  1. The most heartwarming thing I have ever seen on a cruise was a single father cruising with his down syndrome daughter. She looked to be in her late teens. . It made my day to see them having breakfast together every morning, walking the jogging track, but the best waswhen they were at the Zumba classes on the pool deck every morning!

She would do her best to keep up and Dad was right there next to her. I thoroughly enjoyed my morning coffee watching them work out together. The joy on her face was contagious. Formal night was another treat. She was all dressed up and Dad wore his tux. Seeing them every day made my vacation twice as enjoyable.

  2. That happened to me also. I think I was exposed at breakfast on the last day. I got home started my first day of training for a new job and came down with a 103 fever. I had remembered the woman sitting next to me st breakfast saying her husband skipped breakfast because he wasn't feeling well. We are going on AOS in May and even thought I've had my flu shot, I'm concerned. I am on my last of 12 chemo treatments. I haven't had any immunity issues so far. I hope it stays that way. I do intend to bring and wear face masks, especially when we fly. The flu is so bad in our area, we have had lots of healthy children die from it! So sad! Wash your hands people!!! I always make sure we get the flu shot a few weeks before any cruise. It takes a minimum of 2 weeks to become effective.

  3. Bradsnana: Amen sister!!! I too go absolutely bonkers and am very vocal when I hear or observe a cruiser being condescending in any way towards staff (all of whom work their butts off to please ‘we the cruisers’. And honestly, how many of us would ever put in the kind of slave labor hours they do and receive the minuscule paychecks they receive?. Very very few, if any. And yes, I know they are very grateful for those jobs and the pay is more than they could ever get at ‘Home’. Not the point. I’ve been absolutely sick inside and ashamed that we humans can treat others as we do and not afraid one bit to stand up for any crew staff who I feel has been verbally abused. As Oprah says, “ if we know better, we do better”. Entitled brats come in all range and sizes, right?

Ok, off my soapbox. Just that I was so tickled at your last comment, had to chime in my two cents.

    My thoughts EXACTLY!

  4. I have found that the rudest of people I have seen are the Diamond, Diamond Plus and above. Now let me also state...NOT ALL ARE RUDE!!! I have just seen a great many.

I have an extremely hard time watching these people try to throw their weight around, belittle staff, cut in line, make demands, and threaten to withhold tips because they have sailed more than the average person. Not all of us can afford to sail 3/4 of the year. IMO, those of us that work hard all year and choose to spend our money on a vacation should receive the same respect and service as those who think they are better because they are wealthy.

A laptop in the MDR is just plain rude....no excuse

Uncontrollable kids are the worst, I taught mine respect. Something kids now days are severely lacking

Pushing your way onto the elevator UGH!

Blowing your nose on the floor!!!! OH MY GOD!

Sex in the pool.....save that for a Carnival ship

If you intentionally hit me with your scooter or wheelchair...I will turn around and say something.

If you are handicapped, I will give up my space for you willingly

I think as I get older I'm 53, I have less tolerance for rudeness and b*ll****. I will call you out if you are rude!

The incident with the gay man assaulting the waiter...You can bet I would have come to his aid in a hot second!

  5. I'll never forget the time we were in line for Johnny Rockets to open for lunch. There was a nice orderly line with the exception of one woman. The people who were in line went in at opening and got their seats. The wait staff started to take everyone orders. This woman, who came in after all those waiting proceeded to throw a hissy fit because she had to wait.

She went so far as making them call in the head manger of all the restaurants to complain. All of us witnessing this just shook our heads. I remember saying something loud enough for her to hear but can't for the life of me remember what it was. The crew members work very hard...they don't need an entitled brat throwing a temper tantrum. It just makes me insane when I see passengers berating the crew!

  6. Does anyone have any reviews or thoughts on the VIVO Beach Club? It's on the the list of RCCL excursions. Just wondering if it is kid friendly. I have an 11 year old grandson coming with us in December.

  7. I just checked my upcoming cruise's "Cruise Planner", and I can confirm it's no longer listed as an option.

RCCL just revamped all their excursions. This is the time of year they renegotiate with the tour companies. If they have lots of complaints, they will drop those companies and sign new ones. I'm quite happy with the new excursions offered for our March 2016 Oasis cruise.
