On Caribbean Princess, January 2014 (the naughty Noro ship), my friends received bags, however our steward didn't feel the need to give us one!
I'm glad we were traveling with a small group. Otherwise, my friend and I would not have known that we needed to inform Princess that we needed accommodations due to our early return to Houston.

On the CB now. Cleaning seems to be normal, no "washy washy" like on NCL. Plenty of older folks gripping the stair rails though. I try my best not to touch them myself.
-
I imagine snorkeling at both locations is fantastic! Belize has one of the best barrier reefs in the world.
I chose the "Ocean Runner" to Water Caye excursion since this is the same excursion used by Silversea, the luxury cruise line.

What ScholarShip@sea programs are offered on Caribbean Princess out of Houston (Bayport)?
I'd enjoy lectures on the Maya, ship engineering and navigation.
-
Please tell me that MUTS shows movies that are currently in theaters!
I remember going to see Toy Story 2 on a Disney ship the night it opened in the US, kind of cool.

For those who boarded late on Saturday, January 11th, 2013 - did Princess do any customer satisfaction recovery? Onboard credit, free or discounted drinks/bingo cards maybe?

Pugs...My one way rental is from Houston to the port. My "drop charge" was $12.78, for a total of $68.40 for a three hour full size class rental.

Does Enterprise car rental on Bayport Boulevard in Seabrook offer shuttle service to the Bayport Cruise Terminal?
They are a little over five miles apart.
-
From the Houston Business Journal..."The Port of Houston Authority is anticipating paying its two new cruise lines, Princess Cruises and Norwegian Cruise Line, a sum of around $7 million over the course of about five years as an incentive to attract their business to the Bayport Cruise Terminal."
So in fact the cruise lines are being PAID to call at Bayport! Why? To support economic development of the port area. I would like to thank all of the Harris County taxpayers.
We will be spending a few dollars here and there for dining, but our hotel nights will be on points.

Rent a car, there is a free shuttle between Port Everglades and the airport. Take a canal cruise with Gondolas West, or visit Flamingo Gardens. Have a long late lunch on Las Olas Boulevard.

So...Princess is a Coca-Cola cruise line?
YEAH!!!

Deb - thanks for the review! You said the buffet set up was bad. Is it the old single line style? Or was it different action stations and pods?
Seems some people do not understand that with the stations you don't line up , you just pop in and out.

The fog delays are not anyone's fault, but maybe our expectations are too great. If you've ever cruised out of Miami or Lauderdale, there really is no need to arrive a day early, or stay an extra day. Unless you are boarding a plane during the winter coming from the northeast or another snowy icy area. The Florida ports know what they are doing, and have been successful for many years.
If you cruise out of Houston Bayport have insurance, use Princess air or transfers, or add a day at both the beginning and end of the cruise.

An upgrade to a balcony suite is acceptable, but a move to a different category cabin is not. We booked directly with Princess, whom do I contact to insure that we do not lose our chosen cabin?
-
I'm new to Princess, sailing on the CB January 2014.
Does Princess do port upgrades?
For instance, on Disney, after completing check in at the port, you head over to the supervisor desk, and if cabins or suites are available they will offer a paid upgrade.

Glad to hear the CB is on her way across the Gulf of Mexico. Does the ship pass "close by" any offshore oil rigs? I would love to get some pictures.

Thank you for the nice review! I'll be on Dawn for twelve nights in April, and enjoy watching movies in the cabin. Did the TV system have pay per view movies? Hopefully, recent releases? By any chance, did you notice if the TV had HDMI inputs?
One other question; were there bars of soap and hand lotion in the bathroom?
-
Is it true that in the NON-suite staterooms there is only liquid soap, no actual bars?

psb...just checked for my one way rental, MCO to PC, 8AM - 3PM, October 22nd. For a compact; Hertz $92.20, Avis prepaid $82.23 Ouch!

By using your American Express card and BCD discount code S208200 you avoid having to pay a drop off fee.
This discount code is public and available to any American Express card holder.
$43.12 all in from Lake Buena Vista to Cape Canaveral for a class B compact in October 2011.

I find it odd that the CT does not include a wine pairing with each course.

OP, sorry, didn't mean to yell!
Just wanted to be sure someone didn't write down the wrong number and be surprised later.

Regal - Poolside cabana questions
in Princess Cruises
Posted
Saw that Regal has cabanas poolside at the Retreat adults only pool.
1. How much per day?
2. How do I reserve one, and can I do so in advance of sailing?
Thanks for the help!
