I didn't get a cancelation email from CVS for my rapid tomorrow, so let's hope they don't cancel it on me on-site, because if so there'll be some choice words for their management. I have backups just in case, but I'd prefer not to be driving around town in 105+ heat getting the test done.

I don't plan on getting off at any port on my upcoming Panorama cruise. For one, I've been to all these ports before and they're dealing with capacity restrictions and closures. But the main reason is because masks are required even outdoors in Mexico.
If this was in the winter months, it would be much easier. But wearing a mask outdoors in that heat/humidity, no thanks.

Even once off the ship, it took almost 30 minutes to get an Uber. We made it to LAX by 3 PM. Frankly we were worried about making our 5 PM flight.
These stories are one of the major reasons I changed my flights from LAX to Long Beach. Not going to deal with "Southern California traffic" + who knows when I'll actually get off the ship.

Uber/Lyft are still 90/80 so waiting it out wouldn’t have helped.
This is the main reason why I changed my flight for the Panorama cruise from LAX to Long Beach. LAX to the port, at least $75. Long Beach to the port, less than $20

Just an FYI, Carnival says that even with the premium package, you can't stream music. Now, they might have changed this, but when I was on Horizon in early 2019, you could and I did with little issues.

Are these available on all ships that have JavaBlue or are they just testing it on MG?

I checked in at the first possible minute for non Dia/Pla and got 1pm as the earliest time on the Panorama.

I mean under 12 and unvaccinated are still unvaccinated, No?Yes, you are correct. I'm not going to go back and forth. My overall point was outbreaks shouldn't be happening on a 95% vaxxed ship. Herd immunity is way less than 95%.

It isn’t fully vaccinated where do people get that from? 95% isn’t fully vaccinatedSo are we assuming that 5% are 12 and under? Because there aren't exemptions anymore, so that's the only category to make up that 5%

My favorite bartender confirmed Covid aboard the Magic……. Apparently an outbreak among guests? I guess that explains things.
That's too bad if that's the story. A supposed fully vaxxed cruise, everyone checked + masks. I don't know what more they want.

My in-laws are on Magic and sent me pics from their balcony of Mardi Gras. I was told they aren't letting anyone off the Carnival Magic ship at Amber Cove. They were denied debarkation.
If it's Covid related, I'd hate to work in guest services having customers yelling that they did their job & why isn't Carnival doing theirs.

I would have a backup and a backup to the backup.I already have a backup, but both are "free". I'd prefer not pay for a backup that hopefully won't be needed and won't be refunded. CVS rapid (assuming it's still in stock) one week from today.

In the "normal" times, every Vegas buffet competed with each other to see who could outshine the other. Now that there's less than a dozen in operation, they're charging whatever they feel and serving whatever they choose, and people are waiting in lines for hours for it.
As someone who's lived in Vegas for 20+ years, if I come back from the 9/11 Panorama and say it sucks, then it truly sucks. This will be my 10th Carnival and I can't say the buffet food on my past cruises sucked.

The last time I checked a bag with the Carnival, my suitcase was crushed. They got their machine shop to straighten it back out enough I could fly home but that suitcase was toast.
That was also about the time I hit platinum. So now that I can drop my bag off right away, even if the room isn't ready, I just pack light and only pack my carryon and a bookbag. Makes self-debarkation a breeze too! 🙂
This happened to me on my last cruise. Took them nearly half the cruise to just give me a Carnival branded luggage. I was more furious about the length of time it took to get a resolution than I was about the bag being ripped to start.

When in the dining room (any meal) can you order whatever kind of drink you want or are they limited to their own drink menu?
Also, how's the mask enforcement, or lack thereof, going?

One thing I noticed from your daily planner is they no longer have an early riser breakfast. Earliest option is 7:30am (Yes, I know pizza is an option)
That's kind of surprising as many people like you and I are up early no matter what time we go to sleep.

That seems reasonable to me. We love to watch the comedy shows and it just seemed uncomfortable to me to have to wear a mask the entire time. This is one of the main reasons I don't intend to wear mine unless it's in mandatory areas of the ship AND it's enforced. I get it. It's good PR for them to be saying "look at all the precautions we're taking" but for the hoops we all have to jump through just to go + no more exemptions, it seems the semi mask mandate is a bit excessive. Just my 2 cents.

I feel bad for the bartenders on the 9/11 Panorama cruise I'm going on. Week 1 of NFL. Can I bet on the O/U of how many times they'll be asked for a specific game? They need to put this in the daily planner. It'll eliminate so many headaches.

Had my appointment on time, she called me one minute prior. Went in, did ask she told, and by the time I got home, she called with the negative results. Woo Hoo!
