  1. RC is having a 72 hour “sale” on Anthem of the Seas. Factor in your balcony discount and OBC from TA and rates aren’t too bad.

Thank you for the heads up. Just booked Anthem in a solo guaranty inside cabin for $1,176.12 that includes prepaid gratuities for May 14, 2016. I would rather stick with Royal than go to a different line. Now I can cancel the NCL cruise I booked.

  2. So I just booked my first solo on Brilliance of the Seas leaving 1/2/2016 which I booked for my 37th birthday during cruise. I also booked the Getaway for 5/15/2016 hoping that the solo lounge will be helpful considering I'm kind of a quiet person and meeting new people makes me nervous. I'm hoping I don't need liquid courage to get involved.

  3. If you look on the port boards you can find cheap shuttles and taxi's from airport to the port. I am sailing on Navigator in September for the second time and been on Oasis in December and it was a great ship and my daughter loved it. We didn't do half the activities because there was just not enough time to do everything. If I sail again on Oasis I will make sure that the ports of call I'm not interested in and just stay on the ship.

  4. I booked a single cabin on the Brilliance for January. For a 5 night in a Studio Interior was $531.87. I thought it was a bargain for the price. I would rather do a 7 day on Royal but the prices are crazy for a solo cruiser. I think there are only a few cabins with Royal that have single cabins. Anthem, Radiance, Serenade and Brilliance have solo cabins.

  5. We stayed at: Residence Inn Fort Lauderdale Airport & Cruise Port, 4801 Anglers Ave, Dania Beach, FL 33312, (954) 989-3636. It just opened on November 2014 and it was really nice. All rooms are suites. Free breakfast and shuttle service from airport. I think it was $6.00 per person for shuttle to port.

  6. I am thinking of going on my first singles cruise in June. None of my friends can go, so I thought I would try a hosted cruise where they will match you up with a roommate (single gal on a budget!) The Carnival cruise out of Ft. Lauderdale is an 8 night cruise (which would be a first) which includes Puerto Rico - which would be another first for me. I only have one left in high school and he is going on a school trip, so time for mom to fly solo!

where did you find a hosted cruise? I'm looking for mid-late June also (anytime from June 20-28) and not many places will hook you up with a roommate to share costs.

  7. I'm sailing on my first cruise alone as none of my family and friends could go and I've always wanted to go to Alaska. I'm married and independent type, so I don't need to have my hand held, but my husband didn't want me going just alone on any cruise by myself. So I had to join a "group" to make him feel better about it.

It's a hosted trip, but not a match making romantic singles trip... just for those that are solo travelers that want to travel with like minded individuals.

We are sailing on the Crown Princess on August 15, 2015, and our group cruise has packaged the cruise with 3 shore excursions included so you aren't also in port all alone. Departs from Seattle, visiting Juneau, Ketchikan, Skagway and Victoria. The excursions are Mendhall glacier visit and hike, Ketchikan Lumberjack show, Skagway historic downtown tour and shopping, and an optional trip in Victoria to Butchart Gardens for an additional cost.

The price was great even if I'm not matched, but definitely still paying almost double if I want a cabin to myself. So I put myself on the match list and hope that works out ok. Any tips for screening a match?

    Any tips please im me.

what place did you use to book your cruise? I've been looking for something with these services and all my friends cannot afford to cruise and I refuse to not cruise just because no one knows how to save money.

  8. I used in room babysitting on my Oasis cruise in December. My daughter was 3 1/2 and it was great. My daughter refused to go to the kids club and I got a call within 15 minutes of dropping her off to pick her up. It worked out well except they only watch until midnight. Would like to have had longer but they do not offer anything past 12:00.

  9. This is the hotel I was about to book for our cruise in March. It looks nice and says it is 5 mins from the airport and. 10 mins from the cruise port.

It looks really nice. Since its so new I will write a review and take pictures and post after we get back. I got a studio King with sofa bed for our daughter. It looks very close to airport and not far from port. I looked on a map and there are places around it but we wont have time for it this trip. With the shuttle and free breakfast its one less thing to worry about. I already scheduled the shuttle on their site.

  10. I just booked Residence Inn Marriott FLL Airport and Cruise Port for my December cruise. Since we are getting in so late I'm not worried about anything close by (arriving at 10:15 pm). It says it has a complimentary breakfast, its a brand new hotel opening November 2014, free shuttle from the airport and $8.00 per person shuttle to the port. Sounds like a great deal to me.
