wriggle out of paying. A couple of things to be aware of........
1.Everybody's policy runs from 1st April regardless of when you contact them to start the policy
2. They will only cover those under 79 unless the policy starts before that age in which case they will cover you indefinitely
It's certainly worth looking into if you have ever been in government service eg. teaching, nursing, Civil Service and others

Our Brilliance 8 night cruise due to depart on 22 August has been totally cancelled. No offer to transfer it to the same itinerary on Indy at a later date. Just $200 obc if we book any 7 night Caribbean cruise departing 2021. I don't think so when prices are $254 pp more despite being a night less . Not the way to retain customers, Royal.

Egypt for me. After a day relaxing in the sun, I'd be packing ready to fly home tomorrow

Way to go, LucyR ! I'd love to see your sons face when you tell him you are now a proud shareholder😁

Fully expecting our June Discovery cruise to be cancelled, but knowing that we probably won't have confirmation until two weeks prior to sailing date I looked at booking the same cruise/same date/ same grade of cabin for 2021. It would cost over £600pp more than we paid this year. Much as I would like to help Tui weather the storm, that is not going to happen and I will be requesting a full refund. Failing that, I will be contacting my credit card company for reimbursement and they can take up the battle with Tui.

We bought 100 shares last week for £6.02 per share feeling that it wasn't a great deal to lose in worst case scenario. They are currently trading at £8.986 presumably up since Saudi Arabia bought an 8.2% share in Carnival. We use iWeb Sharedealing but I see they aren't accepting new customers at the moment

I apologize if I get this thread closed. But, here is a calendar of what I as a US citizen was hearing and seeing from January to mid March. How can anyone know how serious things where?

Brummijam - no I don't We have moved our cruise 23rd June to November and we got a good discount
i was just saying do not cancel and carry on as if you were going and you'll get your money back
People must have the money available to pay balances or they would have lost their cruise through default so what's the difference if you get it back nearer to the time of your cruise departure? I just don't understand They can't pay everybody back at once and I wouldn't want them to go bust TUI will be insured in case they can't sail but won't be able to claim unless the Government advice says so
Their website now says if you book a cruise you will not have to pay the balance until 4 weeks before sailing so that they don't have a problem with refunds They are not trying to hold on to everyone's money they are trying to deal with it chronologically and people cance
PS anyone over the age of 70 or wth underlying health problems can cancel with a full refund if their cruise sails before the end of June - its on the website but nobody seems to read it
Please can you add a link to the section on the Marella website which says you can cancel with a full refund if you are 70 or have an underlying health condition? I've trawled the site but can only see that anybody due to sail before 30th June can amend to another cruise or holiday for free. Thanks

I'm registered with iWeb sharedealing online. I think it currently costs £25 to join then £5 per transaction. There may be cheaper ways of buying but I find the iWeb Share dealing site easy to buy and sell shares

I can't believe nobody replied to this after seeing the discussions on other boards. I thought Costa were part of Carnival Cruiselines?

We had a similar cabin on Legend and loved everything about it. We could hear the beat of the music from the lounge below but not enough to disturb us, and I'm VERY sensitive to noise
