  1. Received mail from Princess yesterday afternoon about upgrade our cabin to P310.

I told the Princess agent within 2 hours after I received the mail that we decline the upgrade and want to stay in our original cabin. She said that she would fill out the form for me.

This afternoon I got another mail that showed our stateroom has change to P310 in Cruise Personalizer and I talked to Princess again after more than 30 minutes waiting and was told I have to wait until next Monday to check the Personalizer and call them again.

I though that we have 48 hours window to decide and we won't lose our original cabin. Did they already gave our cabin away ?

The reason we decline the upgrade because we both are light sleeper and early riser and that cabin is right under the Casino.

What a big head ache, what else can I do ?

This is unfortunate and frustrating. I had a similar experience. My upgrade was from a nice carib deck balcony cabin to a noisy aloha deck under the Horizon court and pool area.

I was given the same instructions. Finally, because it was just a short cruise to get away..... I asked them to cancel my booking all together. I was prepared to go another time. I did not want to take the chance and be miserable in a noisy "upgraded" cabin with smaller balcony.

I was asked to wait on the phone... when the rep. returned I was assured I had my original booking.

I was taken of the upgrade list.

Some "upgrades" are really not. One needs to review the deck plans before accepting. Bumped all the way forward or under a noisy deck is not an upgrade. IMHO

    I wish you luck.

  2. Good for you! Have a wonderful cruise. Upgrade if you can afford it but don't sweat it if you don't want to. I cruise solo 1/2 the time and often get an inside. I never regret it. You are not in your cabin enough anyway.

Go ahead and be excited! I am excited for you!:D

  5. For my 2012 Hawaiian cruise I only have a deposit down. My friend wanted to go after I booked. It was not a problem but the price of the cruise had gone up since I booked. So the price for both of us went up a bit as final payment has not been made.

For my up coming cruise 2011 I booked solo and paid in full. Another friend wanted to go last minute. No problem. Only additional port charges and taxes for additional person was added as final payment was already made for 2.

So maybe your price could be affected if it goes up before final payment. Maybe you will get lucky and it will drop!

  7. That's what I'm a little worried about' date=' people who have no respect for other people's property just taking stuff if nobody is around.[/color']

No worries. I always decorate my door. Often I print out or bring along more than one of what ever I decorate the door with. Last April I was on a 19 day cruise, it was mostly "retired" pax. You would not think that crowd would "steal" the door decor. THEY DID! :p I never put up anything that is of great value.

Go decorate. Just don't put up anything you will expect to bring home.;)

    Have fun! :D

  8. Hi, I also like to decorate the door and the balcony! On the Conquest last year I made a magnetic sign for one of our fellow C C cruisers that were celebrating their Honeymoon on board. It had a picture of a Groom carrying his Bride over the threshold, if I remember. We stuck it on as a surprise. I buy the 8 x 11 magnetic computer printable sheets. I print the CC Meet and greet signs on one of these. As well as a card stock version that I laminate for the doors that are not metal. For Hawaii I purchased a great door jam decoration from WWW.Orientaltrading.com. It had palm trees etc. For the balcony in Hawaii we hung grass skirts. In the W. Caribbean we had inflatable flamingos.

Yes, often by the end of the cruise, the decorations have been (uh hem clear throat) taken. It is still fun.

I love the idea of the post it notes and magnetic letters. Very creative!

I don't know when cabin door decorating started. I think it is practiced mostly by die hard cruisers. We do like to have fun! It does help to find your cabin. The decorations make for good conversation and fun.

On occasion I will travel inside cabin. When I do I have fun making posters of the ports I will be traveling. I post them up where the "window" would be. LOL

    So fun. Bon Voyage!
