  1. For those who are aboard or who have recently disembarked, can you tell me who the Captain, Hotel Manager; Chef; Maitre D; any others you know or can remember??

    The Cruiser Director, I believe, is Jan Stearn;

    Asst. Cruise Director, I believe, is Judy;

    Doctor on board - is he from South Africa? I believe he was going to be on the Sojourn again this year. I had the pleasure of meeting him on our cruise last year after running into a corner wall right above my left eye and needing 3 stitches!!

    We got 12 days until we cruise!!

  2. We did a ` Godfather ` tour many years ago. Went the places the film was made, it was very non touristy.I do not know if they still do it.

    dalliowner - my Mom and I did the "Godfather" tour as well. We did a walking tour before we got to the home. They had a lovely welcome reception with a quartet and we had a wonderful lunch served down in the cellar. Afterward, we all were invited to go upstairs for a photo op from the balcony. The owner had Godfather II playing while we were there. This was one of the best tours that Seabourn has done.

  3. I have always faxed my request for my OBC. Seabourn informed me that they needed a letter from me requesting OBC indicating my Booking Number and Cruise Sail Date, plus page from my brokerage account. This is the fax number I've always used and never have had any problems: 206-501-2900,ATTN: Reservation Leads. HTH

    Cruises 6 days or less get $50 OBC;

    Cruises 7 to 13 days get $100 OBC; and

    Cruises 14 days or longer get $250 OBC.

  4. Thank you, Oregon50, enjoyed looking at Europa. And thanks, too, to other posters here.

    Pulled the trigger and booked the 25 June 2016 Norwegian fjords cruise on Seabourn Quest, signature suite. Quite a chunk of change.

    Just got off the Quest last Saturday. You are going to LOVE this cruise!! Norway is so beautiful. We were worried about the weather as it had been raining a lot prior to our cruise. Weather was definitely chilly -- averaging high 40's most days. Be sure to book the Zodiac excursion which goes into the Trollfjord. Unfortunately I missed out and kicked myself for not booking early. It is a bit pricey at $299 per person but would be well worth it. The fjord itself is breathtaking and while you're in the Zodiac you are lucky to watch the Quest enter the fjord, do a 360 turn, and then exit. You then catch up to re-board the Quest.

  5. We just got back from a three week cruise on the Quest. As I remember I only saw two kayaks and four Zodiacs. I would imagine there would be at least two more kayaks but I'm really guessing on that. If anyone is going on the "Majestic Fjords & North Cape" cruise I would say to definitely book the "Ventures by Seabourn: Extensive Fjord Exploration." Unfortunately this Zodiac excursion was booked and I missed out. They used the four Zodiacs and you are lucky to watch the Quest enter the Trollfjord, do a 360 turn, and then watch the Quest exit the fjord. On top of that, this fjord has got to be one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. At the cost of $299 per person, it is a bit pricey but, in my opinion, a once in a lifetime experience and definitely worth the price.

  6. Although I have not looked at Seabourn's website, Sunviking is correct. In addition, the Seabourn Cruise Collection 2015 & 2016 Booklet "Complimentary Internet/Wi-Fi Service" IS available in the Owner's Suites (Categories: OW, CS on the Spirit and Legend, and Categories GR, WG, OW and SS on the Odyssey, Sojourn and Quest). It is NOT available in the Penthouse Spa Suite.

  8. We have done the back to backs and never found the service or people different because of it. Naturally.....if friendships are made on one leg..and those people leave...that is life isn't it. Don't be concerned......just pack....and enjoy your trip with a positive outlook. I think your outlook can make a difference. As for the service...If you give the wonderful young staff attention and show interest in them....I assure you.....they will remember you.

    LaPaloma - I agree with everything you've said. My Mom and I have been cruising with Seabourn for the past 10 years and have done a number of 7-day back to back cruises. Each cruise, whether 7 days or 21 or more days is always going to be different. On top of the "Seabourn experience" we have found that getting to know the staff can make your cruise so much more enjoyable. I think some passengers forget just how hard the staff works in order to make our time on Seabourn the wonderful experience that it is.

