  1. It's been a few years since we've sailed Royal.  When you are doing on-line check in do they have you pick an arrival time for boarding day like Carnival does?  We are cruising with 2 other couples and want to make sure we can all board the ship together if they do.  Thanks!

  2. For some time now, every time when I search cruises, see one I want to see what rooms are available, etc and I click on 'book now" I have been getting an error message in a red bar that says "We could not process your request. Please try again or call us at 1-800-764-7419". Anyone else experiencing the same?

  3. We have signed up for MTD on the Allure.  On Royal's website it lists dining time beginning at 6 PM.  I was on the Cruise Planner wanting to make dining reservations, but each night listed the first time able to reserve as 6:45.  Are reservations required?  Can you just go to the dining room at 6 PM without a reservation?  Any info on how Royal does their My Time Dining would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance!

  4. We have taken 3 of our grandchildren on cruises. Each time we brought along their passport and a signed and notarized authorization from each parent that they give their permission for the grandchild to be out of the country with us. We have never been asked to show this letter, but will I always bring one? ....yes for my piece of mind.

  5. We are renting a townhouse with 2 other couples and spending a week there this summer. Cannot wait! We've been to Key West twice, but only for a day on a cruise ship stop. Really looking forward to getting to spend time enjoying all Key West has to offer. Thanks for the pics.

  6. How much does movement bother you? If you find out you are in a cabin where there may be a lot of movement felt, I would bring along ginger pills, non-drowsy Dramamine or consider getting the motion sickness patch. We have only done guarantee once for an inside and were assigned a cabin on Deck 9 and I was doing the happy dance!

  7. On the Carnival website, sign in and go to Manage My Booking. When you pull that up you will be able to see if you've been assigned a cabin. Sometimes it doesn't happen until shortly before your cruise, but I would check daily just out of curiosity. Most usually you will be assigned a cabin prior to leaving for port, but there could always be the odd chance you're not....in that case you would find out at the port when you are checked in? Good luck! We have only done it once. Signed up for a guarantee inside and got one on the Lido deck!

  8. My husband has Celiacs and we feel Carnival does a great job. For several cruises now we have done anytime dining and had no problem. If we like the waiter we have the first night (and we always have) we request to be seated in his area each consecutive evening. Each evening they will bring him the menu for the next night so they can prepare his choices gluten free.

  9. We just had to do this last week. Had a scenic ocean view (the ones with the floor to ceiling glass at the front of the ship) booked for 4 people and 2 people decided not to go. Our travel agent called carnival, got the 2 canceled out and luckily there was 1 scenic ocean view cabin for 2 and it was open! Got the 2 other passengers booked into that room.

  10. My husband has Celiac and we have been doing the anytime dining for the last several cruises and has always worked perfectly. If we like our dining team the first night, we request to be seated in their area each night after that and normally we went to eat about the time it opened every night.
