Can my husband and I each bring a bottle of wine on board like we can on Carnival. Will they automatically charge a corkage fee?

One 750ml bottle of wine per adult for consumption in your cabin without a corkage fee.  Additional bottles incur a $15 per bottle corkage fee and can be consumed in dining rooms, specialty restaurants, and lounges.

  2. We have tried both Planks and Steamers and enjoyed them.  We will dine there again on our next cruise aboard the Caribbean Princess.  Planks gives more food than we could eat so a couple might want to split one platter rather than each getting their own.  If you both do get your own platter and you each have different favorite items, you may want to do some trading.  My wife likes the BBQ'd chicken the best so I trade my chicken for her sausage and we are both happy.

Either specialty restaurant offers Key Lime Pie for dessert.  It is fantastic but we had to take ours to go.  We put it in our cabin fridge and ate it later in the evening.

  3. 1.      1.    Go to Princess.com ---2.       Put cursor on Plan A Cruise ---3.       Click on Find Cruises ---4.       Click on Ship ---5.       Click on Enchanted Princess ---6.       Click on View 21 Results ---7.       On any of the cruises click on Cruise Details ---8.       Click on Select a room ---9.       Click on 2 Guests ---10.   Click on Suite ---11.   Click on Penthouse Suite ---12.   Click on I’ll Choose Stateroom Location ---13.   Now it shows your choices can only be in the Aft location----It show N/A for the rest of the ship. ---14.   Now scroll back up to the Select a Stateroom type area ---15.   Click on balcony ---16.   Click on I’ll Choose a Stateroom Location ---17.   Now click on Mid-Aft section of the ship ---18.   Now click on Middle Deck 9-14 Select ---19.   Click on Choose a Stateroom ---20.   On deck 14 you will see that it shows the penthouse suites R603-R616 ---21.   Click on any one of the penthouse suites ---22.   You will see that there are many penthouse suites available.

Why does Princess show N/A for every section of the ship except the aft section when there are suites available in those sections?

I know they are available because my travel agent booked one of them for me for February of 2021.

Is it a bug in the website or is there an intentional reason for doing this.

I just booked a cruisetour for next year.  I was wondering if anyone knows what hotel they use in Fairbanks?  We are there the first night and then travel to Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge and then Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge.

    Thanks - SandJ

Log into your cruise personalizer and click on the schedule.  Then click on the "View Details" for the first day and if it is like mine it will tell you the name of the place you will stay at.  Mine says we are at the Princess Riverside Wilderness Lodge.

We -- two couples -- sailed Royal in 2017, and the partition between our balconies opened up COMPLETELY, giving us a huge balcony for hanging out.  It was wonderful.

This February we sailed Island, and there is a door that can be opened between the balconies, but it's like a Hobbit door, and you can't hang out together.  Two small balconies don't become one large one.  The door flaps around.  Disappointing.

Don't bother calling the Princess line because they can't help you.  When we called about the balcony situation on Island, the rep assured us that Island would be like Royal; it wasn't.

ECS66,  when you say Royal, are you referring to the ship Royal Princess or the cruise line Royal Caribbean International?

R411 is NOT the cabin for you if it bothers you about deck chairs / other being dragged about during the day on the deck above.

Same for R417.  My investigation found that all the chairs next to the side of the ship from the ice cream venue to the hamburger grill were made of cast iron and heavier than any other chairs on either side of the Lido deck.  I assume some designer thought they were appropriate for an ice cream parlor look.  That is true but they should have considered the noise such chairs create on a steel deck.  I had hoped that Princess would replace these chairs during the shipyard period.  Based upon your post, I assume that did not happen.  For our next cruise on this ship, I booked a cabin on the other side of the ship.

I did the roll call. Both Princess and celebrity do not show a ship to choose when enter Meet &Mingle. I did it with Carnival and it worked fine. Also with Royal.

