No, we where on the Pacific Sun.

Yes, i am cruising :), on the Maasdam in October 2018.

We are going to Avatoru, Rangiroa on the Maasdam.

On the Maasdam you might be 'going' to Hiva Oa but there's hardly any chance of landing there in that size ship.

I think we will be going ashore in tenders or zodiacs.

I have never been to Rarotonga before. :)

I haven't seen Hiva Oa on cruise ship itineraries. The port entrance is very tight. Which ship are you on? Be aware, the Marquesas islands don't have an extensive infrastructure. Your ship may already have contracted most tour guides. Check with your roll call as well.
