  1. It does seem pretty high amount of wagers to receive perks. Royal Carribbean is also $5 per point but you only need 2500 pts to reach Prime status to get free drinks and free annual cruise of your choice. You also only need 1200 points to start getting free cruises on an instant certificate. Looks like with Virgin its 5k pts to start getting anything at all.

..and continue booking people on the ship knowing this and not giving them the heads up?  I am on her in roughly 80 days.  If I knew of the issue I would have held off booking this itinerary until the future. Some don't mind the risk, but I do.  I don't book during hurricane season because I know the odds are higher itineraries can change, ports get missed, etc.  I wouldn't book a ship with issues, that would "most likely" get me to the destination ports. This is our first MR cruise, and most likely our only.  I cannot switch now.

Ours is December 13th, its even a partially comped cruise (we still had to pay 3rd and 4th person fare for our kids). But I'm actually hoping they can either fix the issue before we sail or allow us to cancel with full refund. I don't really want to do a 7 night with one port. Even if its partially comped.

Good luck with that, I'm curious if you're going to be successful. As an aside my husband and I just booked a fully comped Aquaclass cabin on the ne Ascent for January with all included!

I will update with the results after my cruise. I did see folks mention on the Celebrity casino Facebook group they had success changing out Aqua Class passengers after getting onboard.

Of course you’re not required to order a drink. But the photo comes up when the cabin # is entered.

Hence why I'm actually gonna ask guest services to officially change room assignments, not just ask for an extra keycard for each room. Officially having my wife's name attached to my Aqua Class room, and my friend attached to the interior room in the system. Although I have never tried this with Celebrity,  it does work on Royal Caribbean. When we changed room assignments with RCL, it officially changed on their computer too. So I guess we'll see

It doesn't matter who's staying in which room, I know for the fact since we did the exact thing this past February on the Solstice. Guest Relations didn't blink an rye when we asked for extra room cards for each room for access only. We just said we want an extra room card for room access only since the four of us are traveling together and we want to be able to get into each other's room.

If the OP wants to have his wife pretend she's the second person booked in his room (I'm assuming the 2nd person you booked in your room is female?) for Blu and Thermal suite access I suppose that's possible and shouldn't be a problem. She'll have to decide when dining at Blu what name she's going to go by.

If you're good enough friends to do this I hope you plan on eating at least one dinner in the MDR with them. When I was traveling with my parents and we were in AQ and they weren't we looked at the menus and decided to dine with them in the MDR when Blu didn't have entrees we preferred and also visa versa.

(Don't miss the ribeye in Blu!)

Yes both friends we're bringing are female. We do plan on eating a few dinners together at mdr. But I also plan on eating a few dinners just with my wife at Blu.

Definitely. They are not going to check id at the door. As long as your friend doesn’t also use the AC benefits I don’t feel you are scamming anyone. You have 2 cabins comped which celebrity allows you to bring a guest. It shouldn’t matter which guest is in which cabin, etc.

No, definitely not. we explained the situation to our friend, she's just happy enough we invited her on the trip. In fact she'd feel really bad if she took the AC benefits from my wife.

You won’t have any issue having your wife go with you to Blu. They only ask your room number. We have never been asked individual names. The thermal suite will probably be an issue.

I asked around,  some folks say for Thermal Suite, they just ask you for your card and see if you have an Aqua Class card. They don't actually look to see who's who. If thats the case, couldn't you just bring the two Aqua Class cards?

Your two friends who did no gambling so are basically getting a free cruise could foot your drinks bill perhaps?

The drink is actually the least of our concerns, neither my wife nor my friend who currently has the drink package assigned drink much anyways. However my wife was especially disappointed about Blu and Thermal Suite after I told her last night, it just doesn't make sense if celebrity can't switch these two perks around. Not to mention it also cause me not to be able to eat at Blu either, I'm not abandoning my wife at dinner or eating alone with our friend (who's also female and would be inappropriate). We were actually trying to do something nice for our friends by inviting them as they don't get to travel much, part of the reason is financially they're not as well off.

