We used Bernard's for transportation to go to Pinel Island. The day there was magnificent. Leaving Pinel Bernard met up with our tour and gave a narrated tour back to the ship. It is not one of his scheduled tours. It was a private tour someone from of our roll call put together.
This December we are booked to do Bernard's tour #2 that does Marigot, Orient Beach, and Maho Beach. Just got our confirmation on Monday. It is his company but he has many vehicles and other tour guides working for him. No one is guaranteed that you will get Bernard. But he has an excellent reputation and I am confident we will have a great day. You need to make reservations for a tour before you get to the island.
It depends what you want to do that day. Many times we just hop on the water taxi and do what some other posters stated and stay on the Dutch side. One more recommendation. Go to the Guavaberry Shop on Front ST. They have delicious Guavaberry Coladas and sell a great barbecue sauce and liquors.
Enjoy St. Maarten. It is one of our favorite stops.

I had 9076 in January of 2012 on Serenade. While we did hear the entertainers in the Centrum at night, it ended by 11 and wasn't so loud that we were kept awake. Our balcony was huge and the location was extremely convenient.
I wonder if the European itinerary has some differences in the entertainment and ending times? The Serenade cruise I was on started in San Juan. I know that Europeans tend to eat later in the evening and may stay up later for entertainment. Could the itinerary have an effect on the type, time, and volume of the centrum entertainment?
I have 9078 booked for my upcoming Jewel cruise. I hope that my experience will be like my last and not like the experience that the OP had! I made my final payment today.
If you could please report here after your Nov. Jewel cruise about the noise issue or not I would most appreciate it. Many thanks. Chris and Carl

Oh no!!! We just recently booked cabin 9092 on the Jewel for Feb. 2015. I thought this cabin was a winner for the large balcony! Is noise more of an issue once the ships go into drydock and they use the centrum as a main venue? There were some aft cabins but we were afraid of the motion and vibrations. Do you think I should move? We are on for a back-to-back. So this is a two week commitment. Jewel doesn't go into drydock until 2016. Does that make a difference? Anyone on Jewel recently in a hump cabin please help by responding. Was noise an issue if your cabin was right off the centrum? Thanks

Yes, you can use the balcony discount on a guarantee.
The D+ discount for a 10 night cruise is $350 if booked more than 6 months in advance. The D+ discount is $325 if booked less than 6 months in advance.
Thank you for your quick response. That December cruise is looking more tempting each minute. Throw in "Diamonds in December " (I know it has not been announced for this year yet)and it will be too good to pass up.

Sorry if this has been asked before but I did not see the answer. Can a Diamond Plus balcony discount be used on a guaranteed balcony rate? And am I correct on a 10 nighter it would be $325 off a balcony? Thanks for your answers.

To which "sets" of staff changes are you referring?
There is normally a staff member who is assigned semi-permanently and fill in staff when the "main" person goes on holidays.
There are a number of floating people who fill in from ship to ship.
The main HD for Silhouette is Bernard Stacher. Some of the floaters fill in for a month at a time and are then required on another ship.
For example, Patti Honacki was CD on Eclipse in January, went on holidays, will fill in for Alejandro on Infinity in April and will then move on to Solstice.
Thanks for the updates. Dark yellow rows are the results of recent posts.
Thanks for the updated list. We appreciate your hard work trying to keep this all up-to-date as possible. Chris and Carl

Here is a partial update. Thanks for all the posts that allow me to keep this list. Spelling will be corrected when I can find my glasses.
Thanks for updating the chart. We were recently on Eclipse and Reflection but sorry I have no info to add to the chart. We really appreciate you doing this.

Thanks for posting the dailies. I sent them on to a friend who will be sailing with us on the Feb.9th sailing. Can't wait to be on Reflection. We just loved the Silhouette and will be on the Eclipse right before our Reflection sailing. Only some 30 days away and then we will be at sea for 21 days getting away from the cold and snow in Pennsylvania. Thanks again for all the pdf's.

now its only a week away :)
I just checked. It is a 143 days until I sail on the Eclipse for 2 weeks!! Then followed by 1 week on Reflection! Can't wait.

Zafer is scheduled to go to Solstice for the repositioning. Some others are: Cemel, who I believe was on Eclipse. Adrian, who is on either Summit or Infinity. Sirjon (spelling is wrong) who was on Connie. I'm blanking out on some others, but that's a start. The RM is responsible for all the restaurants. All Maitre d's report to him. That's why the position is important to passengers. The F&B Manger is over the RM, but you rarely see him.
I would agree restaurant manager would be helpful. Srdjan Prastalo was on Connie and now on Summit. :)

Hi Jackie :)
Lionel really has a fan club. :D I will say hi from you and Sheila also. Anyone else? I will make a list. He would probably like this a lot, although he is a very modest young man. Just an idea.
Anne
Send him best regards from Chris and Carl.:) We sailed on the Summit on July 29th. He was a terriffic Captain's Club Host and we enjoyed our time talking with him.

I second that. Looking forward to thanking him personally when we sail on the Eclipse. This is a tough job and Arno keeps it up-to-date when he gets new info from recent passengers. Thanks for your hard work. Chris and Carl
