I just booked Carnival Magic for end of April out of Port Canaveral so this is after all the current dry doc work is complete. Is there a link anywhere to what deck plans might look like after dry doc?
We're on this cruise too. Can't wait!

Out of these three Jamaica probably has the most to do. I'd definitely do an excursion here rather than just walk around the port.
I'd choose Cayman or Cozumel as a day to walk around the port or to a beach to relax.

Even if you feel like your morning sickness has passed, get a prescription for some diclectin (this could be called something different in the US) and fill it before you go. It was great for me when I was pregnant on a cruise, especially at dinner time.

We were on the summit with our then three year old and it was great. He loved the kids club and barely wanted to spend time with us

We booked in Canadian dollars with a travel agent. Even with the exchange Carnival came in lower than RCC and NCL with a similar itinerary.
I've seen promos for Canadians but they aren't real sales.

If you love going to the beach on your time off the boat then I would stick with what you have. San Juan will give you the opportunity to change things up. personally I'm not a fan of st. Thomas.
We chose the other itinerary as we had never been to Belize or Honduras before

We plan to travel with my father in law who has Alzheimer's and sounds like he's in the same state as your grandmother. We plan to have someone near him at all times. If you search the entire cruise critic boards, there a couple of helpful threads.

I really hope it gets blue iguana.

Ok burrito bar does not sound like comparable to the delicious blue iguana cantina. Between that and magic not having Guys either, I think we will look at another ship for a spring cruise. Guess I've been spoiled.
Magic is going into dry dock in the spring. I'm hoping the get the blue iguana.

We booked in cad using a travel agent. They should be able to match whatever promotion carnival is offering.
I also called carnival to get the U.S. Equivalent of my price per person so I can search online for any price drops - so far it's only gone up :(
Carnival does quote in cad but at a higher rate than the current exchange. I'm surprised they won't let you do the early saver if you use a pvp.

Yes please for the email address.

We have the Chef's Table reserved for April on the Magic. So excited to try this, as this cruise will be very special for my fiancée and I. Honeymoon cruise, aft balcony cabin and now the Chef's Table. We are very budget conscious so we decided to splurge on this sailing because it's our honeymoon. And thankfully since our initial cruise got cancelled due to the repositioning of the Magic, we each got $50 OBC, so Chef's Table will cost $50 out of pocket which I consider to be an incredible deal! Also thinking of trying the steakhouse, maybe a couple more splurges. And this is my fiancée's second cruise, first was on Elation but now she gets to sail on my favorite ship, the Magic. Plus she gets to experience a balcony, which I'm sure she will love. Anyway, menu and pics would be great!!
You already booked for April? I'm on the magic in April too and this is definitely want to do this. Guess I need to schedule this!

Finally, my cruise has gone down a bit and the price protection form is down. Is this a coincidence? Been like this for a few days.

Ours went down a little bit today. But the claim form is down.

We are going to be cruising with our 7 year old next year. We chose Carnival because it was a better value. It was $1500 cheaper for a cruise with an extra port vs Rci. Both had slides and good activities on the boat, kids programming but the cabins are bigger on ccl.

The best value vacation for kids at this age is an all inclusive. You can definitely find hotels where your child is completely free and have baby clubs with toys etc.
You can certainly have a good time with kids this age if you're comfortable with them being with you most of the time and realizing they probably won't make it through dinner at the Mdr. The third and fourth passenger rate was $179 plus taxes etc. for our kids

Does anyone know if this conflicts with the Dr. Seuss breakfast. I want to do both.
-
We did a tour of trafalgar falls, the sulphur springs and the botanical gardens which was great. Dominica is a beautiful island. I hope they are able to rebuild
-
Our kids are 7 and 2 and we are doing a balcony cabin on the magic.
It was definitely cheaper than a suite or two insides. We have the balcony to relax if the two year old needs a nap and they aren't too big where their bodies and clothes are taking up a lot of space.

Every time I get an email I check my cruise and it hasn't gone down at all. :(
-
The Magic is going into dry dock early next year and would be the 'newer' ship when you go.
I haven't been on either but these were my two choices when we were looking. It came down to price.

Thanks for the comparison. Great job! We started with celebrity and will be trying carnival next. ROyal Caribbean is next on our list
-
We booked a starboard room. Only because hubby is super sensitive to smoke

We booked through a TA as well. Just log into your Carnival account on the website, then go to manage your booking. Select print cruise documents ( you don't really need to print) and you can scroll down and see what the price you paid was in US dollars. That way you can check for price drops using fare viewer.
I tried this but the price there is Canadian (strange).
I called and they told me the US equivalent I can use to compare. They also said I can fill out the form online myself if I want to do a price protection claim but they will not be able to help me on the phone.

This is great. We are celebrating two birthdays on our upcoming cruise. Wonder if they do anything for kids.
