  1. I like how you stick up for all husbands!! Seriously though, my husband barely looks at my texts on land so in our case I am blaming him!
  2. Didn't work well for us either but I think my husband "accidentally" didn't have the app open and so never would get my texts. If you have someone with you who will be reliable to always keep app open and check messages, it will probably work fine
  3. I think 3-4 day cruises in the summer will be a very different demographic no matter what the line. Don’t write off carnival. Try a 7 day cruise during the off season ( hard with kids I know) we go on the Radiance at the end of august and got an inexpensive upgrade from an Ocean View to a spa balcony on deck 10. How did you like the cabins? Did you use any of the spa rooms?
  4. The alchemy bar was crowded so we went to the bar in the steakhouse on the Panorama . The bartender was very nice but she seemed very confused that we were there and seemed to have a hard time with our order..yes there were seats at the bar but I had the feeling they were not used very often!
  5. You have a great go-with-the-flow attitude!
  6. This is great so glad you had a good time! I just wonder about the steakhouse being so strict about the shorts..especially with someone with special needs. What if your son had sensory issues and couldn't wear long pants? ps I agree with you about the buffet
  7. We actually have some at home tests so I’m leaning that way ..but have read a couple of stories about On Point testing like having trouble making appointments etc that make me nervous .
  8. Trying to decide weather to order the tests for Aug 29 cruise..Im sure as soon as I order, they will end the testing requirement . But if I put it off...
  9. We upgraded from ocean view to. balcony and kept the same promotion. It was an "upsell" offer from Carnival that we accepted so dont know if that makes a difference
  10. True but an advantage to having a spa cabin is that you are steps from all the thermal rooms etc as opposed to having to walk from a cabin and up elevators etc. We just got an upsell from an Oceanview to a spa balcony for 140 dollars total so we jumped on it. I wouldn't not pay spa room prices in general though
  11. Ok I really dislike the "Is ( insert whatever) worth it" since its all so subjective so I cant believe I am asking. We just took an upgrade ( yes yes I know its an upsell but whatever) from deck 1 ocean view to a spa balcony deck 10 for 180 dollars. It is a 4 day cruise on the Radiance. I was a no and hubby a yes so we took it. Just wondering if I should have stuck to the no.
  12. I think the great offers were to lure people back to cruising. They no longer have to do that to fill ships
  13. Cant see pics either, thought it was just me
  14. I also got Covid but after the April 28 Panorama sailing. Yes it was crowded and I didn't wear a mask most of the time. Hope you are feeling ok!
  15. Someone posted it a while ago...maybe you can do a search. I remember that basically the 7 days were the same menu as always and in the middle (the 4th or 5th day) had a different menu.
  16. If we saw $5.15 in California there would be a line of cars down the street !
  17. That kind of happened to us on the panorama. Sound asleep, suddenly a pounding on our door to put on our life jackets. All the muster rules go right out the window ! We ran out to the hallway and shortly crew came back and said go back to bed, false alarm. Sheesh!!
  18. I am PRETTY sure " up to date" means 1 booster...but on our last cruise I didn't want to take a chance so we did the Covid test 2 days before.
  19. glad things turned around for you! Mazatlan is our favorite as well
  20. I ended up upgrading , it is easy. That being said I would not expect streaming a 30 min video on Youtube would be possible even with Premium, at least not consistantly
  21. That actually may be a good plan. My husband got his second booster a couple of weeks before our April 30 cruise…I did not. I ended up positive for covid on our return but ( so far) he is negative .
  22. We did this cruise pre-covid, in October with half capacity and mask mandates, and two weeks ago with no mask mandate and full capacity. I ended up with Covid from this recent one. I don't blame carnival , I don't blame people not wearing masks because I was one of them..it just makes me wonder if they were too quick on getting rid of masks and filling ships up to capacity .
  23. It does change but its a bit confusing because its not always coordinating with the time in the port. I would have to check the carnival hub app to make sure about ship time, but my iPhone was sometimes off as well when it came to "real" time. In other words, I never knew what time it was!
