  1. We would like an all Inclusive:cool:

I have been to Mr. Sanchos, Paradise Beach but not Playa Mia. I vote for Mr. Sanchos as it is truly AI. Paradise beach you have an app, a Entree and desert so thats not truly AI. The coconut shrimp is awesome as is the Whole fried fish. Reserve online for $5.00 and pay balance in cash when u get there. Taxi to and from not included in price but its aprox $20.00 for up to 4 persons( not $20.00 per person). They have taxis outside waiting to take u back

  2. I don't see mention in any of the threads, but is the water (ice) safe at the AI's? Years ago I got sick with Montezuma's revenge from a pina colada at a hotel in Cancun and I'd rather not have a repeat. I guess they imported their ice and it was not purified. I've been to COZ in the last few years but have only drank bottled water/soda, but if I am going to an AI I'll want some frozen concoctions since I do not drink beer.

I have never had problems with the drinks or any beverage . I have been there maybe 8 times since my 1st cruise in 1999 amd have never gotten sick

  3. Thanks I love San Luis which also has a great steak place and piano bar but seems to require 2 night stay every cruise we take. Moody Gardens just went from over 300 to under 200 for 1 night before our cruise so might try that

I just booked Inn at the Waterpark with free parking and shuttle with tax for April for $159.00 plus taxes for 2 double beds. Never have been there. Been to many hotels in Galveston. Want to try this one out

  4. Dh and I have been to passion island before but it was 5+ yrs ago and we didn't take the kids. So we just hung out on the beach and chilled. I am going with 3 teen/early 20 yr olds this time and we are trying to decide what to do in Coz.

When you look at the excursions on Carnival it shows kayaks, water cycles etc. Are those included in your price or do you have to pay extra to rent those? I know the water trampolines and the toys out in the water are free to use but what about the cool big kid toys. Are we going to have to rent them? If so anyone know how much they cost? Trying to decide if we want to do passion island or paddle boarding at Mr. Sanchos.

    Thanks

It has been many many years since we were here. I prefer Mr. Sanchos anyways though. Their all inclusive food and drink is all inclusive (except Lobster). You can rent jet skis bannana boat etc. Sorry i dont remember the prices though

  5. Boutique should be Le Meridien. The other should be Hilton Riverside.

You really are a nice person to help all of us!!!

    I thank you again!!!

  6. Thinking of heading to Paradise Beach next March, 2017. Is this a good idea? Is it worth the price of admission? Does anyone know how long the cab ride is to it from the port and how much $$ it will cost to go there?

    Thanks!

I have been to PB before and it was nice but I now choose Mr. Sanchos as I can get the All inclusive with them and it truly is AI when it comes to drinks and food. If I remember correctly the AI they call at PB is like 3 items off their menu. One appetizer one entree and maybe a desert(If I remember correctly)Mr. Sanchos is everything on their menu excluding the lobster. Great food good service( just tip before leaving) and beautiful water and surroundings. Just my opinion:)

  7. Coz is easy to do on your own - I would avoid all of the ship tours unless you are heading to the mainland for a Mayan ruins tour. Mr. Sanchos is a fun beach club - enjoy. :)

I have been to Coz many times. We are going again in August and will be doing Mr. Sanchos All inclusive with some first time cruisers. We enjoy it!! You can also go parasailing via one of their vendors. Or the banana boat is fun as well( all extra). Google it to see more info)

  8. thank you, ma'am. That was a lot of useful information.

I'm looking at the yucatan as a potential retirement site, so i'm hoping to use the time in progreso to get a first impression of the place. This sounds much better for that purpose than just riding through town on a cruise ship excursion. Plus, i'm hopeful i'll get a chance to see how much spanish i've held on to after all these years.

Again, much obliged for the info.

    my pleasure!!!

  9. This deal almost sounds too good to be true. What's the catch? :-)

Seriously, I've been trying to figure out what I want to do on my day in Progreso and this sounds like it would be right up my alley. The price is about $3, correct? Do they want pesos (fine by me) or Yanqui money? And, to get to the DD I'd take the bus from out at the end of the pier into Progreso, then walk a couple of blocks. Sound about right?

