Yes, at San Pedro Port for Princess ships, there is a Priority Check in counter . There is also an Elite lounge with offerings of Continental breakfast items. There is comfortable seating different from general seating in an walled off section separate from general seating. There is also a Platinum seating area outside the enclosed Elite lounge.

Now you're making me fret! We are booked on 28-day RT-LA (So.Pacific) and 18 of them are sea days! Read and relax is what dr'spin does, add knitting for me, and wants somewhere with a window/view to do so, otherwise he might as well be home! I know this cruise fills up, although maybe not too many 3rd/4th per cabin...
Is Internat'l Cafe the only place to get espresso drinks?
Hi crystalspin, one of my favorite quiet spaces during the day with lots of windows and views is up in Adajio's Lounge. Next to Share by Curtis Stone on Deck 16. In good weather the Promenade deck has nice lounge chairs to settle into.
Yes, the International Cafe is the only place to get espresso drinks. You may also order them while dinning in the dinning rooms.
Bon Voyage :D

It doesn't matter. The Captain rotates the ship so it will be seen from all angles.

Boarding times are a suggestion in hopes of reducing crowding and wait times. The later you arrive the better chance you have of not needing to wait to board. Check in walk on. The earlier one arrives the longer the wait.

Thanks Zef for taking the time to do a review and post pictures I really enjoyed it. Not a small task.
I very much enjoyed the cruise. I thought the Emerald was not the best choice for Alaska. I missed the covered pool. But I did find the crew, staff and officers to be some of the best. I even did have the pleasure of seeing and talking to our Captain on a few occasions. I thought the beds were the best. Mine was not too hard. First time on board ship I got comfortable sleep.
Great review, thanks again.

Thanks everyone for sharing your answers. I would not hesitate to buy the package at $99.00. We sail in just a month and I have not seen the offer drop from the pre purchase of $199.00. Normally I don't even have the embarkation pic.s taken but this is a special cruise. I am taking my DDL on her first trip to Alaska and celebrating her milestone birthday and more. I thought it would be nice to have some special pictures taken with her. Sounds like if we plan on buying more than 4 photos that is would be worth the $199.00 package and make sure we jump in front of the lens as often as we can and really get our moneys worth.
Several years ago I treated the whole family to a cruise together. I did not think ahead to buy the package. We ended up having a lot of pictures taken and of course I could not leave them behind. It was really pricey as I recall but I do treasure the photos of my family all together.
This is another one of those special times. I know we will take most of the pictures on our own cameras, just having the professional shots would be nice.
I would not be interested in the upscale Black and White photos and have no problem declining them.

Thank you for your quick response. While it would be nice if they brought back the $99.00 deal, it sounds like you all agree that at the $199.00 is still of value if we take advantage of most of the photo ops.
We are on a longer cruise, Thank you for sharing your opinions!
-
What is your opinion? Is pre purchasing the Photo Package a good idea?
This is a special occasion cruise. I probably buy a few pictures either way.

I vote go inside if that fits your budget. Don't wait another year. I sailed Alaska inside my first trip and never regretted it. I spent most of my time up on the decks anyway. Much better panoramic viewing on the open decks. Spend any extra budget on excursions!
Sometimes their are inside or obstructed view cabins that are close in price... Then iI would chose the ov just for the daylight in the cabin.
Go! Alaska is AMAZING.❄🚢

I can not wait and thank the powers that be and Pam for pushing for this home port cruise.
I booked as soon as I could this afternoon. I sailed a similar Itinerary on another cruise lines ship repositioning cruise, almost the same dates. I packed in layers for any weather. We had Temps a few days in the 60's that felt so warm our tour guide passed out Popsicles. Cruising the Glacier was freezing with large Icebergs. Just spectacular. We saw all the wild life. Orcas, Eagles, beaver, seals even bear.
I can not wait to go back again.
I love sea days. There are not too many for me. I look forward to enjoying both the land and the sea.
Hope to see you on board.

The Noro virus has been prevalent in our schools here in So.Cal. I doubt it is specific to the Crown Princess. Could have been brought on by anyone. It is going around here.
A lot of hand washing with soap and hot water would help

Thank you for your mo
great pictures and posts. We will be sailing on her in 20 days.
Stay well and have a wonderful time.

I prefer deck 10. True if you look straight down you are looking at the balcony below. The view is not obstructed of the ocean! You will have great views.
Due to El Nino we have been enjoying many whale sightings this year. Many have come close to shore. The warmer waters are bringing many surprises to our waters. There is a good chance you will spot whales, dolphins and maybe even a sea turtle right from your balcony. :D

Have a great cruise!
Looking forward to hearing your reviews.:D
We will be on in Feb. I have a couple questions if you do have time to answer but you R & R is most important.
What night is formal night?
Who is the CD?
Who is the Maitre D ?
What movies are on MUTS?
Thank you for posting!

Can anyone tell me the difference (other than the obvious) between these rooms and an ordinary Caribe balcony? Are they just bigger or does the interior have a different configuration?
Thanks
There is no difference in the inside cabin size compared to other deck balcony plans.
The difference is in the outside balcony size 9x9.
IMHO a roll away will be a tight squeeze.
-
I am not sure, but since it is our second night at sea, it could also be the formal night and have a special menu as well.
-
I had the same experience on several Hawaiian cruises AZbeachboy.
But they were longer cruises. I hope they will have the same thing for our shorter 7 day cruise.

How fun! You did a sensational job. You made me smile. I really enjoyed your pictures. You are blessed to have a Grandmother to travel with you and she is blessed to have a fine Grandson that you are by her side.
Thank you so much for the great review. :)

Yikes, so trying to get back on the subject...........
What are some of the special requests made in the dining room?
I like to order the pasta dish as an appetizer at dinner. I don't think that counts, as it is suggested on the menu.
Love the Melon Sorbet... could I request to have that every night for dessert on the first night?

Great Review Jane :D

I am just off the Golden Princess weekend cruise today as well. I did not find it to be a booze cruise like another cruise line can be. It was family friendly.
It was my first 3 day Princess cruise. ( I enjoy the much longer cruises most of the time). I found it to be an abbreviated version of a cruise, it was a nice get away.
There were large groups. Some were corporate groups, wedding party, many birthday parties and some very large families.
It was also the weekend of the Playoffs that were featured on M U T S. There were some enthusiastic fans but not unruly.
There were the usual scattering of Manner Deficient Pax. But not more than usual.
Debarkation was a breeze. I am local so I chose to hang out until last call and was through customs at 11:15 and home soon after having missed morning traffic.

Thank you all for responding! ;)

Thank you so much NUGal.
I really appreciate it. I am taking my daughter in law on her first cruise. It is just a short one but would love to treat her to tea on our balcony.
Great news thank you. :D
Just back from first time on Royal -- misc impressions
in Princess Cruises
Posted
Thanks for the review. I will be on the Royal for the first time Nov . 30th.
I have sailed with the Medallion before. Maybe I am in the minority, but I don't want to carry my phone around with me to use the apps. I don't like being tracked. I sail to disconnect .
I did notice my last Medallion cruise there were fewer servers going around offering drink service. So like the self check out at the grocery stores, this is probably a way to cut the need for man hours by way of using our apps.