It has been my experience with Princess that someone on the roll call may agree to compile information about when and where to hold a meet and mingle.  Some will keep a list of who has posted on the roll call that they will attend.  All you have to do is show up.

    The tap water ?

Be careful as high sodium levels are with the desalinated waters.

As your Licensed and practicing Doctor, M.D.  on that too.

The reverse osmosis system in desalination plants removes the sodium.  I spent a decade operating a demineralizer plant making and testing pure water.

On an upcoming cruise, I have two types of OBCs, one of which is an OBC from Princess because I booked during a sale. It came with several restrictions in how it can and cannot be used. The other is from my travel agency and I can have the unused balance refunded.

In planning for excursions and a daily cocktail or two, we are unlikely to use all of the total amount of the combined OBCs.

My question is, which OBC will Princess use first for on board spending?  I'm hoping that if there is a balance left, it's from the refundable OBC.

Princess uses the non-refundable credits first.

  10. We did a 14 day cruise followed by two 7 day cruises, all back to back,  aboard the Caribbean Princess early this year.  Our cabin steward changed because of the end of the first steward's contract.

We had Club Class dining and our wait staff moved to the adjacent section when the each new cruise began.  We simply asked that we be seated in what ever section they were in and had no problem.

Onboard CP now @ Cozumel.  Walked over to the other dock and it was invasion of the Carnivalites.  3 big Carnival ships..Dream..Vista..Horizon.  The pier was a madhouse

    ..

After reading all the posts on this thread and others about the correct two-letter code for the Princess ships, I have this question----  Why not avoid any chance of confusion, especially among newbies to Cruise Critic, and just type out the name of the ship?  If you do not have time to do that, then you do really have time to be on Cruise Critic?  Please note that I spelled out Cruise Critic rather than type CC which could also stand for credit card, Club Class dining, or Captains' Circle loyalty club.

There aren’t any USB ports at all.

Now that Caribbean Princess has the TVs mounted on the wall (isn’t that correct??) and no longer on the “pie-wedge-shaped” shelf, the outlet for the previous TV should be easily accessible.

That is correct.  We used the shelf where the TV used to be and that 110 volt outlet as a place to plug in our chargers for our phones and other devices.

As I read it, club class is anytime dining, easier availability of 2 tops, the same menu as regular dining plus perhaps two unique options of the day.  Of course, that's just on paper....so I'm looking for some personal input on those special dishes, the service, etc....would you book club class (again)...why? We will book a mini-suite for the extra space and we have a choice...M1 cabins are still available.

We are familiar with Celebrity's Aqua Class and Blu...but that's a special dining room with a different menu.  This will be our third princess cruise....

Only you can decide if Club Class dining is worth the extra cost for a Club Class mini-suite.  If it won't bust your budget, try it once so you can make a true evaluation.  We tried it only because we booked a full suite and Club Class dining was included in the cost of the suite.  We liked it.  However, we would not pay extra for it,

This is the current elite lounge specials on the Island. There is also a drink of the day in all bars that runs around $8. Cocktails in Crooners run $8-$10.

Warning-----the menu shown for Thursday May 9th lists onion rings-----they are not the tasty golden brown rings you normally find at any establishment that lists "onion rings" on its menu.  These are merely rings of raw onion.  Very disappointing when the only reason you attended the event was your love of properly prepared onion rings.😒

  15. If I book four cruises that sail back to back on the same ship with a different booking number for each leg, will I get 4 loyalty credits or just one for the entire set of cruises?

Princess doesn't do bacon well. Not well at all. If you want to know what a real "bacon breakfast" looks like here is a pic of what I call "the best camping breakfast ever". (It really should be in a camping setting!) Note that the bacon isn't that wimpy Princess stuff.

That photo reminds me of a lunch I had at a restaurant on a pier in Newport Rhode Island.  They served a fantastic Bloody Mary with a properly cooked thick strip of bacon as a garnishment.  Much better than celery or pickled asparagus.
