  1. I am planning my first cruise and have been looking around at all the different sailings. After reading the board for a few weeks I think I'm going with the Epic solo cabin.

My question is, is $699 a good price for this fall doing the Western Caribbean? Has anyone seen it much cheaper than that?

Yes I have seen it cheaper than that, but not a lot.consider a standard inside cabin instead of a studio.they frequently cost less and are bigger.you can still access the studio lounge during the singles gathering or anytime the door is open.

I am sailing in November for about $500 on deck 9.having sailed on the EPIC 4 times previously in both cabin types there are good things about each room.

That being said 699 is a good price though, and I have paid a lot more over

X-mas and spring break before.hope you enjoy the epic as much as I do!

  2. The liberty dining room is the more formal dining option, and is one deck above the skyline which has a more casual ambience.skyline was always busier and had more families.I used the stairs in the skyline to go up to the liberty when there was a line at the hostess stand.

  3. I just got home from a wonderful week in studio #13003 on the POA.trying to collect my thoughts, and freestyle dailys to write a review and comparison of the studios on the epic and poa.if anyone has any questions or comments feel free to ask.

  4. Ceejmaster there are other good reasons to save money and go inside.having sailed in both cabin categories twice,I prefer the inside to the studio.

Insides have a refrigerator,36 more square feet,a larger closet, shower and loo.

Counter space and night stand.of course the studios have the mood lighting and a better tv and the lounge, but the solo gathering at 530 is open to all regardless of cabin categories.i always make friends with fellow passengers in the studios and have had no problem getting into the lounge anyway.

  5. Thank you Jess.yes Dorothy I am traveling solo this time.having cruised both solo and with companions I have had the best times when sailing solo.this trip has really been something I wanted to do for some time, and when the cruise rep on the EPIC told me about the the POA getting studios.I marked the day they went on sale on my calendar.since then the prices have gone up twice so they must be selling well.my sailing sold out in days of becoming available.originally I was going on my bday in oct.but there was no difference in price so I took the holiday sail which normally would cost more.

  6. Jessica and Dorothy you are in luck.I am leaving today for this sat.sailing in a studio cabin.information has been hard to come by here since the cabins are new and there are only the 4 of them. This is a bucket list trip for me and I have been scouring the web for info and pictures since construction began.(I booked over a year ago).time flies and now I need to start packing!having used these boards for a couple of years now I owe a review for all the great info I got here.having sailed on the EPIC 4 times now, both in a studio and a standard inside,I plan to do a comparison of the studios, lounge and experience of both.

  7. Good luck with this inquiry.these cabins are new, and with only 4 of them on this ship, reviews and information are in short supply.i have been looking and asking for this info since the construction began.if you can wait, my cruise over the New Years holiday is coming up soon and I promise a short review with pics!

  8. The epic has 21 different dining options available.it seems strange that anyone would only go to the buffet for 7 days if it was not a good place to eat.why not try out someplace else?why don't the actual cruisers post some accurate descriptions about their actual first hand experiences?then we could debate the merits of the various dining options with epic cruisers or those thinking about it.

  9. Thank you Laura for getting a note to Erica.this cabin looks a lot like my studio on the epic, even though the dimensions are not the same.I wonder if they have the same funky color changing moodlights,or what type of amenities are offered in the studio lounge?what about this area of the ship,is it keycard access only or open to all?

  10. I have also been looking for pictures of these cabins.having booked a New Years cruise in one over a year ago I have tried to follow the construction and now have been patiently waiting for more info or a review.there have been pics of the suites on deck 13 in a thread here but not the studio lounge or cabins.i know they will be similar to the studios on the epic, which I loved, but prides studios are 107 sq.feet so they are bigger and obviously the lounge is much smaller so if anyone has seen them and would weigh in that would be appreciated!if not I will post a review with pics early next year.

  11. Ncl would be my choice.having sailed on the epic 4 times with the poa and breakaway upcoming,I love the way they cater to solo travelers.having sailed on RCI and carnival, albeit not solo,I was converted to solo cruising by ncl and their studios, now I'm biased because they do a good job and have better deals for solos.
