  1. Our 2nd part of our B2B isn’t as good as the first. There are certainly ironing out to be done. Haines was a late arrival and when we went on tours most things were closed. It was white night and our tour didn’t get back until it was over. Due to strong winds we couldn’t tie up at the dock and had a surprise tender. We arrive at Ketchikan at 1pm. Our tour doesn’t finish until 8pm.

Now we have lost the satellite tv stations. We don’t spend must time watching but it would be nice to catch up on the news. They are planning to change the antenna in the next couple of days. The movies are just the same as the previous cruise.

Since there were no excursions offered in Dutch Harbor, did the ship at least provide a shuttle into town?

They were running free shuttles all the time to a few different spots so you could hop on and off. There was no charge.

Still not sure if the alcohol license has been reinstated yet as there was no serving until we were right out of Harbor.

The next exciting episode in the up coming days. We have one sea day before we were due into Kodiak but some serious weather is heading our way They have decided to go another route to shelter from the high seas so we are due to miss Kodiak. After seeing the footage of the Viking ship in high seas we will probably be glad that our captain is taking precautions.

All these things are are not stopping us from having a fantastic cruise.

Unbelievable, as part of RCCL you'd think someone would have known and passed down that info!

Lol, maybe they should have delivered a bottle of booze to each cabin! 😁

Two bottles of wine is enough as things should be sorted by the time we leave Dutch Harbor at 2pm. Our first stop after 3 days at sea so I think most people will get off and stretch there legs. Stunning sunny day here today. As an Aussie I was excited to see my first bald eagle.

  4. For the people who are doing Alaska we are ironing out all the problems for you. Tomorrow is our first port in Alaska and we they were told that they had to renew there alcohol serving license before they could serve alcohol in Alaskan waters. Top marks to Azamara and they provided every cabin two bottles of wine for lunch tomorrow until it’s all sorted. We had medical evacuations this morning that hasn’t changed our arrival time into Dutch Harbor tomorrow.

  5. We got an email the day after this new system started for Quest May 25th. A balcony to a continental suite started at $290 Australian per person. We initially bid an offer of $400 and received an acknowledgment email. After a few weeks we thought why not to change the bid to $500. The very next day we received a successful bid email. We are discoverer plus because we are Elite plus on Celebrity. This is our first time on Azamara. We did the same bid for May 12th but was unsuccessful.

Those of you who have been on P&O UK cruises, don't you remember during the sail away, Brit flags in hand, the pomms singing Vera Lynn's 'We'll meet again' along with God save the Queen and Britannia.

Yes so we made sure we had our Aussie flags with us. We were definitely in the minority. This was a cruise to Iceland. It was fun thou.

You just go to guest relations sometime on embarkation day of cruise 2 with the credit card you want to use. It’s so easy!

Thanks. I knew someone would have a answer for me.

  8. Just a quick B2B question. We have a documents for our first cruise but nothing for the second one. Will have to sign forms again for things like the credit card? I know we won’t need luggage tags.

  9. I submitted the form online for the B2B OBC a few times but nothing happened. When I spoke to Azamara directly it appeared the next day. We have never done a B2B before and looking forward to the new experience.

  10. I haven’t been able to get clarification on the time we are due into Victoria. We booked a shore excursion for 1.30pm and then they changed the time to 8.30am. I have talked to Azamara and also posted a question to Bonnie. I suppose being on the first Alaskan cruise they haven’t ironed out all the details yet.

Hopefully everything ends up going smoothly.

Thank you Anita. I’ll see what I can find out for you.

    Hi Bonnie,

Have you managed to get an answer for this question.

Another question. I had a message from a call centre and they said to ring back. They didn't leave a number to ring them and it didn't come from an Australian number but one from the UK. It was about some post cruise activities we could do.

    Thanks Anita

  12. Hi Bonnie,  as requested I have started a new thread about the whale watching trip that is now scheduled at a time before we arrive in port. We are due to do the trip at 8.30am but don’t arrive in port until 1.30pm.

Due to work schedules and time zone differences I haven’t been able to get hold of anyone on the phone.

Your help would be greatly appreciated to solving this mystery.

    Thanks Anita

  13. Maybe Bonnie you could find an answer to a strange shore excursion change I have had an email about. We have booked a whale watching trip in Victoria BC. This was an afternoon trip as we are scheduled to arrive at 1.30pm. We are still scheduled to arrive at that time but Azamara has changed our trip to 8.30am. This is for June 3rd. Hopefully our excursion is still on.

    Thanks Anita

  14. There was one particular entertainment staff member on the Solstice was so bad we stopped doing trivia if she was taking it. After the first bingo where she spent the whole time talking about an imaginary brother while we waited for the numbers. We just couldn’t do bingo again. It’s a shame because we try to get involved but she made it unpleasant. I don’t think we were the only ones to say this.

Great stuff, it is a wonderful way to talk all things cruising and more. We have a ACT cruisers group going with meet ups once a month at the Yacht club.

    Hi MicCanberra,

Do you allow visiting CC members to come along to your group? Our daughter has moved there to study at ANU. We will doing the odd trip there from Perth. Would love to know what you thought about the Azura and Navigator as we did them both this year as well.
