  1. Don't know how far out you can select arrival time but I would find out and be on it that day so you can get the earliest time slot. You could also buy faster to the fun which lets you arrive whenever you want, assuming the terminal is open.

Arrival times become available about 180 days prior to sail date. This has proven true for my last 3 bookings.

  2. From the FAQ:

    • Electrical devices such as fans, power strips, multi plug box outlets/adaptors, and extension cords (without surge protectors) are allowed on board when used with proper caution. However, if such devices are determined to pose a hazard, they will be removed and returned the last day of the cruise prior to debark.

    https://help.carnival.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2261/ under the section Exemptions.

    Thank you for posting this.

I always print the section posted above and take it with me. My fan is only used on cruises and stays in the cruise bag.

  3. So any idea which part of the ship would be assigned to which dining room? In other words, would a mid ship cabin be assigned to the aft dining room or the mid dining room?

Assignments are made without regard to stateroom location.

As above YourTimeDining is mid ship dining room and Assigned is Aft dining room as well as portions of the upper mid.

  4. It is a public page and any one that follows him can see it. Often they will comment on your post as well. I have contacted him to request a two top on various cruises. I appreciate that he is willing to assist. I don't however like having to post what I consider personal info on a public page. For most request he asked you post 4 days prior to sailing and is best to post when he is active on the page.

  5. We set very clear rules when the girls were younger. Some of those rules included:

1.You will never go into anyone's stateroom or invite anyone into ours.

2.You will not go on passenger decks except to return to our rooms.

3.If/when you leave the kids club you will find us and let us know where you will be.

    4. You will always treat others with respect.

5.I will be checking on you. If you are not where you said you would be or if you are misbehaving you will spend the rest of the trip attached to me. Neither of us will be happy about that.

Even as they got older (15 and 18) the all rules applied. And yes I did a room checks on a 15 and 18 year old. .

Only you know your comfort level and the maturity of your children. Try it for short periods of time and as they reassure you with their actions you can allow more freedom.

  6. Ouch! That's an all day job! Do you know if the Valor and the Freedom are docking close enough to each other at port of Galveston so I don't need a taxi to transfer? Thanks!

What you are talking about is commonly called a side to side. Debark one ship and immediately embark another.

You can drop your check luggage with the porters fairly early (9AM) and enjoy some time in Galveston.

Regarding the Valor and Freedom. It isn't so much the distance but rather the conditions of the surface you would need to walk that might be a problem. If I can find any info about walking between I will certainly post.

  7. Respected or not....she is only shown with 3 6 week assignments (2 on Pride and 1 on Vista) through the upcoming summer. Obviously she has fallen out of favor for a steady assignment! Maybe there are some personal reasons (driven by her) behind her limited assignments ??

She was picked for the Paradise to do the Cuba runs. I just didn't want you to think you were being short changed. She is an awesome CD.

  8. Looks like she will have had a couple 6 week stints on Paradise before another 6 week stint on Vista... Must be a floater where they try to fill in off time of main CD

I can assure you she is not a floater. Jamie Dee was one of the front runners to be the CD of the Vista. She is extremely well respected among her peers.

  9. Here are the other decks info

    On deck 4

    the following partitions cannot be opened: 4224/4226, 4226/4228, 4228/4230, 4230/4232, 4232/4241, 4241/4239, 4239/4237, 4237/4235 and 4235/4231.

    On deck 6

    the following partitions cannot be opened: 6258/6260, 6260/6262, 6262/6264, 6264/6333, 6333/6331, 6331/6329 and 6329/6327

    On deck 7

    the following partitions cannot be opened: 7296/7298, 7298/7300, 7300/7302, 7302/7351, 7351/7349, 7349/7347 and 7347/7345.

    On deck 8

    the following partitions cannot be opened: 8266/8268, 8268/8270, 8270/8272, 8272/8277, 8277/8275, 8275/8273 and 8273/8271.

  10. Since the divider is opened and affixed to the rail most will open. There isn't a way to check on the deck plans A call to Carnival, your PVP, TA or a visit to goccl will be needed to ensure the staterooms you want to book can open .

Here you go. I pulled this up for you:

Balcony Partitions: The balcony partition panel can be opened and secured in place against the balcony rail with the use of hardware. By doing so, the view is partially blocked. The required hardware is limited on each ship and is on a "first come, first serve" basis. On embarkation day, guests are directed to the Guest Service Desk to submit their request. Since the Room Stewards are not able to handle this job, guests are advised that the partition will be opened the very next morning. Due to safety reasons, the following partitions cannot be opened: 5264/5266, 5266/5268, 5268/5270, 5270/5299, 5299/5297, 5297/5295 and 5295/5293.

  11. But I’m using a TA. Is it possible to be refunded and then pay the deposit with gcs if using a TA?

As firemanbobswife said there is no reason it can't be done. But you will have to speak with your TA rather than call Carnival. If you are booked through a TA Carnival can't do anything with your booking.
