Ocean facing CL suites are the best staterooms on RCCL IMO. Of course their sister the Aft facing CL is a stateroom I’m surprised exists. To each their own, but there’s no way I’d want to pay that much to have a balcony that doesn’t even feign privacy.

As a rule I don‘t expect greedy corporations to do the right thing. Yes I‘m a cynic, but I don‘t think there‘s any chance that RCCL isn‘t skimming a little bit of that off the top. So while I won‘t remove the auto gratuities, I always make sure to give at least a little something to the people that actually take care of me.

Online checkin also closes within 3 days of departure. I made that mistake once trying to check in the night before and print the set sail pass the day of. While you can still get on the ship, it really was quite a hassle to do so.
Learned my lesson!

The hub and I were just talking about which of these we should get, or should we get both. If they are basically the same thing, why would we spend $100 for GE when we can get the MP for free?
Depends on what your goal is and if you do a lot of cruising out of PEV or international flights.
GE is worth every penny for the convenience of not waiting in line. If you’re willing to pay $85 for tsa pre-check alone, then you might as well pay the extra $15 for GE. You get precheck as part of the GE and that extra $15 pays for itself the first time you walk past a 20+ minute customs line at an airport or PEV.

It feels better when you “earn” it lol.

We are standing in line about a mile away from the terminal

If this is what I have to look forward to, I can't wait to mess with people. We'll be 33 and 38 when we hit diamond in December. With my earrings, tattoos, and bright blue ponytail, I'm sure I'll fit right in. :'):'):')
But really...they have so much free time they patrol? I wish!
I can vouch for this. Our first cruise as D and we went into the lounge for the first happy hour and the dirty looks we got from people was awesome! The Diamond Concierge made sure take take good care of us though. We felt extremely welcome thanks to her.

Enjoy your crown loft! Not a fan of the ones that overlook the sports court, balcony is a bit more noisy and not private at all but the room is still great.
The concierge can make amazing things happen and he can book specialty dining reservations for you, but if you’re the kind of person that likes to book ahead of time then that is still an option. Just be sure to tip him or her accordingly at the end of your cruise. Amount is what you feel worth it.
For example, our last concierge Dexter was absolutely amazing and allowed us to bring our non-suite travel companions to almost every suite guest function, even when we didn’t ask if they could come with. His quote, “Your guests are my guests.” We ended up giving him about $300 at the end of the week.
Wine & Beer were available in the suite lounge from 11 - 11 as of last May.
Bags are delivered as usual but I believe the suites may get their bags a little faster than non suites.
There is a great coffee machine in the suite lounge available 24 hours. It can make cappuccinos and lattes but it’s not specialty lattes, for that you would still need the drink package and cafe promenade.
There were plenty of kids in the CK on my last cruise.

Haven’t had a “bad” one yet. My opinion is that a bad or average cruise director will have little no no impact on your cruise, and you may not even notice he’s there. A great cruise director however, takes an already good experience to the next level!

Have you seen any drink cards for sale yet?
Bob. Drink cards were on the compss today. $85/10 drinks.
They are taking two punches on the coffee card for large and Iced coffees at Café Prominade even though it’s incorrect.
We have clarification from Miami that it’s any size any type, and have had to fight them each time, even after the food and beverage manager said he’d fix the problem.

Docked, guests removed, and underway again in 9 minutes. Looked like a family of 5.
Terrible way for a vacation to end. I do hope it’s a speedy recovery for them.

Captain just came on the intercom and announced we are heading to Cozumel for a medical evac. Prayers to all involved.

They took the whole 14 days and the some to make the change after my Mediterranean cruise. But usually it’s been within a week.

