  1. I assumed when you said stupidly priced it meant cheap with no perks as it is a "re positioning" cruise. I just checked the Transpacific with Borabora and it is what I consider really expensive. $4500 for a Veranda is $250 per night. That is really high for that type of cruise. Otherwise it looks good and I am considering it since I just got off a cruise and gave a $100 deposit for any cruise from May 2020 to April 2021. Is the price likely to drop significantly?

  2. We are also getting off reflection tomorrow. However, we need to get to the rental cars at the airport since we are staying in Fort Lauderdale for a week. I understand they don't allow Uber at Fort Lauderdale Airport. Can you Uber there to the rental car place from the Fort Lauderdale port? Is it better or cheaper or quicker than a taxi? Thanks.

  3. From my understanding of the rumors that I have heard the people in question have some issues that are not life-threatening but are creating a great deal of discomfort and pain. I don't think we will be docked and staying in Port for 24 hours. I believe if they did that there would be a number of people that would start requesting to be allowed to get off the ship. That would create Havoc with customs and Logistics. My guess is that we will leave port and do a Cruise to Nowhere.

  4. I am on this Cruise. My wife saw the dog in question and told me about it. She said it did bark at her and others as she went by. My wife actually asked if she could pet the dog because we miss ours and the lady said no you couldn't because she was a service dog. I personally have not seen the dog since I have been on the cruise and we are now at day nine.

  5. Personally I think it is a lot of travelling for a short time in Granada (its spelt with an a not an e by the way). If you really want to go I would do the ships excursion in case of the notorious traffic delays - your ship will wait for one of its own tours but may not if you are on an excursion by a different company.

Thanks. I'm currently booked on a Spain Day tour to Alhambra on October 26th and they sent this notice today: "I am writing to you today to let you know that there are currently Road Improvement Works taking place on the road to and from Granada . These have just started now and are due to continue until the end of October. At the moment, it seems that this is adding about 20 minutes in drive-time each way, which means that depending on the circumstances on the day of travel, we are not likely to be able to visit the Granada city center during the free time, and will have to spend it around the Alhambra . Our utmost priority is to make sure we are on time, and due to traffic issues and drop off restrictions in the Granada city center, we are not likely to be able to include a visit to the Granada city center due to the added delays in traffic"

Based on your advice that it is a long trip without the delay I decided I will cancel this tour and just stay in Malaga.

  6. I know the mini bar is not included in your Beverage package but if you have the Premium package are all cocktails and wines by the glass included if you order room service for breakfast (they show Champagne Mimosa, Bloody Mary and even Fresh Squeezed OJ as extra cost) and all the specialty cocktails or wines offered at all the specialty restaurants? ( I understand if they go over $15 you pay the difference) They show some Wines by the glass in Qsine, Cocktails and Special Beers at Sushi on Five, after dinner Liquors, Specialty coffee and dessert Wines at Tuscan Grill and I wonder if they are all included?

  7. I had a flight change for my upcoming cruise. I booked my flights through Choice Air. I just happened to notice, when I printed my cruise docs from the Celebrity website that the flight number of my originating flight did not match what the flight number my Airline App said. I looked at my original confirmation from about 6 months ago and it also had the same flight Celebrity was still showing.

I called choice Air to clarify which flight I was on. (the airline showed two flights 1/2 hour apart). Choice Air looked it up and said "oh, I see your flight was changed by the carrier. We need to update it."

So, Choice Air had the information, they just never got around to letting me know. Moral of the story? Use your confirmation codes to check your flights directly on the airline you are booked with. Don't count on Choice Air to inform you of any changes.

  8. I took my picture with a white background by just standing in front of a white wall in my house and took a selfie. It worked fine. I used chrome and was already signed into the Celebrity web site so it had my bookings listed. I went to check in and it had a place to upload the photo. I did this for both my wife and I. No problems. The funny thing is that when you print your sea pass from the site after you go through all of this it doesn't use the picture on the pass. I assume the picture you upload will be used for your "official" Sea Pass when they give you one at port check in.

  9. I'm embarking on the Equinox on 10/15 for an 8-day itinerary. I wanted to purchase a 4-night specialty dining package to sample a few different restaurants. I could have sworn I saw this option on the website for sale last week. As of today, only 5-night or greater packages are available. Are they even available? Should I call to book a 4 night package? Is there any advantage to wait until embarkation to book one?

My understanding is that when they remove the options for the fewer nights pre-purchased deals it is because they sold out their quota for that deal. I also don't think they sell multiple night deals on board. They do however, offer discounts on a day by day basis for Specialty restaurants that have openings that evening. If you stop by the buffet area each morning I think that is where they hawk them.

  10. My son is a professional musician. He is talented enough to have a full time well paying gig with a large Symphony Orchestra. As a parent of a performance artist, I was always aware of the difficulties and pitfalls of trying to make a living following your passion. I also have a friend that was one of my sons teachers who works as a full time performer on Cunard Ships. I see complaints about some of the performers or acts on various ships. I fully realize there can be a large range of talent from performer to performer. That said, I always try to keep in mind most of the people are working really hard and trying to earn a living for themselves and their families. (I always tip the performer in what ends up being my favorite bar or hang out)

  11. The people I most admire in the Celebrity entertainment area are the backing musicians for the various artists. Often they only have a couple of hours to rehearse a gig and each night they turn out flawless performances. Some of the up front performers less so. That said there have been some pretty fantastic performers on board cruise ships
You are correct. Because of the amount of excellent musicians and the few professional jobs in top Symphony in orchestras it leads a lot of talented people out there available to perform on these ships. When my son goes to auditions for top Symphony there are at least 100 people auditioning for that one spot and those are only the ones they chose to allowed to audition
