Enjoy it however you see fit. It's your vacation. We specifically pick NCL so that we don't have to do it but if someone feels they want to be fancy go for it.

Jan 10, 2016 Dawn is going to Belize City. Received the email yesterday.

I am also booked for Jan 2016 but out of New Orleans. I have read so many negative things about NCL that I have wondered should I go with another cruise line. I realized why I chose NCL in the first place. My husband dresses up for work every day. He wants to wear jeans and shorts. He wore jeans at the captains cocktail party and was still treated very well. He like to eat on vacation not vacation around his eating time. We are frugal people but splurged of the suite for the extra room, perks and service. No other cruise line can offer this at the same cost. Figure out what you want then decide who to pick. None of the changes recently made changes why I pick NCL.

Anone know how the butlers and concierge are on the Dawn. I am in the DOS. The person that just posted didn't seem impressed with service. We loved Theresa on the Jewel

I am booked Jan 10,2016 for Western Carribean. 60 pounds to lost lost it 2 years ago but gained it back.Looking for motivation here. Good luck girls.We can do it.

Even though we stay in a suite I like to walk or jog in the morning then take coffee and dates back to the room for husband as he takes mess in the morning as he gets dressed.

This is what I want to read. I am looking forward to:

1.Fresh flowers in my suite

2. 7 days without any electronics to distract my kids,me or my husband

3. Cagreys breakfast

4. The ocean

5. sunsets

6. Dancing on the ship because I will never see any of you again

7. Meeting new people

8. Snorkeling

9. New Orleans

10. Everything else that happens during the week

We are on the Dawn in Jan out of New Orleans to Western Carribean. We are in the front of ship.Taking seabands,ginger and possibly taking patches for my one son. Did not get sick last time same cruise but the Jewel. Hoping for the best this time. Posts like this scare me

Someone started a thread like this for the Pearl and it is very informative. I am going on the Dawn and will love all the input I can get

On the Jewel in Jan of 2014 we went from an inside cabin and a balcony for 4 total people to a 2 bedroom suite for $171 total. We did lose our $200 obc but got $300 obc. No Brainer I did not even consult my husband. Booked a DOS for this Jan because 6 of us are going.

We are in the same boat. My husband and 22 year old son got the alcohol package and myself with 3 other kids received the soda package. The 22 yr old is listed as passenger 2 with full fare. He got all 21 latitude points for this cruise 7 for 7 days 7 for suite 7 for booking 9 months out. I got nothing because of kids sail free

Since ncl raised the suite gratuities to 14.95 a day and the rest of the ship is only paying 12.95 do we still need to tip the butler? We do not ask for special stuff and we never used the concierge last time

We are booked for Jan 2016 on the Dawn. My family is composed of my husband and myself with four sons 23,20,17 and 12. We are currently booked in the 2 bedroom family suite but thinking of upgrading to the deluxe owner suite 12500 is available. I would move because I like the idea of the 2 older sons in the 2nd bedroom with a double bed and no one sleeping above them in a pull down. Putting 2 in the living room in a pullout double. The room has more room overall. Please extra alcohol is nice and sparkling water.

 

These my concerns:

1. Conflicting information if that room has a second bathroom

2. Can people walk in the outside and see into your room. The room is all glass. My husband would have a fit.

3. How much will I miss the balcony.

4. Does that room have its own temperature control?

 

Any input would be a great help.

Our family of 4 went in January on the Jewel. We never used the concierge. The butler brought 1 movie, breakfast 1 day and the daily little snacks. We tipped $120

What date are you in that port? We are on NCL Jewel leaving New Orleans 1/26/14

We booked 2 rooms on NCL Jewel in January 2014. I found out that the Blue Lagoon is above us. How noisy will this be? Yikes!

Has anyone used High Seas Pirate and Snorkel Adventure in Cozumel?

I am looking to go on our first cruise in about a year or two so I am just surfing. I was looking at what kind of clothes to wear. This seems like such a nice close knit group. I can't wait to go knowing what kind of people go on cruises.
