  1. Early this morning, I received an email from MSC containing our FCC. Our sailing was March 12, 2020. We actually did board the ship as well. But we were ordered off the ship. I can only think that CC and Christopher Elliott, Inc. had to have some influence in this happening. For people who were to sail in March 2020, check your email. You may have a FCC!

Many are posting the same disappointment about most of the other cruise lines.

Totally not true!  The other cruise lines have treated their passengers much better than MSC. I used to be a travel agent. I still have many friends in the travel industry. All the say the same, MSC is horrible in customer service.

Did you end up disputing with your credit card?  If so, make sure it's not just a provisional credit from the card issuer.

I have disputed with Chase. All the disputes were turned down. Personally I think it is Chase. Because I have read that other banks, Citibank, Bank of America, and American Express, have all honored disputes. Especially American Express. I am not happy at all with Chase's customer service. I am done with the Chase Sapphire Reserve card. I am considering filing a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Board.

Hi, wondering if anyone who was due to sail from Barcelona on the Grandiosa on 12th March has heard anything from MSC yet about refund or FCC.  I emailed them a few days after I got home and said I would like to take the FCC offer of 125% as per the letter given to us as we left the ship.

I received a reply 2 days later thanking me for my request to book another cruise and that they would get back to me in due course. This was on the 19th March.

Has anyone else heard anything from them?

Can you post a pic of that letter? We were on that ship as well.  We never received any letter! My TA has spoken to a res agent who stated that the letter proves you were on the cruise. We have boarding cards. Please, anything would help?

  5. My family was to sail on the Grandiosa on March 12. We actually fly to Barcelona and boarded the ship. Three hours after boarding, the Barcelona passengers were ordered to disembark. The orders came over the PA system. There was no letter or any other formal announcement. Spain was closing their ports at midnight. The Grandiosa could not return to Spain. We packed and left the ship. We had not one meal.

From emails from MSC, we learned that we could apply for a FCC of 125% of the fare paid. Plus $200 on board credit. We applied for the FCC. We received an email that it was being processed. Then nothing for almost 9 months. Is anyone in this situation?
