  1. Hopefully people dont actually use CC reviews to base their decision 100% on whether to sail a ship or not. My DW and I find it quite amusing to read some of the posts and "issues" people have. We didn't see a single portion or carpet that was tattered and worn, did not think the layout "horrible" (cannot get anywhere without going up and down decks?? Come on, that's just ridiculous and over exaggerating), had no issue with waking around people getting drinks ( the ice cream machines were in the corners not in anyone's way at all), lido deck chairs "worst ship ever"? It's a ship with limited space. Lol. Any ship has the most chairs/ loungers crammed into the decks they can get. I really can't see the deck getting "so full of chairs that there is no place to walk on the ship". I find some peoples exaggeration amusing to say the least. I just don't hope some people take certain reviews totally to heart and cancel/ change ships/ don't book on certain ships, simply because of what they read. We were on the sunshine last week and thought the ship was great. Did see a couple water leaks ( you just walk AROUND a bucket!), had great meals, great service and got to serenity early to grab our seats. We had several conversations about reviews we read on here while enjoying dinner ( which we only waited one night for and that was only 15 minutes) and wondered which ship, if at all, some people were actually commenting on.

    Thank You...109 days!

  2. Quoted for truth and with the new program at least, they should treat their platinum members better. 75 days is a lot of cruising. If you average $100 a day for a couple, that is $15000 a couple no matter how you cut. Not sure anyone averages that low considering on board cost and tips.

This is accurate with the new program. Before it changed though wasn't it something like 7 cruises and you were Platinum? Which means an easy 21 days. If you take 3 day cruises....

Not all are bad but there is an "entitled group" that makes everybody else look bad typically in that persons eye that has to deal with it. Until that person sees another Platinum guest come around to change their view they will typically label "all" as that type.

  3. Yes, you can use them to pay off your cruise IF you have booked directly with Carnival. And yes, the balance can be applied to your S&S account.

rob&tam - No matter what kind of Verizon account you have, you should be able to see your rewards on the website. Sign up if you haven't already, and you will probably see that you have already accrued quite a lot of points. Then go to the rewards section and click on the gift card option, then Carnival should appear. BE VERY CAREFUL to purchase ONLY the eCards, the certificates have to be mailed, cannot be used for OBC, and they have an expiration date. I can't stress this enough!

Can the eCards be used to pay off the cruise if I booked directly with my PVP? I am assuming so if someone read 26 numbers off.

Can only eCerts be used to pay off a cruise?

    Just for clarification.

    Thanks,

  4. sucks to know that some parents are nice enough to give their kid a cruise for their milestone birthday...

I was lucky to get a home made cake and a gift, that is about all..nothing special. Well, went out with friends that night and one thing after another fell apart.....*lol* a cruise would have been nice.....my niece got a cruise for her 16th....my 16th was uhm, ya, a home made cake and not much else...and yes, my family wasn't poor considering they could afford a class a rv (motorhome)..

I hope your daughter remembers and rewards you with something special when you have a milestone birthday or anniversary, or to say thanks for paying for post-secondary school *bg*

    wow!

  5. Since people have been giving their opinion. Here is mine. There should have been another place to check on the poll. Unless you were there and experienced it first hand. How about its "none of your business" to check off of that poll. But people insist on giving their opinions so you got mine as well. :):)

Lol, maybe you can start your own poll and include that.

  6. As a member of the passengers of the 3 day beautiful cruise followed by a 5 day camping trip at sea.....I wanted to chime in here.

I know one of the men (and his wife) who are part of the lawsuit and I have strong belief I know another of the suers as she used to be my friend,

I will agree to the 5k a month for the rest of their lives when we start doing the same for our service men and women who are coming back with much more important and horrific issues.

These people were vacationers and not travelers. Embrace what experiences you are exposed too and make a choice.

Cruised 16 days after I returned from the Triumph trip.

I cruised again in November (Carnival Sunshine inaugural) and finished the year with a trip on the Triumph. I had a couple of moments where I would come apron an area on the ship that brought back strong and sometimes surprising memories.

I booked my New Years cruise for 2014/2015 on the Magic and am looking forward to seeing the Dream in 31 short days !

My dear sweet friend broke her ankle on the Triumph and had to have extensive surgery, missed several months of work, and guess what!?! She was only second to myself I. Booking our 'do-over' cruise on the Sunshine !!!

We decide what keeps us down.

  7. No worries i completely understand. I'll hit the site before I go and print out a price sheet to compare.

Totally with you on the unique items. We have a carved wooden hollow apple from Roatan and hand carved turtle from Belize. We love unique stuff as well. Thanks for the heads up as well.

  8. Where is the best place to get Blue Mountain Coffee near the OR port? Have you tried it is it good? My MIL is a big coffee drinking and I would like to surprise here and get some for Christmas when we are there in October.

  9. I agree. Marva made Ocho Rios my favorite cruise port. We picked the attractions we wanted, and asked for suggestions for other things like good native food and hassle-free shopping. She kept us ahead of the large groups of tourists even at the popular attractions. The locals all know her and the persistent sellers and tour guides didn't approach us. We went to a restaurant that was the best food I've ever had, and nothing but locals were there. It was just a great way to get a small look at the city and country. It's amazing what a good private tour guide can do.

Do you remember what the restaurant was?

  10. Well there you have my fellow cruising friends.....my photo review from our back-to-back cruises on the Carnival Imagination and Carnival Sunshine is now complete :) I hope you have enjoyed following along as much as I have enjoyed putting it together for you to enjoy ;)

Until next time which is closer than you think....

I will be doing another photo review for our repositioning cruise on the Carnival Dream. We leave for that cruise on April 5th so be on the lookout for that review when I return in late April.

    Thanks Again :D

Thank you! It has been a fun ride!

  11. Thanks for the review, we will actually be on the Elation by this time tomorrow. I found it interesting that you chose to stay and eat in the Slidell/Pealr River are as that is where we live. I know were lucky to be able to get to port without all the added expense that most others have. I'm glad you found Rotlo's which is a local chain, it sounds like Olive Garden is a precruise tradition but next time try to find some other great local places as we have some of the best food in the world in this area. Looking forward to the rest of the review but may not see it all til after we return from our trip.

Can you make some non-chain recommendations?

  12. How do you get $8 a day. I have parked there 2 times and they charged me $12 a day. On their web site says $12 a day.

It is different parts of the garage. The rooftop is $8, Covered is $10. There is another "Overnight" listed as well that is $20.

If this is the same site that we are referring to that has a shuttle that takes you to the port and is located on the other side of the convention center from the port.:D
