  1. We were on this cruise. Had a great time. Private tour in Cartagena to see senior center and day care center as well as downtown walking tour was great. Let me know if you want contact info. Also Indy tour to Embera tribe in Panama.

We were Aqua and enjoyed Blu and Persian Gardens.

    Happy to answer any questions.

  2. Unless you had the adventure first and used the sea days to recoop from them.

We want to book a 2015 Trans. Anyone know when the itineraries for them will be posted? There are many other 2015 cruises but not the trans...

  3. If we want to do our own tipping is it better to do as part of the onboard account or in cash? Can cash be given to attendants (room and table) at the end of the cruise? How do others who like to control their tipping handle it?

  4. If you only have 60 points on your X Capt's Club account that indicates you only had two old credits from the Azamara cruises since it is part of that program.

Your Select status must have come from you being Platinum on RC Crown & Anchor so you must have at least 30 points on that program. It would be quicker to get Diamond status on RCI, since you get one point per day for a balcony cabin or less and two for a JS or higher. You only need 80 points to get that status on RCI and can use that to get reciprocity Elite status on X. ;)

You can check your RC Crown & Anchor status points at

We have Platinum status and 45 points on C&A.

  5. It all depends how you got to be X Select. Did it get because you were Platinum on RC or did it result from your Azamara cruises. Credits on both are not combinable. I would need to know your actual sailing history to determine this.

Look at your Capt's Club account by logging on at

to see how many points you currently have there, then add 55 points, 11 nights X 5 points, for the AQ cruise and 21 points, 7 X 3, for the veranda cruise. If this totals 300 or more points after the first or both next cruises you are Elite and will have that status on the next cruise..

Thanks, Bob. They have only credited us 60 points for our past cruises (I'm guessing on RCCL) so when I add the 55 and the 21 to that it only comes to 136. We will need another 32 nights (and that would be all in AQ) to get to Elite. Seems like a lot of "work" for a free bag of laundry. :)

  6. We are sailing next week on Equinox in AQ. We have sailed maybe 30 days on RCCL and Azamara and thought we were getting some kind of credit or recognition for that on Celebrity. Our reservation says we are select. After this 11 day cruise in AQ and a seven day June cruise in a verandah will we qualify for Elite? I sent an email to captains club about a week ago to ask but have not received a reply.

  7. I realize I should have been MUCH more clear and specific. There are three Celebrity Cruises I am currently looking at for either 2014 or 2015. The Three Continent Transatlantic Cruise goes in November from Rome to FLL on the Constellation. The Japan Jubilee cruise goes in September from Vancouver to Yokohama on the Millennium. The other Transpacific (I think it is just called Transpacific, no catchy name) is in May from Tokyo to Vancouver. Thank you all for your comments and suggestions.

  8. I couldn't find a transatlantic or transpacific category so if this question belongs elsewhere please let me know and I will repost:

We are considering either a Transatlantic or Transpacific cruise. Transatlantic would be November between FLL and Canary Islands, Spain, Morocco and Italy. Transpacific would be April or May between Vancouver and Russia, Japan/Korea.

What should we expect in terms of weather for either of these cruises? With all those sea days we don't want to be going when it is too cold to be outside.

  9. I understand that in an Aqua cabin we will be given free/included bottled water and tea (iced?) every day. Also a bottle of champagne on embarkation? Are there any other beverages included at Aqua level? In Blu, I assume coffee is included. How about espresso, can you get espresso in Blu either for breakfast or dinner? What is the charge for that do you think?

  10. We will be in Georgetown on Celebrity in January and I'd like to just go and sit on the beach and wade in the water. I would need a beach chair and umbrella. Any suggestions on what beach to go to, how to get there and how to arrange for chairs and umbrella (what to expect for cost?)? If we are better off using a tour to do this let me know, but I suspect not.

    Thanks!

  11. We are three siblings planning a Bermuda cruise in June. The spouse of one of us has metastasized cancer which is the whole reason for this trip…. it's on her bucket list. We recognize that there is a significant risk she may not be able to go. If she can't go, none of us wants to go. We just booked the trip yesterday and realize we may need to buy the insurance quickly. Can someone give us advice on the best insurance to buy in this scenario? We are cruising on Celebrity if that makes any difference.

  12. We are doing an independent tour to the Embera Indian Village in Colon when we go through Panama on the Ultimate Caribbean Cruise in January on the Celebrity Equinox. The tour company wants to know which port we will be docking in. Does anyone know?

  13. I booked a few days ago and told them I wanted the shipboard credit. Now I'm thinking maybe to switch to the beverage package... is it possible to change? Also wondering.... small question.... "premium bottled water" is not included. Is there non-premium sparkling water?

If I'm not able to switch to the beverage package what should I expect to pay for soft drinks, coffees, premium water, beer and wine?

    Thanks,
