  1. Not that I am aware of....I've even asked the poolside staff. Lol. I typically sit back and stare at all the "taken" chairs. And if someone doesn't come back to it within about a half hour, it is mine. Maybe someday I will even step up to actually reading the persons book. haha

That's what we do too, I dont just stomp on in and throw people's stuff down because there is a chance they actually did go to the restroom or pop out for a plate of fries to bring back. We hover for a while, then start using the seat, and if they don't come back in a reasonable amount of time their stuff gets put on the ground and the chair gets taken away.

  2. I'm from Staten Island! So I bundled up her crap and threw it in the corner, got myself a large drink from the bar and sat down to enjoy the sun. About an hour into my tan the lady showed up. She looked like she wanted to say something, and sort of looked at me like you'd look at a roach. Her face said. "how dare you!" Mine replies: "go ahead punk, make my day". Cruising is so much fun! :D

Did you really do that? I am hoping this is not just a message board fable..

  3. We just got off the Epic in early jan. The chairs all had towels and books on them early in the morning. It was only our 5th cruise I didn't realize this was a game. I did write Norwegian to come up with. Some idea to maybe tweet this. Chairs sat all day by the pool empty. Next time I'm going in . :)

Step 1) Put their stuff on the ground

Step 2) Move the chair somewhere else so they get confused

    Step 3) Enjoy your chair

  4. You will make out then... and you will have a window too. I'd do it! :)

And oops I quoted the wrong person.

And if you regret your umbrella drink you can toss it and change back to your jack and PEPSI or rum and PEPSI (lol)

A window overlooking a beautiful life raft.. but yes, there will be a window.

We got lucky on the Jewel, the cabin was the one with a tiny little thing outside so it was basically unobstructed, but this time it's the Gem and I don't know if I can pull that off again.

  5. $340 divided by 2 people divided by 9 nights is $18.89 per day, including gratuity.

Before gratuity, that's $16.43 per day. That is about 2 mid grade drinks... or maybe 2 drink of the days and like a soda.

My wife likes a Malibu bay breeze by the pool and wine our a cocktail at dinnet, so two during the day, two at dinner.

I drink rum and coke or Jack and coke almost exclusively, but its a boat in the tropics so I will most likely get something with an umbrella at some point..

  6. Okay... can someone help us out with the math here?

We (three, but lets just say two because one of us is a three and a half year old) are booked for a 10 day cruise in an inside cabin because that's all we need, but with this inside cabin you can't get the promo that is going on right now.

If we switch to a oceanview, the minimum to be able to get the promotion, the cost of the trip goes up $340.

How many drinks are $340? Over the course of 9 days (the last doesn't count) for two people how much would we need to drink a day to make it worth upgrading our room to save money on drinks in the long run with the promo?

  7. I am booked on the Norweigian Gem for December 2015....I saw that NCL is offering new promotions UBP, UDP, OBC.... I called to see if i could take advantage of the promotion....the answer is yes i can....but i have to cancel out my booking, and rebook under the new promotion...and i would have to pay an additional $150, and my cabin goes up an additional $30... which to me is not bad at all, as i am going on a 10 night sailing, and i am looking into the UBP...and to purchase that on my own would cost like over $600... this coming week i am going to call and take advantage of that promotion....

NCL said that this promotion ends January 31, 2015...:)

Can you (or someone) explain the promotion? I checked the booking site and once you apply the code the room rates go up by a couple hundred bucks a person for a oceanview.

So is the promotion not free then, its just a discounted rate? I looked at UBP as well, the website ( http://www.ncl.com/promo/wave15 ) says free drink package but once you apply the code the rates go up, so is it free or not?
