Think weather in NY in January and February.
I mean what makes our Winter weather (I'm from South Jersey) bad for the ship itself that it will likely be moving south in 2013. Sorry that I didn't make myself clear. :)

Pardon my lack of cruise ship construction/power knowledge, but what makes Explorer unsuitable for Late Autumn through Early Spring in Bayonne?
-
The mountain of produce on the table in Bermuda as we were walking from the ship to the dockyard was pretty darn high.

Thanks Dick and Mari,
Looks like we booked a cruise on her for next summer just in time. Explorer was our first one this summer and our second next summer. Here's hoping that she stays close enough so that it won't be our last on her for awhile.

I know this was posted a while back, but I read on here that at the end of 2012, Explorer is moving south. Is this confirmed and ifso, where and what ship is moving to Bayonne? Thanks for the help and apologies for not remembering the answer to these questions from earlier.

The cake demo was awesome!!! I got picked from the audience to participate. Jimmy Rhodes, the cruise director, was just hilarious!!!

Only been on one cruise so far, but for the week or so after the cruise, I asked if I could have two main courses and three deserts.

Does anyone collect sand/dirt from the ports they visit and ifso, what do you have and from where?
I've only been on one cruise, but I have:
Bermuda- Snorkel Park sand...not the most exotic stuff, but it's a start. I'll get more exotic beaches next summer...hopefully.
St. Martin- Happy Beach...really cool looking stuff...losts of darker tans, black and gray colored particles and a few rocks
Puerto Rico- Dirt...mud right now...from the El Yunque Rainforest and a few rocks.
In St. Thomas, I didn't get close enough to the beach on our power snorkeling trip to get any sand. I will next time. Afterwards, I went searching for a quick beach before I had to get back onboard and didn't get close enough, but I was propositioned by a Charlotte Amalie hooker...yuck, but pretty funny. "Yeah, I get it. I'm cute. I'm hot. Which is it?"
Your turn!!! :)

Reading
Sleeping
Watching the ocean at either day or night
Being up as early as possible to see the first lights of the island we are traveling to and then watching us travel all the way into port. Bermuda is especially awesome at 6:00 am. It just comes out of nowhere.

I bought a Donald Duck, in a sailor suit, t-shirt with the sentence, "I'm on a Boat," above Donald. It gets a lot of looks during pre-boarding check-in and as I walk around the boat that first day.

I know I'm cruising when....first night at sea and I go out on the balcony to see nothing but darkness, some white water crashing around the boat and the "woosh" sound that it makes as we move towards our first destination. *aaaahhhh*

I thought I read on one of the threads that one of the reasons EoS was leaving Bayonne in April 2013 was because it wasn't as equipt to deal with Northeastern Winters and I was curious what was meant by that.
