Although I certainly envy those on the current sailings, Im thinking those that parked outdoors at hotels that offered a parking package will be in for a bit of a shock.

We were told on the 12/12 cruise that Vintages will also be gone.

And just when did this esteemed writer sail on Quantum?

Nice to know I am not considered one of the masses!

We used the British Colonial Hilton in Nassau. Easy walk from the jetty. It worked out to about $175 for the 4 of us (2 Adults 2 kids), with over $100 of that available for use at the bar for food or drink.
The beach area is small but adequate, it also gives a great view back to the cruise ship jetty. Nice size pool with and great Bahama Mommas (3 for the price of 2) .

Jeff

You can see QotS in the background.

Now, if I can only score reservations to the character breakfast. I plan on making them on board as my last resort!
Booking the Character breakfast will be a breeze once on board. Even with a reservation get there early for a prime table near the stage. These are the larger tables, sit about 8 if I remember correctly.
Short vid from the Character Breakfast warm up dance.

For those not liking change, would you have been happy with the "same old, same old" ?
And if so why even consider going on a new Ship full of new technology & new concepts?
That baffles me.

Having sailed her, I must say our impression was on the WOW side. Sure there were things that left you scratching your head but the Ship exceeded our expectations. It was our 5th cruise.
What I found while going through too many of the negatives was the "a friend of a friend sailed on QotS and she/he said it was horrible but doesnt come on CC so I just have to tell someone...."
I carry the extra pounds gained through DD as a badge of honour!

If you think the smoke in the casino is bad now, wait until Nassau and the peeps come back on board with their cheap "Cuban" cigars!

We used our package there with no problem. We had UP which covered you up to $12.

Adventure Ocean is deck 12 port side. We were able to register Zac at 4PM day of departure, they then opened at 7pm that night.
Staff were great, Zac never wanted to leave!

There is only the deadbolt on the door.
Another thing we noticed is that the door can still be opened from the outside once the deadbolt is used if you use your WOW band.
You can not stop access to your cabin.

Bummer. Thanks for letting us know. When was RCI going to tell us this? We booked a 10 bottle wine package quite some time ago for our 1/11/15 Quantum cruise, so we will look for our refund the 1st night. I guess we will be spending more time in Vintages.
Thanks again.
We made good use of Vintages with the Ultimate Drink pkg. Here is a twitter pic of part of the wine list. Anything $12 and under was covered by glass.

Has anyone bought any of the drink packages. Can you use them for the specialty drinks in the specialty restaurants ??
If you have the Ultimate Package it would cover the specialty drinks for $12, which is what the price was every time.

Jeff

Zac struggles with his noodles but did manage to finish them.

We had the UP and had no problems. Maybe we got lucky but we never experienced slow service in waiting for a drink while at lunch or dinner.
Every restaurant had great cocktails to choose from ($12) and 3 or 4 wines in the $12 range.
Enjoy!

Jeff

I would say worth the $10. A bit of confusion with booking but we got one using the Royal IQ app. Not crowded, lots of time to take pics.

Hi Andrea
Just check my summary and we spent $30. That fed my wife & I plus our 8 yr old. More than enough plates for the 3 of us.
Highlight was the Truffle Lobster Roll and it was $13.

I found it a bit odd that a suite guest flashing their WOW band would have that type of privilege so I tried it, even though I was not in a suite...it worked I was now able to call an elevator on demand.
My wife wasn't impressed with me, kids thought it was a hoot. I refrained from doing it unless someone else tried to bump us from an elevator.
That lasted until Coco Cay when RCI got it fixed.
But how about that art!

We sailed on the Dec 12-20 cruise.
I meant to get a sound bite from elevators of the "Deck Levan" announcement. Any chance someone has it?
At 1st it came across as kind of odd but quickly grew on all of our family. We even noticed others smiling and repeating it as we hit that deck.
For the first couple days of the cruise there was an issue with the elevators going into priority mode. An announcement would come over telling you to exit and you wound up on some random deck. Around the second or third time this happened a guy told me it is because some suite guests were able to flash their WOW band and the elevator would go into priority mode.
More on that in a bit...

We didn't have any of the Sashimi but meant to go back for some. Since your party enjoys Japanese cuisine I'm sure you will find reason to make a couple visits. The Sushi Chefs were like artists, try to sit along their side to watch them at work.

Certainly not a failure in our recent experience. We had made reservations for every night, wound up changing most of them. Granted we ate early most nights (somewhere between 5:30-7:00).
We will not go back to the MDR concept after enjoying the flexibility and variety of DD.

Jeff

We did not have a problem. We went to 270 told the barkeep we had drink pkgs, showed them our boarding paperwork and voila, 2 nicely chilled glasses of Kim Crawford.