We are on the Harmony of the Seas right now in a 2 bedroom Aqua Theatre Suite!!! It's a Royal Suite Class and I think your benefits may be different but I can tell you it's AMAZING!!!! We have our own Genie, Daniel and he is excellent. The internet is wonderful, no worry about how much time you are on it. Our fridge is stocked with everything we want. We have never eaten in the dining room or the buffet. It's specialty restaurants every night. Central Park 150 and Chops were amazing. We went for lunch to Izumi and the bill would have been $252.00 for four of us. It was zeroed out, no charge for us! There are five of us in this room and it's awesome!!!! The entertainment has been fantastic!
Enjoy your suite experience! It's so much fun!!!!!
That's a Star Class suite. CLS is a Sky Class suite. no Genie, No complimentary specialty dining outside of Coastal Kitchen, no free drink package or mini-bar, no cut the line perks at flowrider etc.
You will have access to suite lounge, coastal kitchen, suite concierge, reserved seating at all entertainment venues sans comedy club, priority embarkation, disembarkation, etc. Still a lot of perks and a good experience.
Beware, once you dip your toes in the suite waters it's impossible to go back.
-
I've often wondered this myself fully knowing what the enhanced program for suite guests entails.
For me, Sky and Star is a no brainer on Oaisis and Quantum class ships with the suite lounge, costal kitchen, free internet, room types, and various other perks.
I haven't sailed in a GS or above on any other class though so not sure if the smaller list of perks justifies the additional expense over a JS as the most important perk for us is getting the double points and I just don't see how lack of a suite lounge and costal kitchen make up the extra $1000ish to go to a GS

This thread is getting me excited for our next cruise. We just turned diamond after the last one!
-
Sounds Great, Thanks for the info! I wonder why no seats set aside for the comedy show.
The venue is too small. The genie should be able to get you a reservation no problem though.
-
Wow. Lots going on here.
Full disclosure: I've never sailed Star class with a Genie. However , as a Sky class guest in May I emailed the conceiege requesting an OTW cabana and he told me that they were already reserved and I would be given a hilltop and waitlisted for an OTW. Upon boarding he showed me the waitlist and all the OTW's were pre-reserved with just the Genie's name. So I'm guessing that you will have your OTW cabana waiting for you. You willl need to let your genie know that you want it though.
There were a few people that declined so I did clear the waitlist and got the OTW. It is worth it!
As far as shows, you should be able to make your own reservations now. If you don't want to do it yourself, no worries as all suite guests have seats set aside for them at every show, exception being the comedy club. Just make sure you show up to the shows no less than 15 prior as they'll let nonnsuite guests into those seats at 10 prior.
I can't help you with the specialty dining as I'm not sure how that works with the genies, but given the amount of people I've seen in specialty dining whenever I've gone or when I sit at trellis bar in the evenings, I don't think you're going to have a problem here.
Enjoy Star Class, maybe one day I can give it a go :)

Hello all.
We're currently sailing in a JS on Freedom and are having the darndest time figuring out what's going on with some perks we're receiving.
We have sailed in a JS before and know that the perks are practically non existent for us (big room / balcony and double points) However this time we entered the stateroom and found a plate of cookies on the table and 2 bottles of water in addition to the one bottle and a coke we receive for being Emerald members. 2 days later, on formal night, we found a whole tray of cookies waiting for us and 2 more bottles of water.
Today (formal night 2) we found a small plate of candies and pastries when we got back to our stateroom, but no refill on bottled water. Has anyone else received this treatment while in a JS? It's a nice touch, but having not received it in the past, there's no charges on our account now but I'm skeptical and don't want to find a surprise on the bill after disembarking.
Thanks

I've never had a problem with rental car shuttles at Port Canaveral. Worst case scenario, you could rent a car then Uber back to the port after dropping it off. Works like a charm.
-
I agree with all your points. Especially the quietness and location to suite lounge and ck.

We loved our CLS on our recent Allure cruise. It's going to be hard to sail in a single level suite ever again :p
-
It won't be around for much longer then. :D
I sure hope so. I actually laughed when I saw the questions on the survey. I thought, you really don't want me answering this and thusly ripped into the safety video.
-
Saw it on our AL cruise last week. It was terrible. Way too long and really just glossed over important safety information.
-
It was great cruising with you. Thanks again for offering up your suite for the Cabin Crawl, the food spread was completely unexpected and a real treat! The first time I've ever been part of of a Cabin Crawl that did something like that!
Glad you enjoyed the cruise! You got me wanting to try Star Class now!

We’ve done both the Hibachi and the non Hibachi on Allure. My wife raves about the sushi but I won’t touch anything that comes out of the water. However the non seafood options were some of the best food on the ship. The gyoza rivals gyoza I’ve had in Japan, and the ramen is quite filling and very flavorful. A must go in my opinion.
