Very sorry to hear this—always enjoyed his "bon mots" .

Wow! A kinkajou on page 31.
Regent certainly knows how to get my attention.

For LadyandtheTramp, It would add another country to my list! I remember reading about 2 guys that were competing for the title of Most Countries Visited, and they were sneaking into countries that were being formed in Africa, trying to bribe officials to stamp their passports. Each had visited over 300 countries. I'm nowhere near that; however, I think I should get credit for Yugoslavia.

The Shah was trying to reach someone in Washington, I think he was trying to get out of the country at the time. Anyway I hope our cruise continues as planned.
-
Although I did speak to the Shah once. Really. His aide dialed the wrong area code.

I'm on the Barcelona to Dubai cruise (while I hoping for some sort of special badge or certificate for transversing the Strait of Hormuz), I would be very happy with DaveFr's solution. Have hotel, excursion, and flight booked in Dubai. I hope someone from Regent is monitoring this thread. Visiting Iran is not on my bucket list.
-
Watching this also, already made plans for an extra day at the end of the cruise.

Flossie009, Looking forward to meeting you at the Meet & Greet.
It does get interesting trying to give Overland information to a third party when two posters have two different results from the same site.

I just called Regent, I was told this shows up automatically after you book it (it didn't). But it will not show up as an option until after you book it. And you can't book Overland Programs online.
Edit to above post—The Compartment is labeled "Hotel/Land Packages".
-
I think I've done this. My question is, after adding my booking under "Customize Your Voyage, I have a shaded area that is divided into 6 compartments. The top 3 from left to right read: "Roundtrip Airfare", "Shore Excursions", and "Beverages, Dining and Gratuities". In this case, the 4th compartment says "Butler service", and the other 2 compartments are blank. Another poster has a compartment that says "Overland Programs" with the 3 overland trips listed.
Just wondering why that doesn't show up on my booking.

In a discussion on a Roll Call, there was a a question about Overland Programs. I am only able to see that information on the general RSSC site. Another poster is able to access the info under their Manage This Booking site. Even though I have booked an Overland Tour through Regent and my TA is aware of it (the charge went through them and is on the invoice), the only information I have that describes my overland booking, appears on the calendar part of the itinerary.
My question is who adds the Overland Program information to the Manage This Program part of the site? Does that come from Regent or from the Travel Agent?
Is there a way to access this information on my own? Thanks for any help.

Bill, Thanks so much, got it. I was trying to find that link under the "Shore Excursions—customize" section of my booked cruise, instead of the general cruise description. I will make a note in my reference notes for Regent.

Hi All,
How does one find where to download PDFs of excursions on booked cruises—I know this was answered in the past, and I was able to do it. I can't find where to do it again. Thanks.
-
I'll be on that one (January) also. We should sign up for a Meet & Greet, as Regent does a very nice job with those, and the first 2 days are sea days.

Thanks RallyDave (and Travelcat2), I always get good advice on this board. I have copied the info into my file and am still digesting the information. We are not as interested in the points as getting the coverage. Wish I'd known about this sooner, having recently paid with our AmEx cards.
Interesting info from Wendy about the insurance payments, but we won't be going on an extended cruise in the immediate future—cats.
We don't pay as much attention to the travel programs as we did when we were working. American Airlines started the frequent flier program. It took them a couple years before they figured out not to give miles on free first class trips. We went to England and Hawaii twice free and got miles for the trips. The good old days—LOL.

Wes, A question off topic, I have been thinking about getting a Chase Sapphire Reserve card, right now use AmEx Platinum. Why would you charge a cruise over $15000 on Chase Sapphire? Does that card offer more benefits, or is that just a personal choice? Thanks, Susan

I have used Regent's air in the past, always with a deviation (now listed as a customization), but don't remember the deviation being charged both ways. I made the reservations both directions at the same time, going one way on Delta and returning on BA. When, I made the reservations, the TA said there would be an additional charge to fly on Delta plus a deviation charge. I would I would have to pay ahead of time to fly on Delta. (The $350 deviation was charged at the time—February, but not the additional up charge—$500 pp for Delta, the opposite of what I expected.) I just recently got the updated statement from the TA, and I have been charged another $350 plus a seat assignment charge of $500, for which I really didn't get a satisfactory explanation. I guess the seat assignment is standard, after reading through the comments on this thread, but still it was a nasty surprise. The "included air" was a lot more expensive than I thought it would be.
I am still wondering about the seat assignment charge, if Regent added that or the TA (who is an assistant to the TA that does this booking. I use a TA that gives rebates. Thanks for any advice.

Hi Sheila,
I didn't see you again after meeting you at the Meet & Greet. Thank you for recommending O Faia. Great Fado music—we really enjoyed the experience.

Regent sure must love the Oyster Bay Sauvignon Blanc.

Wow, love the Key West photos—not a good time to be returning to Ohio. I am originally from Michigan and am happy not to be there in February. I really enjoyed following your cruise. Thank you for taking the time to send the tour information. We are looking forward to our cruise, going in the opposite direction from yours.

Terry, I have a similar cruise booked for this October. I really enjoyed your photos. I may have missed it, but could you give me the name of the private tour companies that you used in Egypt and Jordan? Many thanks, Susan

Abercrombie and Kent uses real people. I'm in a brochure and on their web site. Just look for the short overweight blond.

Are drinks included?

Just back from our first Crystal cruise (7 days round trip from New Orleans). Agree with TS. The coffee is the best, including even in room service. I had heard from friends that they weren't impressed with the food, so for me it was actually better than expected. I still prefer Regent's food. I think Crystal has a more limited menu in the dining room.
We loved Magic Castle at Sea. We have been to the Magic Castle in LA several times, and had a friend who sometimes appeared there.
We booked a small balcony stateroom, since it was a short cruise, and we just wanted to try another luxury line. I really liked the way the small bathroom was thought out. The shower in the tub was easy to use, the tub shallow and the side of the tub was narrow, making it easy to get in and out. Grab bars were perfectly placed.
The ship's decor seem uneven. The staterooms and some public areas had sophisticated decor and other public areas and specialty restaurants appeared really dated.
The few shows that we saw weren't that impressive. I had hoped to take some of the computer classes but didn't get to them. We only had 2 sea days, and the last days, we were in the roughest seas that we have experienced. The rough seas lasted about 30 hours. We took one ship's tour in Belize to a private Zoo consisting of local rescue animals.
At this point, we prefer Regent, but would certainly consider cruising Crystal again.
All June 2021 Cruises waitlisted

4 days ago, I checked my Istanbul to Athens June cruise. 3 categories were waitlisted, but everything else showed available. Yesterday, everything was waitlisted. I think this is the signal that June will be cancelled.
