I think if NCL wants to not staff their Splash Academy that is totally their decision to make.

The part that I personally have an issue with is them not being upfront about it.  Neither their website nor their booking representatives give any advance warning to families that the clubs are not open and available on their cruise.

They will gladly take your money and make you a reservation for a cruise with your children. Then...SURPRISE....they notify you 2 weeks before departure that there are no facilities available for the children to enjoy without their parents.

If that information was available to parents then they could make an informed decision for themselves whether it is the best cruise option for their family.

I totally agree.  I contacted NCL prior to booking to confirm the facilities would be open prior to booking.  I was advised AO and even Guppies would be open in March.  I found out through the boards as well that was not correct.  I contacted NCL again to confirm and was advised that it was never in the plans to open so soon.  I couldn't believe it.  How does more than one person get that information wrong {rep had to check with someone else to confirm).  I emailed them a week or two ago and have yet to hear back.  I'm not wanting to cancel, but definitely wanting to change the ship and sailing date by a day as it changes things a lot for my family.

Last night, Cruise  Director announced 50 cases on board, mostly crew.  Grease show was canceled, the ice show was goin on as planned.  They are planning to be in Coco Cay today.

They made the stops, they were on Western Caribbean. The next two weeks  have two different Eastern Caribbean itineraries

The industry is changing every day as is the situation on board.

I would imagine they will be short staffed given the new Covid cases.   Embarkation for the January 2 cruise  is pushed back to hours.

Hi, I saw in another thread a guest was able to get an estimate passenger count for upcoming sailings from guest services. I was wondering if you would be able to see what the current expected guest count is for 1/23/2022 on Harnony if you have a chance. ?

    Thank you

  3. I was looking forward to taking the 2:45pm departure back to Road Town (per a photo a saw), but after reviewing the website schedule 3:30 is the last until 5pm.  Has anyone taken the 3:30 Speedy's departure ?  Is it reliable?  We'll be on the NCL Encore in December which leaves at 5pm.

    Thx

Depends on the bar and bartender. I’m on Dream now. There are none at the alchemy but I grab them from the bar next to alchemy. They have them in the casino and atrium but you may have to grab them yourself depending on the bartender.

    Awesome, thank you!

Just off the Freedom, yes you did have to ask. After our first visit to the Alchemy my wife always had a straw in her Basil Drop, I didn't need one for my drinks. You just don't use a straw with a martini. When ordering a drink at the other bars we asked for a straw and they gladly provided us with one. Not one lecture about trying to save the ocean and/or planet.

Perfect, glad its an option when needed.  It was a pain trying to drink a frozen drink without a straw.  Thanks!

  6. I've done every way possible- passes from Atlantis/Tour Website directly, Comfort Suites, and Carnival.  Honestly going through Carnival will only delay your time there as the excursion starts with a tour of the property (which is nice if you haven't been there before, but can take forever due to the tour size.)  We actually left the group and went to get our wrist bands on our own.  At the time Carnival was less expensive than Atlantis and CS was sold out.  Plus the tour included taxis back to the port with Carnival are in the same area as the regular taxis.  It's definitely worth it especially for first timers.

PS:  I see you're port 8-5.  Pools dont open until 9:00, waterpark 10:00, so you have some extra time to explore.

  7. Small group of us have rented rooms at Baha Mar for a few hours and would like to know where/which bus to catch from the cruise port?  How far is the walk/directions if possible.  Also, how frequent are the buses and the hours of operation?  I've read fare is $1.25, can this be in bills or are coins required?

    Thank you so much!

  8. We (husband-40, Myself-33) were just going through the same scenario. If the NCL Escape was still in MIA that would have been our number one choice. After our first cruise with NCL, we're hooked. Just booked the Getaway for next month. We sailed the Harmony of the Seas last year and honestly it ranked pretty low on our list. The crowds on this ship were just exhausting...way to many ppl and I've sailed during peak spring break, so trust me 6k is a bit much. However, I think everyone should experience an Oasis class. Investment wise, NCL currently is the way to go.