    One thing about Blu though.

They don’t ask for your names just the room number. So in theory, you and your wife could go to Blu and the other couple could go the main dinning room.

Fudging the system a little but it’s still only 2 people eating in Blu.

What about the Thermal Suite? So they check your card clearly

Or next time, check these things out before you make the bookings.

Check what out? we got 2 comp'd rooms for gambling quite a bit in the casino and thats the rule for booking casino comps (my wife and I have to each book our rooms separately). Seems to me it would be much more customer friendly if celebrity just let you change the Aqua Class guest perks once onboard, its not like it hurts their revenue. Still only 2 people enjoying the perk. I actually can't even figure out the reasoning for this one or how it even benefits them to have this restriction.

  11. 54 minutes ago, kwokpot said:

All benefits stay with the original person. Your wife Will NOT be able to dine in Blu nor have access to the Thermal suite.

Hmmm if that's the case thats pretty disappointing, and poor guest relations by celebrity management imo. Its not like it cost them anything extra to switch the person using Thermal Spa and Blu at the start of the cruise. Its not like we're trying to sneak in a 3rd guest. Anyways I will ask once onboard, if denied I will write it in the reviews. I'm sure this specific issue has popped up before with Casino bookings.

  12. 8 minutes ago, jelayne said:

I know they care don’t who sleeps where but I’m thinking the AQ benefits stay with the person on the original booking.

Is this just a guess? Or have you had previous experience? If I switch room assignments, then wouldn't my wife's card then have the blue Aqua key while my friend will not anymore. I thought thats what Blu and Thermal Suite look at when granting access. Now the Drink Package and Internet I don't really know.

  13. So we have 2 rooms, one with Aqua Class with all inclusive perks, the other is am interior room. Both rooms were comp'd by the casino (Aqua for me, interior for my wife). Thus my wifes name has to be attached to the interior room booking prior to us boarding. We are bringing 2 friends along. Currently we have one friend each assigned to each room, but once onboard I plan on switching my wife and our friend's room assignments so my wife stay with me in Aqua Class and my friend will stay with our other friend in the interior room. My question is once I switch rooms, will the Aqua Class perks (Blu, Therapy Spa, Drink Package) get transferred over to my wife as well??? Or will my friend thats currently assigned to my room still have them???

  14. Had an issue with a booking where Kids sail free promotion was not applying on their system despite the cruise being kids sail free eligible (double checked by multiple RCL reps including supervisor). I was told they will escalate the situation to leadership team to fix the invoice and zero out the remaining balance (I was already charged what I was supposed to pay). Was originally told last Sunday this issue will be resolved in 48 hours, then by the end of the day Wed, then by the end of the day Thurs, then Fri. But as of now it still has not been resolved and the latest conversation with Royal, they can't give me a timeline and just said it'll be resolved eventually. Wondering if anyone else ever experienced having to have a invoice corrected and how long it took?

  15. Do you gamble at all on Royal Caribbean ships? I've never sailed with Celebrity before but I called blue chip club yesterday and gave them my Royal Caribbean crown and anchor number. They checked my play with Royal on my most recent cruise on the Allure of the Seas and offered me an Aqua Class all inclusive balcony on any sailing up to 9 nights within the next calendar year (excluding holiday sailings). My wife who plays less was offered an Oceanview room. I was pretty shocked they were just willing to give me free cruises just for asking even though I have no history with Celebrity.

  16. We stopped getting offers starting last month, prior to that wife and I get multiple offers every month (I'm Signature,  she's Prime). With that said we currently have 4 open bookings on comp'd cruises between now to next March. I think they probably also stop sending you offers if you have a bunch booked already, combined with other factors such as most ships sailing full already.

Have you been able to confirm port times?

Take care with time changes at that time especially with regards to ferry.

Do your research on liability and car rental.

Yes I confirmed the port times
