  1. Just a quickie to saw we just arrived home. Safe and sound, if a bit sad to be off the ship. It really was flawless debarkation.

As we entered our home DS called out it is 7:00 on the Westerdam...time for Club Hal!!

My Customer Satisfaction Survey is already in my inbox.

Kazu and Scrapnana...you didn't see us but we saw you! We were sitting in window seats in the Pinnacle bar! So sorry to learn it was such an ordeal to get back on the ship Kathi.

Glad you got home safely. It's hard to get back to reality.

    Big hugs to you all.

We got our Customer Surveys today too.

  2. Mumsy, why such a long trip home? 22 hours....yikes.

We left the ship at San Diego and visited friends. We then had to drive to Los Angeles for our flight home. Once at Heathrow it was another 3 hours bus and train to our door - our choice , we took the slow but cheaper, route.

Now trying to adjust to UK time so stayed up to bring us back in line. [emoji27]

  3. Gail (1of4),

    glad you're feeling better.

Hearing your reports about how the ship has changed it sounds like we may have got off the ship at the right time. I don't like loud or antisocial behaviour and would have been 'wound up' by experiencing it. I'm sure the children recognised this behaviour as inappropriate as they are impeccably behaved themselves.

We're safely at home (just) after22 hours of travelling [emoji15]. Missing all our CC friends and wishing everyone safe journeys home too. It's been a great privilege to have travelled with you and to have spent so many happy days together. I do hope we'll sail again together soon. Thanks for all the fun and laughter - a very memorable trip. [emoji2] [emoji2]

  4. That would be an excuse to crack another bottle of wine and have a grounding party. :D

Speaking of wine----Mumsy,-----Lizzie and I had a "meeting" this afternoon and there is not much left of your bottle of wine. Thanks again.

Glad the "meeting" went well. We'll have to find a way of meeting up to sample some more sometime. Ooh! We need another cruise! [emoji1]

Went to a wine tasting this afternoon in Temecula. Very short with almost no info on the wines - only that they could be purchased at that particular place. [emoji33] no room in the bags to take anything else home. Commentary not a patch on Ingo's particular style.

  5. Sapper 1 and Mummsysailor and everyone on this thread, enjoyed your posts so much, Thank you. Sapper and Mummsy, I recall you guys a couple of years ago on the same cruise and what a blast we had. It was fun viewing your posts.

WOOHOO!!! So good to hear from you Sunnygidget. We did mention you and your DH as we reminisced about our 2012 trip. Only sorry you couldn't have been with us.

I particularly remember how "chatty" you were on embarkation day at San Diego as we waited in the Lido restaurant - something about emptying a bottle of undrunk wine IIRC[emoji2].

Hope we can sail together again soon.

  6. Oh, my......

What if those folks came back to their cabin and saw you reading their mail. I'd be so embarrassed. :o

It never occurred to me that someone might be reading invitations, notes etc that may be placed in a guests' mailbox.

In any case, it was interesting information.

It's not like anyone needs to take the notice out of the mail slot! These letters are just left loose for all to see. I'm sure that's why 1of4 only read the first paragraph - she's just not the sort to consider touching anyone else's mail. It doesn't take a super sleuth to glance at the papers in somebody's slot.

  7. Woke up to glorious sunshine here in San Diego. [emoji14] Missing the gentle rolling of the ship that helps me sleep. Won't miss the noisy generator on the roof when we move rooms later.

Hope the newbies from SD don't spoil the rest of the cruise after such a wonderful atmosphere we enjoyed from FLL.

Our friends are taking us to a winery for more wine tasting today. [emoji2] Bet it won't be like Ingo's though.

  8. Oh no!

Such a pretty city to stay in.

    Where are you staying Mumsy?

Mis you so much and never saw you this morning to say goodbye.

Have fun in SanDiego and safe travel to you both

Double Tree by Hilton. Would expect better service here but we'll persevere.

Sorry to have missed you this morning too. Glad you had a good day in SD.

  9. Gail, sorry to hear about the noise outside your room. I hope it settles down. I think I would be outside shushing and complaining if it were me. I can't sleep unless it's quiet. Our hotel room here in SD has developed a very loud 'engine' sort of noise from somewhere. Can't get the staff to even come listen to it and they have no other spare rooms apparently. [emoji30] looks like it could be a long night.

  10. The wine tasting was a great success. Thanks to Kazu for hosting and to everyone for coming and bringing your wine along to share. Some extremely tasty samples were brought forth and, I believe a good time was had by all. The winner of the best wine will be announced after we've let the winner know -if you know what I mean[emoji2].

Now to get ready for formal night and the Black and White Gala. DH and I have a lovely, private, little table for two in the MDR which we now have booked for the rest of the cruise. [emoji7]

BTW we still didn't get anywhere with Dancing With The Stars but it is fun and a great workout!! A good number of the Roll Call came to watch for which we were very grateful.

    The fun continues.