  9. I got a two week (14 day) sample of the Rembrandt Teeth Whitening Strips. My oldest son wanted them so I let him have them. That was two months ago and I completely forgot about them. Just the other day I noticed his teeth. They looked so much whiter and brighter and he had only used them for four days! He had previously tried the Crest White Strips but he didn't get the results like he did with the Rembrandt strips. HTH

  10. I am so glad to read this! I have the "After Artificial" kit on its way to me, should arrive today I think. I promised myself I'd do nothing further with my nails (acrylic, shellac, whatever) until all the damaged nail had grown out. Now I'll be even more committed to giving this stuff a chance to do its magic!

    Amy, I'm not going to lie. It has been hard at times and I have wanted to make that appointment but I've stuck with it. Good luck!!

    Lisa

  11. Sorry, I wasn't clear. I'm talking about acrylics. My own nails never grow enough to make a manicure worthwhile. I look like a little kid playing with mommy's polish.

    Ha! You could be my sister!! I have never been able to grow out my nails. I have had gel nails (used to have acrylics until I developed an allergic reaction to the primer) for the last 15 or so years. Last year my Mom had some health issues and in December I missed my appointment to get my fill. Well, I decided that I would file them down (and keep filing them down) and just let them grow out. I purchased the "Nailtiques After Artificial Treatment." I was doubtful that this would work and I have over the last couple of months almost made the appointment to get a new set. However, I have stuck with it and I have to say that for the first time in my life my own nails look good! My cuticles are looking a bit ragged so I'm thinking of going to get a manicure. I have to say that the Nailtiques line of products does work!! HTH

  12. First time booked on Seabourn and, to my surprise, I experienced this same thing recently. I tried to book a host of excursions for a July sailing and they require prepayment.

    We've sailed SilverSea before and they simply let you book and then deduct the cost from your shipboard credit.

    Honestly, it feels a little chintzy and low-budget for Seabourn to require that your credit card be charged months in advance in order to book excusions ahead of time, particularly where one has more than enough ship board credit to cover the costs.

    Seabourn used to let you pre-book shore excursions and you were charged once you got on the ship. However, this ended once Holland America took over.

  13. . . . .

    At this point I want to hunt down the cook responsible for the chicken veloute for the Plemeny (sp?)in R2 and pry the recipe from him.

    baychilla, there have been many times I wanted a recipe after eating a fantastic meal! Talk to or write a note to the Maître 'D and tell him you would like a particular recipe. He most likely will just ask for your suite number and the recipe(s) will be delivered to your. My experience has been that I received my requested recipes the day before disembarking. HTH

    Lisa :)

  15. . . . .I’m not sure if this is a change in policy but the evac drill is on deck and in the safety video and CD announcements they have been very, very, very clear that if you miss the drill (no amnesty for b2b passengers either) – you’re gone, don’t pass go, don’t collect $200. . . .

    Personally, I don't mind having to do so but I figured that after the Costa incident that the days of bsb passengers not having to attend the muster drill were over.

    Lisa :)

  16. . . . .Capt:Erik Saabye

    baychilla, thank you for taking the time to post menus as well as letting us all know which Captain, CD and Bartender are aboard.

    Would you mind posting who the Hotel Manager is and would you happen to know if all of these people will be on the Pride come September 22nd? TIA

    Lisa :)

  17. UPDATE: You have peaked my curiosity so I called Seabourn. The gentleman I spoke with really was of no help since he told me that "Dedicated Concierge Services" are for Platinum and Diamond members and to look over the brochure that was mailed out or at their website http://www.seabourn.com/assets/Miscellaneous/Seabourn_Club_Benefits_At_A_Glance_v4_050212.pdf. When I asked does "assist with their onboard arrangements" mean help with arranging shore excursions or something else he replied that Seabourn would call you prior to your cruise to see if there was anything specific that they could do for you on your upcoming cruise. I then asked if there was now a designated person on board to help or do you just go to the Purser's Desk? He replied that you just need to go to the Purser's desk.

    What I'm understanding about this is that whatever level you are you get the benefits assigned to those levels and "Dedicated Concierge Services" might be something to use if you need assistance with shore excursions, getting a private car, planning a small cocktail party in your suite, etc. As I already posted, Seabourn and its personnel have always been so accomodating that I'm not even sure I would need to use this service. Now I may be all wrong about this so if anyone has had the "Dedicated Concierge Services" experience, please post.

    Lisa :)