Next thing I need to do is find a decent map of the town and see where things are in relation to each other I guess. Anybody recommend a good one, either free or for purchase?

    Thanks!!

here is another good map http://yucatantoday.com/progreso-map/?lang=en

  13. Thanks Saint Greg for all your help.

Since our friends are not coming in the day( as previously stated) before I went and re- read all your recommendations and did the 4 star french Quarter/ Miss. River with 90% recommendations and got the Hilton Riverside!!!

I am so happy it worked out with your expertise!!!

I again appreciate you taking the time to help me and ALL THE OTHERS!!! your really a great guy!! If you are ever cruising on the same ship I would be honored to buy you a drink. And if you don't drink I will gladly buy you a non alcoholic drink!!!

    Thank You !!

    Sincerely

    Karen

  14. I have a review with TONS of pictures in my signature line if you are interested. :)

Thanks I will have to share this with my friend who is a first timer with us. great pics!!! thanks for sharing!!!

  15. The hotels closest to Fulton are going to be in the Warehouse District.

The closest hotel is going to be the 4* Warehouse district for $93. That should be Omni Riverfront. It's 3 blocks from Fulton and extremely well reviewed. If you book this one, when you begin your search select 2 adults and 2 children in each room. This will let them know to give you 2-bed rooms.

The best price is the 3.5* Warehouse District for $69.00. That should be the Blake Hotel. It's about 12 blocks from Fulton Garage. I have noticed they've made changes to hotwire and now some of the hotels have a bed choice option. Blake is one of them so if you book it click the "bed choice" tab or scroll down to it and you can select rooms with 2 queen beds.

The 3* warehouse district all-suites hotel for $93 should be Staybridge suites. That is about 8 blocks from Fulton. You'd have more space with a kitchen, living room and they serve free breakfast. This one also has the bed choice option where you can select 2 double beds.

THANK YOU SO MUCH Saint Greg for the help!! I have never used Hotwire nor booked a hotel In NO or even actually cruised out of NO. You have been so helpful!!! I will make an attempt at this!!!!

  16. Saint Greg hoping your on the boards for some help with the Hotwire thing. Never booked Hotwire so any help is greatly appreciated!! Needing 2 rooms for pre cruise on August 28th 2016. Cruise next day on Triumph. One room needs 2 beds( 2 adults and 3 kids one is 3 years old so he can sleep with mom and dad). Other room 2 beds for 2 ladies( me and my co worker). Cheap as possible but no bad hotels LOL

Hope you get on the boards soon and can help this old lady out LOL

    THANKS GREG!!!

Oh and will do the Fulton garage thing for parking

  17. It's Hilton Riverside.

Wow first let me say Your an awesome person to help everyone like you do!!!! KUDOS to you!!!

I may be in touch with you Saint Greg

as I am cruising out of NO for the 1st time( previously booked out of NO but bused to Mobile due to high river)- we flew in though for that one.I am driving over from Texas and will have another carload of friends who will need a hotel. I have never used Hotwire or Priceline and totally lost with how it works.

I hope I can get some help from you later. Were driving in on Sunday August 28th cruising on the 29th on the Triumph.

we will need two rooms. One for me and my coworker and the other for a family of 2 adults and 3 kids One is a 3 year old

  18. I saw a posting from JH about purchasing vanilla when in Cozumel. We will be taking our second cruise there in February . Wondering how I didn't know about this earlier, lol. Where should I go to purchase my vanilla? What brand should I buy? Since we will be flying back home what size bottle can be brought on the plane or would it be smarter to ship it home? Hope this isn't too many questions, thanks in advance for your response!

Sent from my iPad using Forums mobile app

I get mine for the grocery store they have in downtown Cozumel. Much cheaper than in the duty free shops and other stores in town. I plan on getting about 5 or 6 bottles when I go in August for my friend that bakes

  19. Our non alcoholic drinks available for kids? Like a Pina Colada or something along those lines. Just trying o figure out if it the AI side would be worth it. Thanks!

Yes they are> I am not a big drinker so I get the frozen drinks without alcohol all day.
