  1. This was happening to me the past 2 weeks. The offers for H5 were from 1250 , 1000 or none. Finally decided to go for 1000$ offer and kept getting no offers. Called today and it was 750$. Took it right away could not believe it. All 7 h5 were gone today. I would call every morning to check.

  2. I don't know the definitive answer but knowing how NCL reads its own rules I cannot see it. SDP means Specialty Dining Package; if you want wine you would need the UBP; the Ultimate Beverage Package.

You might be lucky if you get someone who will bend the rules but don't be too disappointed if you are turned down.

I don't have sdp I have dinning credit . Suppose to work for specialty dinning. When I got it it was suppose to cover 2 meals now with a la carte it will be for one with some money left. Just looking for a way to spend it without spending more and going go another specialty place .

  3. I read a comment that one can use choice dinning credit to buy wine in specialty restaurant. Did anyone actually did it. Do I just walking and ask for a bottle of wine? I was planning to buy a 3 day SDP once aboard but we decided that we only want to do Le bistro as usual. So I will have some money left. Will restaurant sell unopened bottle of wine? Please share how you used your CHOSPD credit

  4. I feel your pain on this one. We also got the credit and I thought I'd buy the SDP onboard (even started a thread about it months ago) and now it's not even close to covering the cost of even a 3 day SDP. Then again, when we booked the cruise, my family of five could have dined in Le Bistro for $100. Now it's a la carte + 18% and there's no way we'd get out of there for even close to the $100. I feel like that credit has been significantly de-valued.

Now, I think all these increases have just saved me money. Because now I'm not buying the SDP and I'm not taking the family to specialty restaurants. I'll just be ordering bottles of wine for take out from the specialty restaurants (someone has previously reported that the specialty dining credit covers alcohol purchased in the restaurant).

If that is tru about wine it would be great I am also stack with the 50$ promo

  5. It does not show up as a la carte, based on what you posted. It shows up as no charge at the time of booking because you have a dining plan. Have you ever been to a Brazilian Churrascaria before? It's impossible to charge a la carte. You don't even order from a menu.

I do not have a dinning plan and I have been to the restaurant before that's why I am asking . I was surprised myself to see it. Maybe be there will be different option to get it. With or within salad bar for example.

  6. Moderno is $24.95 and it is not a la carte.

It shows up as a la carte on our cruise

    Moderno Churrascaria

If you’re looking for a unique experience, our authentic Brazilian steakhouse is a must. Start with an impressive salad bar of imported cheeses, olives, cured ...

    PRICE $ 0.00

Price includes an 18% gratuity and specialty service charge.

  7. Now that the reservation fee for specialty dining is 0$ what is the fee for canceling in less then 24 hours? Thinking of booking specialty on the first night but not sure about it. It also depends if I can get a SDP with my dining credit OBC promo. Can't get an answer on this from CS so will need to figure out on board and maybe cancel reservation on the first day.

  8. The days when the slide was closed due to waves were harsh on our last cruise. And it was on the Gem. Not much more to do. He did not wanted to go to the kids so it was tough to keep him

entertained . Just think if the one thing you were planning to do all day at see is closed. Like the spa or casino or the bars.

  9. I think some of you are missing the point... of COURSE nobody books a cruise JUST for one element. However, the closing of ANY major attraction onboard is irritating, and moreover, the lack of communication and disclosure is worse, IMHO. What if the hot tubs weren't operational? The show theatre? One of the specialty restos that you were counting on dining in? Any of those would be disappointing, no?

That's why we are discussing this. Not because of a large plastic tube :)

All my kid is talking about is how he is going to take the slide all day long :). He would be super bumped if it would be closed. On our last cruise we hit rough sees and the slide was closed. My son was very sad about it and just wanted to stay in the room

So for some of us it is a big deal and the kids are disappointed.

  10. I am wondering if dessert and sides are included with the order of the entree, since there is no mention of pricing for these items. If that is the case, it would eliminate some of the concerns around people bouncing from restaurant to restaurant for dinner.

We always done la bistro and the main reason for me was mushroom soup. I wonder if now I can just get that and then go to the main dinning room later. I wonder if they allow to go with la carte pricing
