  1. Hi,

I’m new to Royal and have a few questions about HOTS specialty dining. I noticed with the 3 restaurant package it states you have to dine on the 1st or 2nd night. We were only interested in dining later in the week, so would the only option be to purchase the 3 restaurants individually? Also, if purchased individually, is there an on-board credit that is issued for a discount (I thought I read this somewhere, but it could have just been an outdated promotion). Also, I saw children are being charged full prices when booking, any way to remedy this? Sorry if this is repeated question, I could not locate the most recent info.

    Thanks!

  2. Most of the time we try to have a notarized letter stating the other parent is aware of travel, but there has never been a time they requested it. Just recently on our NCL cruise we were not able to get in touch with DS mother, but as usual no one asked for it. DS shares the same last name as my husband (mom has a different last name clearly listed on birth certificate), so I don’t know if that’s why they bypass it. I think it becomes more of an issue if you’re not on a closed-loop cruise and disembarking in another country. Of course its best to have it if possible, but if you cant I wouldn't stress it.

  3. Now what? Nothing, everything is electronic. When your child goes to CC they will have all the info.

We don't need to print anything? Nope

What happens on the first day? There is a family orientation? Any idea what time and about how long that lasts?

There is a family orientation usually after you set sail, but you can check out the camp when you board and confirm everything and pick up the itinerary if you don't/can't attend. It will be listed in the Fun Times

CC isn't open the first evening, correct? First available time would be 10:00a the following day?

Correct, no camp the first night. I've seen camp start as early as 9:00a, but it may vary by ship or sea/port day

    Hope that helps

  4. Carnival offers many 7 day cruises for under 500.00, I have a choice to ante up 30.00 for a live concert or 30.00 for the Steakhouse, etc. Where in the Caribbean can you go on vacation that includes hotel, meals and some non alcoholic drinks for 500.00. CCL needs to make a profit so spending a few extra bucks on entertainment or a specialty restaurant is not a issue for me.:)

I totally agree. Even staying at an all inclusive wouldn't even compare. I actually was interested in one of the itineraries and it happened that a concert was added. I'm not interested in the concert, but I love I have extra time to go have a nice local dinner since the port time is extended.

  5. I also do not eat red meat, but I had to try Fahrenheit. I personally didn’t like the ravioli at all…it was quite hard for some reason. I was warned prior to dining, but it sounded so yummy. Next time I’ll stick to lobster or fish. I would say the sauce was a white wine cream sauce, but I’m not sure..here is a photo

  6. How come you never joined our

Breeze roll call for the 12/15/13!!

    Hi Bob,

I'm on the roll call and will be joining you all at the meet and greet. It was a last min booking and I'm going crazy trying to get excursions together, so I haven't had a chance to post in a while.

  7. We are going on the Carnival Freedom which hits Nassau on Jan 4th - along with 3 other ships. They are in from 8-2, 10-7, 12-12 and ours is 1-7. Should we even entertain Atlantis as an option? My 9 year old son would love it but if he gets 3 rides... not so much fun. Is the whole area going to be swarmed with that number of ships? Thanks so much for any advice.

Personally I think you will be fine. I've visited many times, even during college spring break and last Nov with two Atlantis/Budweiser chartered ships on property-not to mention about 4 other ships and have gotten a chance to ride all of the rides multiple times. Also, The Current is always super easy to access and probably the most popular.
